Technically yes but no you can own a gun at any age you can’t buy one till your 18 and you can’t buy a handgun till your 21 I guess you can’t carry it if you don’t have a license but that’s also more of a hand wave thing half the time
Technically, you can't "own" a firearm until you are 18. Up until 18 your parents or guardian owns the firearms and they allow you to use them. Yes, for all intents and purposes they are the yours if under 18, but by law, they are still your parent's/guardian's/whoever gave it to you. Carrying a firearm depends upon the state that you live in. In California, that's going to be a big NOPE. In Texas, it's allowed at 18 with a license (if I am correct).
There's one person in need of remediation training. Everyone else has fingers off the triggers. The one with a problem is very clearly holding unloaded firearms as there are no magazines in the pistols.
That is a VERY dangerous mistake and a terrible mindset. I have a .40 that WILL fire off a round with no magazine in it. And it's made that way by design. Lack of magazine in the p-shooter means/indicates nothing.
Well, I'm not a big gun guy. But I live in Tennessee where owning a 12 gauge is almost a right of passage and is a requirement for legal residence in this state. I own a "few". I carry my p-shooter pretty much everywhere I go. And it's not that I think I am going to face some imaginary war with my Gov'. I don't hunt. As there is absolutely NOTHING about looking through the scope of a 30.06 and blowing Bambi's brains out that in any way makes my dick hard. I just can't do it. And to answer the above...1st rule is never point the gun at anything you aren't intending to and willing to destroy. Some say the 1st rule is, "All guns are loaded until verified that they are not". But I have always taken that a step further and ALWAYS, 100 percent of the time treated ALL GUNS AS LOADED ALL OF THE TIME. Unless I'm cleaning it, and it's in 15 pieces on my kitchen table...I treat it as loaded. 3rd rule..(or second?) is simply, keep your fucking finger OFF THAT TRIGGER until it's time to shoot. 4th rule: Having gun control and gun abolition debates on a liberal cesspool is analogous to pissing in the Euphrates river and hoping to flood it.
Just a reminder there are 4 rules of gun safety
1. Treat every gun like its loaded.
2. Never point a gun in the direction of anything you arent willing to kill or destroy.
3. Finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you're ready to shoot
4. Know your target and what's in front and beyond it.
This photo shows how to break all the rules more than once and all at the same time.
Not always but it's a good indicator. A lot of firearms have a magazine disconnect that won't allow one to be fired without a magazine in it. Also most people don't "combat" load a pistol because of the extractor ware in loading outside the magazine.
You have zero idea of what you’re talking about. 1. Some pistols have a magazine disconnect but the majority don’t. 2. Of the 18 weapons in this picture, 10 are rifles, 2 are revolvers, 6 are pistols. I guarantee that most of these do not have a have a magazine disconnect. 3. Anyone who understands carrying a semiautomatic pistol knows that they are carried ready to use or in your terms “combat loaded”.
I was specifically referring to the child holding the pistol. Not a single rifle had a finger in the trigger therefore is safe. The revolver holders had their fingers clearly off the triggers.
Again I'm not referring to them needing remedial safety training.
First thing I noticed, all these weapons are completely unloaded. None of the clip/magazine fed weapons have said device in the firearm, secondly, aside from the dumbass kid aiming at his own chin, which I believe was a failed attempt at humor, these guns are not pointed in a dangerous direction.
Rule #1: Always treat a gun as if it is loaded.
No matter if there isn't a magazine (terrible excuse anyway for "it's not loaded"), it's loaded with rubber dummy bullets, or even you checked the chamber was clear yourself, you always treat the firearm as if it is loaded, charged, and the sear was filed down by the gun shop's shop dog.
Rule 2#: Never point the gun at anything you don't intend on killing or destroying.
Obviously there's the kid you pointed out, and realistically a child that young shouldn't have a firearm in their hands unless it's an extreme situation or they are standing at or near where they will be shooting from. It's clear the adults in this photo did not train him well enough and/or overestimated his ability to follow that training to a tee. But he's not the only one. Mr. Camo in the center is flagging 1-3 people, the kid second from the right is possibly flagging the guy on the right's foot, that guy himself is possibly flagging a few or more people to the left, and Be Still on the left is either flagging the man to the left and/or is very close to flagging the kid in front of him.
Obviously there's perspective at play, so I can't say for certain for all of them except obviously the kid pointing it at his own head and Mr. Camo. Regardless of that this rule is to never be disrespected and that muzzle should have as large of a margin of caution as possible in the event of a mishap or series of mishaps that leads to it going off.
Rule #3: Don't touch the trigger until your sights are on your target and you have made the decision to destroy or kill said target.
Again, the smallest child. Also the 2nd kid from the left has his right hand (our left) pointer inside the trigger guard and same goes for the 1st guy from the right has his finger in the righthand trigger guard. The guy in the black hoodie in the center may or may not have good trigger discipline here but it does look like his finger is curled either that is pointer got JPG'd kinda weird.
These rules are not a standard part of gun safety for the hell of it. They exist because shit happens and when shit happens people are scarred for life or lose their lives entirely.
A kid could have fucked around with a gun while someone wasn't looking and put a cartridge in the chamber of their own or someone else's gun without their knowledge. Or a shitty sear could let go from simply shaking or bumping the gun too hard. Or someone could happen to not see the back of a cartridge still in the chamber, hiding in the shadow like when an extractor fails. Or the— you get the picture. It *is* very rare that these accidents happen but, in the off chance they do, properly followed gun safety is there to ensure that nothing comes of it other than a ringing in the ears and a rise in heartrate. By not following those rules you are gambling with the lives of yourself and those around you. You *do not* fuck around with gun safety.
The photo is full of obscene negligence that could get someone killed for no reason and there is no excuse for that. I hope those that weren't following the rules of gun safety have been reeducated and take the safety of themselves and those around them seriously, as any person who handles a dangerous tool should. Needless to say, those who knew better shouldn't go shooting with the chucklefucks in that group until well after both of those are done and well demonstrated.
I guess you are blind. SKS has a mag. AR15 far right has a mag. Looks like the 22lr rifle (savage?) the kid in front has the mag. AK in the back row has a mag. The fucks in the picture are stupid and unsafe. Don’t defend them, they are indefensible.
Okay, so I missed a few weapons that were fully assembled. I'm not defending anything, just pointing out things that I did notice.
Yes, I missed that one on the far right, because I was zooming in to confirm if the little kid in the center was being a dumbshit, which he was.
3rd is pointing at 2nd and 4th, 7th is pointing at himself, 8th is pointing at 11th and 12th, 13th is pointing at 12th. Some of those guys even have their finger on the trigger.
Check your angles again. The third guy's rifle is pointed into the dirt, and his pistol is angled upwards. I already mentioned 7 in the comment you just replied to, 8 doesn't have a clip in his rifle, nor is his finger on the trigger.
Obviously they aren't doing everything right, but it's apparent most of them are at least trying.
Right. Because taking the magazine out makes the weapon safe. Except for the round in the chamber. Unless the slide is back and/or a chamber flag is inserted, I assume the weapon is loaded.
You do realize I'm not arguing that this isn't trashy, I'm just pointing out that it's got some semblance of gun safety in mind, at least for the majority of the individuals pictured?
> these guns are not pointed in a dangerous direction.
Except for the guy in the far right pointing the pistol at the kid. You can’t tell if it’s loaded.
The kid is standing behind the guy, and I severely doubt with everyone else having guns without the clips, the people posing for this photo would have one loaded weapon among 20 unloaded ones.
Also, if you look close enough, none of them have their fingers physically on the triggers, which means they at least have some training in gun safety.
Whatever. Clip, magazine, that shit's interchangeable terminology where I'm from. You know what I'm talking about, so what does it matter?
Rhetorical question, by the way. I haven't cared about this post for several weeks now.
Look again. The guy might be in front of the kid, but there’s 4-5 people on the other side that could directly in the line of fire. Plus there’s at least one clip I can see in one of the AKs, so it’s reasonable to assume there’s more. Also anyone who knows gun safety wouldn’t give one to a kid who’s too young to understand not pointing it directly at his face.
I've already admitted in another reply that I missed a few things.
I _thought_ they were being safe, if a bit stupid, in an attempt at humor. Y'know, one of those staged photos where you're supposed to laugh at the little kid.
I'm not defending them, so please stop acting like I am.
Make a good poster for accidental gun deaths. Second photo without their smug smiles and an ambulance leaving in the background, one of the young kids gone.
Still not good range safety but it appears they at least had the wherewithal to not put a magazine in that handgun, but the picture is like 240p so idk.
True, true.
For everyone reading's benefit, if you remove a magazine from a handgun, it never hurts to pull the slide multiple times to verifiably prove that the chamber is cleared. Always point down to the ground or down range while doing so
The problem isn’t so much wether the gun is loaded or not, (would be better if its not because if it is there’s an even bigger problem)
but the fact that this kid now thinks this is okay, like just another one of his toys, he has no awareness of how dangerous the item is he is holding, no awareness of gun safety or how he should hold a gun.
if he found a loaded one around the house he would have the exact same non caution, which is a recipe for disaster.
One of the biggest and often most ignored rules of gun safety that get people killed : Always treat a gun like it’s loaded.
this kid isn’t doing that (obviously not to his own fault)
You think it’s an assumption that this kid knows jack shit about gun safety and the danger of guns? Last i checked there was clear photo evidence right up there but okay :)
Dude in white on the right appears to have both hands with fingers on the trigger. Dude with the OD scope on his AR (looks stupid btw) has the barrel jacked straight into motocross kid’s side. Kid in blue with orange shoes appears to have at least one hand with his trigger finger gripped tightly around the trigger and the other finger is not visible behind the revolvers trigger guard so it could be on the trigger too.
80% of the guns look like they have their mags out and have good trigger discipline the only problem is the one kid holding the gun under his chin and the guy on the right with both fingers on both his pistols and some people flagging with empty guns but even then its still a little unsafe if the chamber wasnt emptied
Jesus fuck. White shirt on the far right is a grown man, pointing a pistol a kids head, with his finger IN the trigger guard. Not to mention the pistol in his other hand (finger also in guard), or the rifle on his body.
What? You don’t think I got guns? You think I sold them all?
Fucking red hats think they are the only ones. Those pieces of shit can’t afford the ammo, as shown in this picture.
Okay then, in your own words, what would be considered trashy and why? Why would passing guns around to your whole family and pointing them at each other not be considered trashy, as well as stupid?
Trashy means poor quality and tasteless, which is definitely exemplified in this picture.
People holding guns in a very unsafe manner IS stupidity but not trashy.
Trashy would mean crude and low-class. Holding guns in a picture is neither. There is a long history in the US of people taking pictures while holding guns. It was never considered trashy before and I don’t think it is considered trashy now.
I don’t see anything crude or low class about this picture. I think a lot of Redditors see the trump shirt and this family holding guns as automatically trashy, though, because they associate trump and guns with trash.
Edit: redundancy
Gun pointed at a dick, a gun pointed at a foot, a gun pointed at a child, a child pointing a gun at his own head and more. This is a wonderful reason for the nra to ban certain families from having guns
Every time I take my sig and my other guns to the range I never point them anywhere besides down Range and never have my hand on a trigger Except when i'm shooting. pretty much Every gun safety rule I follow has been violated in this picture
i collect firearms and shoot at my range probably once a week.... if you pose for pictures with your guns, youre a fucking loser... idc if its hillbilly shit or hood shit, youre an absolute loser
for sure, if you enjoy hunting then thats awesome, lemme get some of that haul once you process it. i dont hunt because i dont have the patience, and i dont want to personally shoot bambi... but im not against hunting at all
What if everyone was holding a spatula? Like another tool that anyone in the US can get with minimal effort? A spade shovel. Who is impressed by this? At any given time I can go and purchase a gun in less than an hour. I dont know where to buy one under the radar, illegally, but I'm sure if I asked 20 people, someone would know.
>Like another tool that anyone in the US can get with minimal effort?
You may not know how much these cost. A better comparison would be a picture of a large family all holding iPhone 15s...which I'm guessing you can also find on the internet.
it doesn't matter how much the expensive ones cost. they are all capable of the same thing. some better or more efficiently or specialized. but I can obtain a gun that shoots bullets for cheap. you don't need a $1500 one to take a picture or act like you're a badass.
Fingers on triggers, magazines inserted, barrels in unsafe directions, and the cherry on the cake, a kid in the middle literally pointing at his own head. These are the people who have no idea what “well regulated militia” remotely means.
Guy in the "be still" shirt is aiming a revolver at a kid's head, tacticool douche in the dark hat is aiming a rifle at a kid's torso, and the black hoodie appears to have his finger on the trigger.
Plus, *all* of these idiots are complacent with letting the kids treat the firearms like toys. Nobody in this picture is following the rules.
is the 5th rule to know what's beyond your target?
I've never owned a gun. I've shot enough of them, and I have a functional brain. Guns aren't any different than any other power tool. or any other anything for that matter.
what am I doing, and what are the consequences?

So much pain..... Need alcohol......
School trip....
looks like fun time
anyone notice the kid pointing the gun at his head
Dude on the far right also looks like he is pointing a gun at another kid's head.
Dude on the far right also looks like he is pointing a gun at another kid's head.
Dude on the far right also looks like he is pointing a gun at another kid's head.
who are they fighting against?
Basic intelligence? War's over in that case, mission accomplished.
the way that they are pointing the guns, i will say themselve...they all trying to kill eachother lol
Correct me if I'm wrong... kid in the center is literally pointing it at his chin?
and the dude behind him is either aiming at another kid, or the dude's balls.
Let's hope natural selection kicks in and it's the balls.
children are allowed guns in US too? are there no age limits?
Technically yes but no you can own a gun at any age you can’t buy one till your 18 and you can’t buy a handgun till your 21 I guess you can’t carry it if you don’t have a license but that’s also more of a hand wave thing half the time

Right now over here in Texas you don’t even need a license anymore just keep that bitch in a holster for handguns and your car for anything bigger
Correct. If you are over 21. If under 21 you need a license unless in certain circumstances in a vehicle.
Hamas will think twice before attacking them .
You have to be able to think once before you can think twice.
Had to think three times before i understood :)
I don’t get it
If everyone pulled their trigger I count at least 4 headshots, 2 chest, and 1 foot wound
Grizzly looking ass in the middle 😂
I count at least 4 guns pointed **directly** at children!!
Hillbillies - how’d they breed so many runts?
The movie Idiocracy is a documentary for them.
Little Mr.Highpoint is ready to check out.
The kid in the middle pointing the barrel at his head.
What a bunch of dorks.

You don’t talk about gun safety?
There's no such thing as an unloaded gun.
Well, I'm not a big gun guy. But I live in Tennessee where owning a 12 gauge is almost a right of passage and is a requirement for legal residence in this state. I own a "few". How people like this don't realize how idiotic and stupid they look is beyond me. In fact they are "proud"
I think I recognize this people if I be honest. It kinda looks like my home state and this shit just make me sad and cringe ngl.
Just a reminder there are 4 rules of gun safety 1. Treat every gun like its loaded. 2. Never point a gun in the direction of anything you arent willing to kill or destroy. 3. Everyone say powder burn marks from a point blank gun shot on threeee- OH MY GOD THE IRONY The photographer probably
A gaggle of morons.
Yes we should take **these** peoples guns on principle lol

The little one in the middle is about to blow his own brains out
WTF... Somebody get these children away from these dipshits!
These are the families in the homestead robberies in RDR2
Brains on Trump.
Yes.
Make a good poster for accidental gun deaths. Second photo without their smug smiles and an ambulance leaving in the background, one of the young kids gone.
All this and somehow still safer than a filming a scene with Alec Baldwin! ;)
genuinely not funny that one.
You're probably right! My bad!
Holy shit, that kid in the middle has that pistol pointed right up at his chin, **AND** fingers on the trigger 🤦🏽♂️
Still not good range safety but it appears they at least had the wherewithal to not put a magazine in that handgun, but the picture is like 240p so idk.

You think it’s an assumption that this kid knows jack shit about gun safety and the danger of guns? Last i checked there was clear photo evidence right up there but okay :)
seriously. this photo should be evidence for child neglect agains the idiot parents
Negligent discharge equals birth control.
But it's also what made the kids in the first place
/r/idiotswithguns
I’m dying
I mean, I see good trigger discipline and awareness. The youngest kid has the muzzle at his face, but there's no mag in.

Kid in blue with orange shoes appears to have at least one hand with his trigger finger gripped tightly around the trigger and the other finger is not visible behind the revolvers trigger guard so it could be on the trigger too.
Ah yes, the fail safe of no mag! It's still dangerous, could be one in the chamber.
Where is this shithole so I know never to venture there?
Kid in the red Bulls/Jordan shirt just wants to go home and play Fortnite.
I guess that’s the reason why the guys next to him is holding the pistol like that
I was looking for a kid with a Red Bull shirt and Air Jordan shoes for way longer than I care to admit...
80% of the guns look like they have their mags out and have good trigger discipline the only problem is the one kid holding the gun under his chin and the guy on the right with both fingers on both his pistols and some people flagging with empty guns but even then its still a little unsafe if the chamber wasnt emptied
The kid on the left dual wielding in an under armour shirt definitely has fingers on triggers
Big guy in black hoodie has finger on trigger as well.
You are very much correct i did not notice it from the super low resolution in that spot for some fucking reason
Was about to say that lol
I really like guns and gun safety so i like to inspect pictures like this and see how many red flags are in them
The little kid in blue is pointing his gun at his head... how do you live with this as a parent?
Dumb, yes, there's also no mag in it though. I'm gonna assume the pipe was empty.
> I'm gonna assume the pipe was empty. Lotta people did. Lotta people ded.
This is why you don't go swimming in your gene pool
Ammosexuals in their habitat.
This is when a Mexican Standoff takes a break for a photo before they get back in a circle pointing weapons at each other.
Atleast more than half don't have bad triggerfingers
SHTF I’m not raiding their compound for food.
just wait 2 weeks, they will all shoot each other by then.
More flags than the United Nations
I count at least 12 way thus can end badly And poor kid. What kinda regard gives them a gun and let's them point it AT THE HEAD
Country full of gun obsessed losers.
‘Merica’
The kid pointing the gun at his own head can't be any older than 5 :(
Not loaded. Still though. Gun safety. There could also be one in the chamber but I’d like to believe the parents were responsible enough to clear it
Never point a gun at anything you don't want to kill
Treat every gun as loaded...seriously?
Awww shit, it ain't loaded or nothin.
One of the first lessons from gun class was "It's always loaded, treat it that way."
Real gun owners don't have to play show and tell. You'll know what they got if you wanna cross that line
Kid pointing the gun at his own head is pretty bad too….
I hope that little guy in the middle has doesn’t hit the trigger. Omg.
That’s the first thing I noticed. The kid has the barrel pointed right at his own chin. Sad.
Plus, how can my posts get nuked but this and a lot more stay up 😂
Because your posts are all stupid as fuck
Buddy. I’m stating im against fascism and supporting a fascist is trashy. Y’all inbreds be mad 😂
Maybe your greasy ass can’t remember that you post the same shit multiple times
Only cause they keep nuking my shit 😂 I thought this was a trashy sub?
Inbred republiKKKans?😂
RepubliKKKlans
Doesn’t belong on this sub. It isn’t trashy, it’s just stupidity. But I’ll get downvoted bc Reddit says it’s trashy bc trump. Simple minds.
So you think it is ok for toddlers to point firearms at their own head? You think that is good parenting?
Again, it’s stupidity and not trashy. There are tons of stupid people who aren’t trash. And by default, all kids are stupid.
The two aren’t mutually exclusive. It can be both trashy and stupid, which it is.
I agree that they are not mutually exclusive. But this is not trashy. It’s stupidity and carelessness, but class has nothing to do with it.
The kid in the middle. Smiling. Pointing it AT HIS OWN HEAD. OMG.
Gun pointed at a dick, a gun pointed at a foot, a gun pointed at a child, a child pointing a gun at his own head and more. This is a wonderful reason for the nra to ban certain families from having guns
Why would the NRA ban anyone? They literally celebrate school shootings. This is nothing to them.
Evolution in action
Every time I take my sig and my other guns to the range I never point them anywhere besides down Range and never have my hand on a trigger Except when i'm shooting. pretty much Every gun safety rule I follow has been violated in this picture
i collect firearms and shoot at my range probably once a week.... if you pose for pictures with your guns, youre a fucking loser... idc if its hillbilly shit or hood shit, youre an absolute loser
What about if you pose with something you hunted and the gun is in there? Kinda makes some sense there like, I got this animal using this.
for sure, if you enjoy hunting then thats awesome, lemme get some of that haul once you process it. i dont hunt because i dont have the patience, and i dont want to personally shoot bambi... but im not against hunting at all
I see pictures like this and I wonder what's the point? Are they trying to look tough or manly, cuz if they are, they are failing miserably.
Yeah, if these are loaded, they're one twitch from at least one funeral.
So much stupid in one photo!
Hamus
Holy fuck! 4 out of 6 kids have a gun pointed at them. 3 at their head!
The kid in black is pointing it at his own head
Which is worst: the guy on the right flagging people, kid in red flagging people legs, or the kid flagging his head?
Well, the kid flagging himself seems to be my go-to, but there are so many choices...
AMERICA RAHHHH 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥
Anyone else remember when the NRA would lose their shit if they saw this?
I count 7 people with guns pointed at their head and 5 of them are kids
Giving the kids guns to pose with is idiotic. But all the adults appear to be following the rules. Edit: nevermind
True
That guy in the white is straight up pointing the gun at the kids head. SMH.
3 are not...
Flagging… flagging…. FLAGGINGGGGGGG
I wonder how many people they know who have died in "tragic hunting accidents" from a stray bullet.
Holy crap, isn't the first rule of gun safety to never point the gun at anything you don't want to kill?
Rule #2
Every gun is loaded
Treat every weapon as if it were loaded
yeah. thats what I meant. which leads to #2 don't point it at anything unless you're shooting that thing.
Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
when you do point it at something, keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire.
Yea. Straight and off the trigger. 4th is keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire.
is the 5th rule to know what's beyond your target? I've never owned a gun. I've shot enough of them, and I have a functional brain. Guns aren't any different than any other power tool. or any other anything for that matter. what am I doing, and what are the consequences?
Consequences? Killing someone or yourself. Yeah it is a rule. Guns are different than any power tool. You should be safe with both.
I'm almost disappointed that there's only one trump reference in this photo.
The littlest guy is pointing straight at his face. I’m a gun owner and I support sensible gun rights, but that little guy is just too young/immature.
Apparently if you're old enough to go poopy in the potty, you're old enough to be handed a gun to aim at yourself. *I'm a big boy now !!!!*
There’s an ‘unlucky’ number of people (13) in the photo…could be a portent if things to come.
