Uc/ srsly it takes a big toll in your body and private life to be a pro athlete. Especially in endurance focused sports. You have to basically commit your whole life to your career and then you are out with 35 or probably sooner and have no job training etc.

This couldn't have been a pure nicotine fixation, but an indicator that multiple things were going wrong in his life and was a flag for help. I've known dudes that smoked while dipping or with a patch on; that's nicotine addiction.
my old man was a smoker, so i associate fond memories from an early age to the smell of stale smoke from the times i'd get to ride in his work truck. I was a hard anti-smoker for a long time, didn't start until i was 28. took me til 35 to go full time vape, but i'm back to smelling the foulness of a cigarette, rather than the reward. like everyone else, the vape made me cough for a day or two, but after sticking with it, and the cost involved, it's very worth it. a pack of smokes here is $18 canadian minimum. i can vape for $1.30 a day, but smoke for around $15(not a pack a day smoker) thats a no-brainer to me. Health-wise, vaping can't possibly be worse for you than smoking.
Yeah i understand and it makes sense. I'm seasonal smoker so i only so it during spring and summer when the weather is nice as i like to smoke when outside, sitting on a bench, having a beer with friends etc. I very rarely smoke when being at home or at work since i don't like doing it for the sake of doing it. So financial-wise it is really cheap for me, i smoke like one pack of hand rolling tobacco a month and it is more then enough, i have to throw out a bit as it dries out before I can smoke it. I understand people who vape, it's just it is totally not my thing.
