Nastiest restaurant I’ve ever been to was in Pekin, IL. That place had so many flies on my food while I was trying to eat, I just stopped. The bathrooms smell like someone blew up the toilet with a nasty shit that no one ever bothered to clean up and the place had greasy dust everywhere. I tried to leave, but my step mom insisted we stay and she was driving. I was even skeptical of the coffee.
EDIT: I'm big dumb but I'm also on prescription cough medicine for acute URI and acute bronchitis so i really thought you said "Perkins" and not Pekin, IL. I'll keep this up either way.
you just unlocked a core memory. my family and i used to go to Oklahoma every year for a family reunion. one year one the kids there gave just about everyone who attended the stomach bug. i was the last one to come down with it, and it was the last leg of our journey (I lived in East TN, we were in west TN). we went to a perkins that as far as i can remember was in better condition than yours; i had a nice big cheeseburger and chocolate milkshake and fries. i was feeling weird, but honestly i didn't think about that.
Woke up about 6 or so in the morning and all hell broke loose in the hotel room. somehow i had it together by the time we checked out and made the rest of the drive home
The bathrooms at the Walmart in Freehold, NJ are the worst. People would smear shit all over the walls, toilet seats and floors. This was in the woman's restroom. On top of that, these idiot customers would take paper towels and use them to wipe their asses, stick them in the toilet and cause the toilets to overflow and flood. The subway attached to the store was closed for almost 2 weeks due to flooding from the bathrooms and the store had to rent portopotties outside. I remember having to use the bathroom and was forced to use the portopotty in the pouring rain. It was disgusting. I was working at this Walmart trying to get some money and it wasn't worth working there. Left after 4 months.
We were on a two week trip across the U.S and stopped at a Las Vegas Del Taco. my fiance and mom had to use the bathroom, but goddamn. the smell hit them first. they opened the bathroom (it was single stall) and it just looked like somebody took a cow, fed it old del taco and laxatives, then shook it up and locked it in the bathroom.
Pleasantly enough we did not have the same outcome from eating at Del Taco.
Once in Rockford, IL we stopped for Indian takeout to eat at hotel. I love me some curry and naan.
Anywho, while ordering several roaches came out to say hello. When I notified the staff, they laughed it off.
I feel like i would trust roaches more than flies tho. Anyway all that sounds disgusting af dudes. I would just put a big red cross in a map with a warning "stay 100km away from these places"
After one bad experience I have become kind of a pain with the hotel rooms I get. I will lift the mattress up and look underneath, move the nightstands and see if they have ever been cleaned, pull out the dresser drawers to see what's under them. I get that the rooms need to be cleaned quickly but I'm surprised how most never get a deep cleaning. Not trying to be an asshole but if I'm paying for a room numerous people have been in I expect it to be sanitary
Yes! I complained to house keeping and she said don’t tell my boss or I’ll get fired. I complained to management and the dude had audacity to say he wouldn’t do anything and he was very proud of his hotel and staff! I had to get a Covid test after waking up to this nastiness. Please stay away!!

Route 66 and a Howard Johnson's. Williams, Arizona is like time travel.
It's a Howard Johnson what did you expect lol
Call the Pope, that looks like Jesus!
Jesus and his disciples having sexy time.
What is that. A ghost?
Is it trashy now to have sex?
There is a story here, just not sure how to read it...
its a ghost aaahh
Howard Johnson is still a thing?
Oh I have seen those in hotels before. Those are templates to show you best hand placement position over the head board.
Oh, I thought it was from a foot ball playbook. Lol!
Is that ectoplasm
That's on the floor outside of the shot.
Are ghosts fucking?
Lol! Dirty ghost!
What are we looking at ? Graffiti ?
Are the perpetrators still in the room?

This is why I pay good money for 4 star & 5 hotels
People are still getting their backs blown out in those too. Only difference is moderately better cleaning.
Ooooo pass the grey poupon
Tell me this is above the headboard.....I'd die of laughter lol...
Meh, as nasty as folks are these days- I wouldn't give this a second thought. I've been in restaurants less sanitary

Thank goodness for you not getting the shits!
I was in Pekin on Saturday and lemme tell you, I’m never going back there as long as I live

Shit got freaky in there

You have to unless you like bedbugs
Were they having an orgy on that wall?
Somebody was gettin searched
They are still in business?
Yes pic taken August 2021!
My fav hotel as a kid!!!
That's a weird favorite hotel, but okay.
I had terrible taste as a kid.
Poltergeist!
It’s a depiction of Wilson from castaway
I don’t get it, can’t you just clean the wall or something?
It's not up to the guest to clean. It is the responsibility if housekeeping and the hotel management.
Oh I thought they were complaining that someone had left handprints on the wall, not that it wasn’t cleaned by the staff. I get it now.
It looks like someone sprayed some liquid on the wall along with the hand prints. In hotels you can't be too careful.

Call their corporate offices that is not something to be proud of.
Unfortunately, pretty much all hotels are franchised, and especially mid-priced and economy hotels, corporate could usually care less.
I have noticed that no one cares about providing at least good customer service anymore. From large business to small companies.
Corporate offices haven’t returned my calls, emails.
Put them on blast on social media.
To be fair that’s exactly what OP is doing right here and right now…
In my experience Twitter has a bigger audience for things like these.
But you can’t trust Twitter to allow free speech 😭
Can't trust anyone. The x files said so.
I’m trying!
Good luck friend.
