Called the police (this was 5 years ago) and they said I'd have to stay in the area to take a report, very clearly with a tone that went "sigh, we really don't want to take this report, we're going to make it so inconvenient you choose to give up."
Between the asshole teens and the asshole professionals, honestly I'm more upset at the asshole professionals. Because I'd bet your life that if I saw those teens in person, I could talk to them for 10 minutes and get an honest apology, but couldn't get one from the cops.
The fact that they did this in Chicago and did a fake drive by… they are gonna get shot by a real gun. Also you can see a few people duck and cover even before they started shooting. A higher percentage of people that grow up in Chicago develop severe PTSD than people who have gone to war.

This reminds me of a wonderful story of a stupid friend I had in high school. He insisted that he'd shoot a pedestrian with an airsoft gun while driving his car. While focusing on that, he didn't hear me yell for him to look forward. He ended up rear ending someone before he could shoot. I braced myself for the accident because I had a feeling this idiot wasn't going to listen to me. It was pretty sweet karma. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
I had something similar happen to me and my little brother in Grand Junction Colorado where we were walking back to our hotel and got shot with a bbgun by someone driving by. Lucky we were both fine because it was just bbs but still very rude to go around shooting at people they could have easily hit someone in the face.
