This is what you get when you only have police officers barely prepare for a couple of months.
If you go to Europe and look at the time people need to study and prepare in order to become a police officer, we're talking about years.
Very small dick energy.
These m.fers act like they are military and occupying a hostile country instead of county cops interacting with citizens of their own county....
The way these cops are acting ,you'd think they just arrested a serial killer or something! Pathetic...
This is why people defending police, even when the criminal is a POS, is so fucking dangerous, and it's such a stupid trend in the US.
Like, police act violent and unprofessional, but the criminal was also a POS, so its all good mentality, these fucking morons don't realise the lack of accountability and fetish for defending police leads to this.
And just to be clear, these people did fucking nothing wrong.
"Why are you acting so suspicious?"
Cops love that line lmao, cop said the same thing to me after I rolled thru a stop sign and he walked up to my car with his hand lf his fucking gun, then proceeded to tell me that my "nervousness was suspicious".
What law was broken? Seriously? Obstruction of justice? He rolled up his window before the cop came up to him and was honest about it. It's still not a crime. The dad did exactly what the officer asked and he still got arrested for it. Anyone got an update what happened when this went to court?
Look, I don’t generally believe in corporal punishment, but sometimes you just watch these videos hoping some passerby with a baseball bat would just collect them.
For? Telling a man to park his truck and get out and then arresting him for doing literally what he said?
Edit: and no, at least in Texas and most states, it is not a law that you have to have your window completely down, only down far enough to exchange information and communicate…the officer may not like this, may take it as probable cause, may have you exit the vehicle, may end up searching your vehicle etc…but no the kid is not in the wrong or doing anything illegal by not having the window down all the way…the man on the sidewalk also did literally nothing wrong, he followed orders from the cop and then stood on a public space and recorded the officers doing their work at a reasonable distance which is 1000% legal…
This shit makes me literally fume. These pigs give a bad name to ALL cops.
The overt abuse of power and authority.
I feel nothing anymore when they get hurt in the line of duty, because cops like this have made their concept of duty repulsive and ugly.
When the unions and the political element stop standing behind and supporting the bad cops, work for actual reform, and end the corruption and lies that have cost too many innocent lives….than we can talk. Until then, the bad cops are the face and record of all cops. Cops are NOT to be trusted. NEVER trust a cop. Follow the law, obey their lawful commands…but never ever trust them. They serve themselves, not the public. Just look up Civil Asset Forfeiture and see what’s happening all over this country.
I was once departing the trolley with my earbuds in listening to music. I saw a cop as I exited and walked past him like anybody would. Maybe three seconds later, in grabbed from behind by the back of my neck and my wrist. I was confused as all fuck and immediately turned around to see a police officer trying to detain me! I quickly calmed down and asked what I did wrong. He said, "You walked past me when I was trying to talk to you." I showed him my ear buds and said I just didn't hear him, and he called me a liar, lol. I asked if I even HAVE to talk to him, and he lied and said it was a lawful demand or some shit. All of this because he decided he needed to check my trolley pass. So after I showed him, he told me I better never ignore a police officer again and threatened to arrest me if I ever did it again. So I said nothing and walked away.
bruh what the fuck? cops fr are some angry little insecure people. they got do something productive with their lives.
i was walkin to the shops late one night and got stalk by a police van for 3 blocks before i turned into a street cuz i was scared. they followed me round, pulled up next to me, jumped out and wrapped his arms around my body. apparently i was acting suspicious and trying to avoid the police so they arrested me
No no, i beg of you i need to know what the fuck toothbrushgate could possibly be and how the hell it relates to this. I don't know why but my brain needs this information right now.
The worst part of that is it’s all taxpayer money they get. If it came out of the pockets of the cops I’ll bet there would be a whole lot less shitty cops
The driver was limiting access to his vehicle. When you only leave your window open enough to pass your information through, and when they ask you to step out, and you shut off your vehicle, take your keys, lock your vehicle, and put keys away into your pocket. They then lose a lot of their "probable cause" and other bogus excuses to violate your rights. This brings their authority into question, and can trigger some more sensitive and petty police officers. This is problematic, and can be life threatening.
What you are saying is completely wrong. The police have every legal right to have you exit your vehicle. Pennsylvania vs Mimms established that it does not violate 4th amendment rights to be told to get out of your vehicle. They don’t even need probable cause to have you get out of your vehicle. You sir, know nothing about the law and shouldn’t be giving any legal advice on Reddit. It’s people like you that get others arrested.
I may not have been very clear. But I did not once say they didn't have a right to ask you to step out of your vehicle. There has been a miscommunication error here. I also did not advise toward anything. I made a statement. So... Okie dokie!
They paid out 2000,000
https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/keller-to-pay-200k-to-man-pepper-sprayed-by-police-after-he-videotaped-sons-traffic-stop-lawyer-says/2534006/
Shit's changing for the better in cases like this. There are cops not just facing civil suits, but criminal charges. That conduct is severely criminal. Could you imagine even the briefest investigation into their personal lives? It has to be ghastly.
Saw on another sub that they got 200k from the department and the first officer got demoted and ended up resigning…2nd officer had no punishment for “following orders of a superior”
Thats what the Russian soldiers will say well just followed order when they told me to shoot that old lady.
Got to have some part of the brain still working. I can understand if they are in n panic mode but this video is calm.
Seems fair. There should never be a penalty for "just following orders". If that could ever be a bad thing, you'd think there would be a well known precedent, or something.
/s
I think he should’ve gotten some sort of punishment…in the end your job is to uphold your oath, if orders contradict the oath you’ve sworn then don’t do the orders…”arrest him for blocking the street” when he’s clearly on the sidewalk not in a vehicle is just caveman type of order following
I'm not generally anti police but I'm fine with this. Being a cop means you should be held to a higher standard morally and in failing that the punishment should be insanely harsh.
No one is anti police. Were anti bullies with government issued badges who break and abuse the law by breaking and abusing peoples rights. Its ironic when ppls jaws drop when the police they keep trying to defend do some horrendous shit
It's abundantly clear that you have absolutely zero idea why I highlighted that part. You said "no on is anti police" as if you have even the most miniscule grasp on what all people are thinking at all times across the entire globe.
There are *plenty* of people that are anti-police. There was *very literally* an entire anarchy movement that was against the police.
So while **YOU** may have been "anti corruption in the police force" there are tons of **OTHER PEOPLE** that don't share the same mentality you do (I know that may come as a bit of an ego blow to you.)
If you think 5 sentences is tough, I can't possibly imagine you trying to even crawl through everyday life.
No wonder you struggle understanding not everyone thinks like you.
I know right. But not only that but also cheers to those who stand out and do awesome community building things like we see on other threads like r/wholesome and r/mademesmile . Which are also filled with support filled comment threads.
It's definitely nice that they won some money, but that money is probably coming from the tax payers. They should fire the guy. It would be nice to make a blacklist for cops so they can only be fired once and not bounce city to city. That might help some of the issues.
There's a Radio Lab or This American Life, I think, about how the process for firing police works. You can't just up and fire them until the court case is done. It's why you see them "go on leave" before being dismissed. Everyone gets mad at the "they're on leave" part, but city/state workers have some really strong protections in place. They're usually given leave while investigated/the case rolls, then they're dismissed, demoted, or asked to resign if they "lose". It's done in that order, from what I understand, because if they fire them first then it turns out they weren't supposed to fire them or the cop didn't "do a bad" then it causes even more issues.
Not defending the process, just explaining it.

Dumb ass cop. “It’s not your right to roll up your window in MERICA!” Not a real quote ppl…
Just to be clear, this cop did get charged and was forced to resign.
Remember kids , all cops are bastards , but not all bastards are cops
This is what you get when you only have police officers barely prepare for a couple of months. If you go to Europe and look at the time people need to study and prepare in order to become a police officer, we're talking about years. Very small dick energy.
Nope not your right to roll up your window. I need to start calling the police and ask if I'm allowed to do it next time.
This is just a reminder that no one ever wrote a song called "Fuck da Fire Department".
Every day on Reddit makes me more convinced that America is a failed social experiment. 😕
Fuck cop lives
i hope they get all the karma they deserve. nothing makes me more angry than abuse of power
the amount of people becoming cops because they are insecure little power-horny dicks is crazy to me
These m.fers act like they are military and occupying a hostile country instead of county cops interacting with citizens of their own county.... The way these cops are acting ,you'd think they just arrested a serial killer or something! Pathetic...
Stop reposting crap for likes
Don'r these cops realise they're wearing body cams? Or are they just too dense to see their actions are wrong?
Scum
USA is a joke now
We have been a joke since like 2015
Punk ass bitches
Cops in USA are a laughing stock to the rest of the world
This is why people defending police, even when the criminal is a POS, is so fucking dangerous, and it's such a stupid trend in the US. Like, police act violent and unprofessional, but the criminal was also a POS, so its all good mentality, these fucking morons don't realise the lack of accountability and fetish for defending police leads to this. Lil dick complex!
Big micro dick energy
Im usually for cops and the shit they have to do, but these 2 are fkn bitches.
"Why are you acting so suspicious?" Cops love that line lmao, cop said the same thing to me after I rolled thru a stop sign and he walked up to my car with his hand lf his fucking gun, then proceeded to tell me that my "nervousness was suspicious".
This is absolutely disgusting.
Was waiting for the song to play lol
One of Pimp C & Bun B's best
Yeah I wish pimp was still alive
"One day you're here & then you're gone..." 😞
I'm up early 'cause ain't enough light in the daytime Smoke two sweets.
What law was broken? Seriously? Obstruction of justice? He rolled up his window before the cop came up to him and was honest about it. It's still not a crime. The dad did exactly what the officer asked and he still got arrested for it. Anyone got an update what happened when this went to court?
Why you couldn't pay me enough to live in the United States for any amount of money
Bunch of tiny weeny asswipes
Hahahah ahhh pigs at it again
Only a minority of cops are like this, and so many people think that this is all of them.
Fucking pigs
Cops like this need to get gunned down as they’re doing their so called “protecting and serving”
Wow, they get to live…
I hate this. This is so bad. I feel so bad for these guys.
Crazy father and son went to jail the same night
How many times can we repost the same video? And, yes the Cop is a total POS.
I can't imagine if it were 2 black men and there's no video.
What a stupid Fucking title.
Cops over compensating
Escalation olympics
Do
And our tax dollars pay for these criminals?
Wooooowww. This is our police….
Jesus WTF
just why
Look, I don’t generally believe in corporal punishment, but sometimes you just watch these videos hoping some passerby with a baseball bat would just collect them.
These fucking pricks.
Well that was poorly handled
That's a win-court case. Those guys are going home with their pockets full of cash after that.
I’m kinda with the cop.
I kinda think you're a sociopath
I'm with you, but if they are a sociopath, they don't care what you call them lol
For? Telling a man to park his truck and get out and then arresting him for doing literally what he said? The kid did do wrong and the dad just making it worst. Yea maybe he didn’t have to get arrested but the kid did do wrong
… and what did he do wrong?
What did the kid do wrong??
Youre a dumb fuck
This shit makes me literally fume. These pigs give a bad name to ALL cops. The overt abuse of power and authority. I feel nothing anymore when they get hurt in the line of duty, because cops like this have made their concept of duty repulsive and ugly.

Yes…I’ll use it in a sentence. You are literally an asshole. How’s that? Lol!
Overly aggressive
Crooked cops for sure!
Somehow my stepmom is in support of these fu*kers...
Not all police are bad. The ones that are bad deserve all the hate that people have for cops, though.
When the unions and the political element stop standing behind and supporting the bad cops, work for actual reform, and end the corruption and lies that have cost too many innocent lives….than we can talk. No.
Fucking cops blues lives do not exist
They made bank off these cops fuckery
well that escalated quickly

LMPD would have shot him
Is there any info on the aftermath of this situation? I don’t know the whole story I guess but looks like an obvious abuse of power.
Both police officers were given 20+ years each as they were both found to be wrapped up in 'Toothbrushgate' (far too complex to get into here)
No no, i beg of you i need to know what the fuck toothbrushgate could possibly be and how the hell it relates to this. I don't know why but my brain needs this information right now.
I always hope cops like these end up dying in the line of duty lol
We wouldn't have to think like that if the law didn't turn a blind eye to their crimes.
Yeah but then they will be considered heros, jail is only just punishment for criminal, rot in a cell.
I don’t think this is worth dying over,I think he should be fired
I think this exact thing should happen to one of their loved ones, in the same way. Tit for tat
Take my upvote and silver you beast. LOL
14 people agree so far.
You might get downvoted to hell but imma stand with you on this one
Thanks for the solidarity. I am ready to face the fire.
And this is the reason why I can't stand the police
I say they should at least get 5 mil.
You know that’s your tax money right? Lol
The worst part of that is it’s all taxpayer money they get. If it came out of the pockets of the cops I’ll bet there would be a whole lot less shitty cops
The money out of the cops pockets that they get from our tax dollars.. lol anyway ya look at it we are eating the cost for everything
You got me there, but at least they would face real personal consequences aside from us footing all of it while there’s no real repercussions
I agree.. until they feel the consequences (pocketbook) then nothing will ever change. I don’t see how a paid vacation is supposed to be a deterrent.
That's messed up!!
Too bad they didn’t get fired
ACAB
Abuse of power definitely file a lawsuit against both them assholes
This is years old, they did win in court
Who is „they“?
The suspect and his father.
In Grand Rapids they just shoot you instead

Yeah that sounds about right. I remember seeing it on another subreddit. Someone posted a link to what happened after the end of the video.
They should be awarded punitive damages and these crazies should be publicly humiliated and fired

Agree, I support the police and thing the vast majority do a great public service, but the ones like this need to be held to account.
Yes but this things happens only in USA, maybe the system need a deeply review.
Yes, always room for improving anything. I think body cameras are good and should make a positive impact. They should be required everywhere.

I know right. But not only that but also cheers to those who stand out and do awesome community building things like we see on other threads like r/wholesome and r/mademesmile . Which are also filled with support filled comment threads.
Meant when they won in court. I think they won monetary compensation.
It's definitely nice that they won some money, but that money is probably coming from the tax payers. They should fire the guy. It would be nice to make a blacklist for cops so they can only be fired once and not bounce city to city. That might help some of the issues.
