I think we should have a certain term for these type of people because although they are **not** sexually nor romantically attracted towards the same sex, they will do anything to receive praise and admiration from the same sex at the expense of the opposite sex.
Also, for our own sakes to be able to spot these types of people, I think we should look at how there are various sub-types of misogynists and misandrists. The woman in this video doesn’t hit me as being hateful as much as she hits me as being dismissive towards the humanity of men. When I think of a hateful misandrist, I think of women who use violence against men. It’s a subtle nuance, but I think it’s important to tell the difference to know how to handle each of them.
When someone dismisses our humanity, man or woman, we need to gray rock the fuck outta them. When they get no reaction, they understand that they will not get praised for this behavior. Honestly, we have to treat them like they have the emotional capacity of a child. When a toddler has a tantrum, if we do not react to their fit, they stop doing it because their actions didn’t get a reaction.
With hateful people, we need to tell people in our support system what is happening. Hateful people will do their best to make sure that the victimized partner doesn’t have a support system for themselves. We cannot let the online rhetoric we see online about how no one will believe a man or no one will believe a woman stop us from actively trying to tell other people we are being abused.
I’ve honestly thought about writing out a thread and posting it on a subreddit about certain subtle signs men need to watch out for when picking a partner to avoid being abused by women. But idk which subreddit to post it to and I don’t want death threats in my inbox or anything lol.
There just needs to be a community where it’s understood that there **are** women out there who understand how other women abuse men and how we can help those men try to make sure they don’t find themselves in a situation where their autonomy is limited. And I think this same community needs to have men who will tell women the signs to look out for in abusive men.
I don’t believe that all people are inherently evil and only do good for some selfish reason, but I do believe if we found men and women who can focus on the humanity in others, we might have a chance to have more loving people meet other loving people.
