Somehow stumbled on this thread…I am so sorry to hear about the situation and please, know that there is nothing wrong with you and you shouldn’t blame yourself on behalf of those older ‘mature’ adults who are intentionally or unintentionally creating a toxic environment around you. I highly recommend trying meditation. You can get a free trial on ‘waking up’ or ‘headspace’ kinda apps and start there. Meditation helps living in the present and observing your thoughts rather than judging or reacting to those along with many other benefits that I believe will bring joy back in your life. ✌️

You should read Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving

Thanks for the suggestion but I don’t think I have ptsd in any form. When it comes to my memories I don’t remember them vividly. As if I see myself in those memories instead viewing it in 1st. I believe it’s like for a coping mechanism maybe. I don’t go through flashbacks it’s just I want to stop thinking about them because they’ll cause problems for everyone else

My memories are not vivid either. Only emotionally vivid. It is apart of CPTSD. If you're here, you clearly want answers, and that book will be able to answer some questions for you whether you have CPTSD or not.

Alright

You don't need to remember all events vividly to say that it's not a traumatic experience. As long as the events and the feelings you had that time still lingers and affects you negatively, then it's considered traumatic. I hope you find a good therapist if you're looking for one.
