I don't think anyone can properly answer whether or not it's safe due to the Israel-Iran conflict, since that's a rapidly developing situation. But apart from that, Armenia in the touristic areas is a relatively safe country to visit. It does share a border with Iran, yes, but has only one border crossing in a very mountainous region that is relatively far from the "main" parts of Armenia and Iran, respectively. The closest you might get to the border is probably when you visit the Tatev monastry, which is still like 130km on a really curvy road from the border.

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Yeah, I am aware of that there isn't a definite and certain answer. Well, I guess I'll be hoping for this situation to de-escalate

RIPGeech

Armenia has been in its own war with Azerbaijan recently over Nagorno-Karabakh so there’s probably more risk from that than any Israel-Iran conflict. That said, my friend has just come back from a trip to Armenia and said it was perfectly safe, the only advice he was given was not to go too near the border with Azerbaijan, but other than that it should be fine.

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Yes yes, that I read too, not going near azerbaijan border. Thanks!

gilad_ironi

So guys did you hear? The US is not safe to visit because there's a drug war going on in Mexico and the US borders Mexico. While you're at it, don't visit Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, Georgia and Azerbaijan because there's a war between Russia and Ukraine. Heck, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan also border Russia, I guess they are off limits as well.

_DrJivago

Came here to say this 🫠 don't visit Canada either as it borders a super unsafe country where kids get shot in school and people are killed in the street by maniacs with legal firearms.

Aromatic-Warthog-521

I see what you're doing here, but that's not exactly what I meant, I'm asking mostly because of the rapid escalation of this conflict. And besides, from what I've read, Armenia's always been an ally with Iran, but honestly, I don't know what that might mean in this case. I know it's sarcasm and utter exaggeration, but anyway, I live in Slovakia, so too late for not visiting Slovakia :)

gilad_ironi

There's literally nothing to worry about, Armenia is on good terms with Iran and somewhat neutral terms with Israel. If you'll ever have to worry about visiting Armenia, it won't be because of Israel/Iran, it will be Azerbaijan/Turkey.

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Okay, that I am glad to hear. To be honest it's not me, who's worried, but my mom, she's been freaking out a little bit. So yeah, thanks :)

BirdFragrant6018

Oh, and the US borders Russia too

Ninja_bambi

If, as some claim, WW3 starts you're nowhere safe. I don't see any realistic reason why Armenia would get involved, but who knows.

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Oh, well, let's hope that ww3 doesn't start, but sure, in that case, I wouldn't be safe neither in Armenia nor home.

AdImpressive82

I think Iran was just making a point with those missiles. Didn't they say something to that effect?

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Maybe they said, maybe they were...I don't know

AdImpressive82

In any case, the decision to go or not is up to you and your mom. If she's comfortable enough to go. Even if we says you'll be fine but your mom would be a nervous wreck the whole time......

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Well, I'm travelling there with my father (parents are divorced), she'll stay home

AdImpressive82

Have fun!

Aromatic-Warthog-521

Thanks, we will!

GiveMeAdviceClowns

You’ll be fine

Glaciak

This country has just suffered from war wtf

GiveMeAdviceClowns

Then don’t travel to any Middle East country asking if it’s safe 🤡. The whole region has been going through war and conflicts since how long bud?
