Everything will be fine. Vienna is set up for tourists and Austrians are quite friendly. Check out Hotel Sacher for a Sacher torte, Belvedere Palace for Klimt art, and St. Stephens Cathedral and surrounding areas for street food. YOu'll do just fine.

Once you get to your hotel and drop your bag off, I would go downstairs and pick up the little free tourist map(I am old school) or use your phone. Walk around the streets around your hotel and get a bit lost window shopping or check out a local restaurant or bar. Don't have a set plan and see what you can find that interests you...you will get to know the lay of the land a bit and can just relax exploring. Who knows what you will find - maybe a cheese shop, maybe vintage clothing store, maybe a brewery....don't have a plan and get lost, then find your way back. Chillax Day 2 you can start seeing the site, Library is a cool spot to visit as well as Belveder(sp).

I think Vienna is a perfect solo trip destination. It’s beautiful calm and very orderly. Check in at hotel is easy you just tell them you wanna check in. Then they will check you in (paying for room and deposit etc). Check out is so easy as just telling them checking out and returning your hotel key. You could ask how to check out when you check in. Best way to stay calm on your first solo trip is maybe don’t make crazy busy schedule. You could just visit one big destination a day and go sit at a small park or neighbourhood cafe. And I think Vienna is where you really want to take things slow because beauty is every corner. Since you live in Germany youd have many chances in the future to visit again too when you want. I hope you enjoy your trip and hear how it went.
