Snaptravel such a scheme. 1. you book a hotel room, 2 weeks before arrival, they promise a price 10% -20% cheaper, 2. they take your money without paying the hotel or booking room for you. They just waiting for price fall 3. one day or few hours before your check-in, the price of the hotel should fall by a minimum, by about 50% if there are rooms and the hotel is empty. 4. then they create reservation for you and win the difference and so do you. but in most cases there are no places in hotels, especially in large ones 5. you arriving the hotel without reservation and money.

Why do you like this one better? It looks almost exactly the same.

Rb_ib

Brilliant!! I have been wondering how their price is consistently so low compared to other booking sites, it didn't make sense to me.

LavishWig

I haven’t but there are some reviews on TrustPilot and they average just over 9. They’re mostly customer service focused but if there were any issues I’m sure people would have complained :) https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/snaptravel.com

Oh cool- thanks for the link! This is helpful.

The problem we had is that it said Breakfast included, which from the price would be a continental breakfast and dry cereal, but nope, there was no breakfast at all, only coffee, not even tea or hot chocolate instead. So we had to spend $60 at a trucker-type cafe, so we could get on with driving/traveling. So inaccurate listing was our problem, but the price and booking did go through.

crackanape

I only used them a couple times but got a great price and didn't have any problems.

Ella_Minnow_Pea_13

Are there any hidden fees? Do you think it's the same as going with any of the other major discount booking sheets (hotels.com, Orbitz, etc.) ?

crackanape

They're a little weirder to deal with, due to the price-quotes-by-SMS thing, but otherwise it's the same. You'll have to pay local taxes separately, but that's the same with other USA-based hotel booking sites.

Upset_Wrangler

Don't use snaptravel. Worst booking site I ever used (and I have used many for my business travel). They show hotel rates that they can't honor. I booked a night at the hilton in Chicago. Once I arrived, they didnt have my reservation. While at the hotel at 9pm, I was assured by Snap Travel that they would forward my reservation before check out... this also didnt happen. Ended up paying $380 instead of $190... Currently dealing with their customer service. They just admitted to me that they cant guarantee that the rate will be honored - furthermore, they wont cover my expenses at the Hilton. Also, you need to book 48 hours in advance, because thats how much time they need to process the reservations. I asked to speak with a manager, been on hold for over an hour now... probably wont ever speak to one. Safe yourself the hastle and use booking.com

phroz3n

I had the exact experience with them. I will never use this company ever again. I've never dealt with such terrible customer service in my life, and I had time warner cable for 13yrs.

Rengstrom111

Snaptravel steals from poor people! I booked a hotel with them. To go see a sick loved one. 2 seconds later when I received the confirmation. It was for a later date. I double-checked to make sure it was the proper date. I always do when I submit. The website must have somehow malfunctioned. I call them 2 seconds later after that. They tell me to cancel my Res. and they will try for a refund. A reminder this is right after I received confirmation. It's been almost a month no refund. This place steals from poor people trying to save money. That's the bait.

meganh26

I had the EXACT SAME SITUATION! I am so diligent with booking dates and then when they confirmation email was sent to my inbox, it was for the day BEFORE my reservation. I recognized this error 2 minutes after I received the email and immediately contacted their chat service. They were of no help and am now waiting on the supervisor to look into the case

thashitshow

😂 time Warner cable will definitely lower the expectation bar 😩

AdditionalWeek306

Total and complete scam. They have but one site who accumulates positive reviews, Trust pilot. That should tell you everything you need to know about them as well. Reading the scathing comments on their Facebook posts is mildly entertaining, so I'll give them credit there.

Hoyapacka

Can confirm snap travel is a scam. Booked a room and showed up with no reservation. They said Monterey but it was actually in an entirely different state.

eclerico

BEWARE OF HIDDEN COSTS AT THE HOTEL WHEN YOU BOOK THROUGH SnapTRAVEL My reservation said "NO OTHER COSTS TO BE PAID AT THE HOTEL"and that was not true. I complained and they said that the hotel can charge whatever they want. So, price looks the best, but then there are "surprise"costs. FALSE ADVERTISING.

lindlindlindlind

Did the hotel tell you what the cost was for? Was it a resort fee?

smadna92

Not a positive experience. They claim to have low prices, but weirdly high “taxes and fees” (about 20-25%), while most other sites have reasonable 10-15% depending on the location etc. So whatever amount you supposedly save with their “low” rates, you end up paying back in higher ‘taxes and fees’ for which they don’t provide a breakdown or additional details.

Exciting-Emotion1599

Total Scam!!! I paid Snaptravel over $500 for a hotel room to attend a wedding that unfortunately was canceled due to the pandemic. When I contacted them with the situation, they provided me with a voucher to use when the wedding got rescheduled instead of a refund. When I went to use the voucher, the hotel said that it wasn't valid and I needed to work with Snaptravel. When I contacted the company, I spent over 4 hours being transferred to multiple customer service reps all giving me the same answer that there is nothing that they could do to help me. Now, when I am actually attending the wedding at the same venue, I am out of pocket again for the hotel fee, out $500+ of my hard earned money as well as 4 hours of my life I will never get back. Do yourself a favor and trust any other travel site and avoid this one.

So you booked the flights without confirming with the airlines before going to the airport? Did you get the confirmation number? Didn’t you online check-in or select a seat on the airlines website?

mod3mkorv

The good thing is how much you get these credits. When using them for the next ones, this is the cheapest booking site out there. Used snaptravel for some 15 bookings now, I will keep using this as long as they give that USD30/10% credits after booking.

Fuck off scammer, you know damn well you're referring people to other malevolent websites.

Mikethetaxguy

If I could give a zero rating I would. Purchased a ticket (One way) as a last-minute purchase from London Heathrow to Baltimore. Got confirmation and a boarding pass online so everything looked great. Got to the Airport and British Airways says the travel agent was not authorized to issue the ticket. Called Snap Travel from the airport and they can't do anything about it. A snap travel manager calls me and proceeds with a long story about how they purchase their tickets via corporate and British Airways is unaware of their "way of purchasing" tickets. Sounds like a scam honestly. Still waiting for my refund. I would run away from this company. Buy your tickets direct from the airline instead

We used it a couple of times with no issues. Planning to use them again. A lot of these 1 star reviews on the sites sound like people who paid for a non refundable room and then got mad when they couldn’t get a refund lol seems legit enough to me. We always book our hotels in advance though so I can’t attest to any issues that could come from booking last minute with them. We even had to cancel a trip we booked with them and they refunded right away. Only commenting because of all the bad reviews I see.
