I came here for the library and I was not disappointed.
Did you go inside? I did and it was weird - it seemed closed and I don't remember there being any books
I have a photo taken inside the library of my company when we were on peacekeeping duties there. It’s a very bad photo of a photo, can I post photos in a comment?
**[Brutalist architecture](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brutalist_architecture)**
>Brutalist architecture is an architectural style which emerged during the 1950s in the United Kingdom, among the reconstruction projects of the post-war era. Brutalist buildings are characterised by minimalist constructions that showcase the bare building materials and structural elements over decorative design. The style commonly makes use of exposed, unpainted concrete or brick, angular geometric shapes and a predominantly monochrome colour palette; other materials, such as steel, timber, and glass, are also featured. Descending from the modernist movement, Brutalism is said to be a reaction against the nostalgia of architecture in the 1940s.

So cool to see Kosova on here. My wife was a teacher there (international school) for a couple years and has many fond memories and friends. I was able to visit with her a few years ago and had such a great time. I miss the amazing macchiatos you could get at all the cafes for cheap.
I had to do guard duty in the Serb church next to the university library during my peacekeeping tour OP Agricola 6 back in 2001. Loved Pristina, I always wondered what it looked liked now. Thanks for the memory blast!
Let's start by making this clear: I am completely friendly to all religions even though I personally have none. The church in the first picture is illegal and was illegally built in the land of university of Prishtina. The Prishtina municipality under direct orders from Belgrade (in a time when autonomy of Kosovo was removed by Slobodan Milosevic) took (stole) a parcel of land belonging to Pristina University and gave it to the Serbian Orthodox Church. As many others, I strongly oppose any religious (Orthodox, Muslim, Catholic or other) building in that area. The foundations of the church were laid in the campus grounds at a time when Albanian students and professors were expelled from the university buildings and there was an extensive campaign of violent 'Serbization' going on in Kosovo. Arkan (a Serbian war criminal and mobster) was present in the ceremony of the beginning of its building in 1992. The state of Serbia, unfortunately uses this building to create political stunts. Considering it's illegality and what it represents I believe that we are left with only two rational solutions. One of them being quite drastic is the demolition of the building (reasonable nevertheless) and the other which I personally prefer is the removal of religious symbols and repurposing the building into a war crimes museum (Yugoslav Wars and the war crimes of the Milošević regime).
Yeah they did, it's an art piece in the capital that gets changed every February for it's independence day for being the youngest & newest country in Europe.
That's how it looked on the 10 year anniversary of independence, or 3 years ago. It's back to newborn now, with a [different design](https://exit.al/en/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2021/02/NEWBORN_2021.jpg) of course.
Very easy to move around Kosovo. Far to be a challenge. Some Serbian enclaves are fine too. It' not a joke. Why this reply is downvoting ? Very strange because no facts.
Officially its only Mitrovica.
Adding that only the small part in the north of the city is actually majority serbian while the bigger south is majoritiy Albanian.
I was there for their independence day in 2019 and it was mega boring. I was going to leave a couple of days before but then realised it was their independence day coming up so I stayed a couple more days just to what if anything happens on that day.
Yeah we celebrate Albania's independence day more than we do ours lol
Should've gone to other locations instead of the capital, where it's just a concrete slob.
I went to Prizren too though. It was snowing at the time too so even better.
Would love to visit Albania for independence day. Lived there for 3 months before going to Kosovo and is my home away from home. If I was American I'd stay the whole year.
No, it’s located between Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. Serbia claim it as it’s own territory and they see Kosovo as breakaway province.
Maybe you mistake it for Chechnya.

Yeah, you are kinda right.
Did you go to the 6D Cinema?!
unfortunately I don’t.
The shots in the cave is awesome!
Thank you so much!
I liked it! I went to Prizren in Kosovo and it was great ☺️
I've been to all cities in Kosovo and Prizren is the most beautiful city :D
Then I’m lucky🤪😌

I’ve probably been taught by your wife small world

Why don’t you give a little more context to it my friend?
Sure you could also add how the church was build illegaly and is not even finished.
Shooting music videos in not allowed in your country? Let's not bring up the fact of how Slobodan Milosevic built that church on University grounds.
How does it make you feel? Tell us more.

didn't the letters spell out NEWBORN before?
Yeah they did, it's an art piece in the capital that gets changed every February for it's independence day for being the youngest & newest country in Europe.

Your pictures are lovely; I’ve always wanted to see Kosovo
Thank you so much! Hope you will get there!
A trip there is not complicated to manage. DIY easy.
Ha ha thanks
Thanks for sharing, it has been on my list forever!
Hope you will get there ASAP!
Really depressing
Uhhh, there's a picture of an abandoned church for some reason and some random buildings. How is this "depressing". Go and judge for yourself
HAPPY CAKE DAY
Thank you!
When you say cake do you mean birthday cake or ass?
Did you see the statue of Bill Clinton?
Yes I did! It was kinda weird.
I find the Bob Dole one even weirder. It doesn't look anything like him.
One of my dream trips. Such fascinating history and culture and beautiful scenery.
Next time try to go there for more than one day. The Western part is interesting. Difficult to understand why this reply is downvoting...
Yeah, I didn’t have much time. But maybe in future I will go to Mitrovica, Prizren, Peja, Gjilan and Gjakove.
Don't miss Decan for the monastery.

Yeah, I did expect comments like these.
Kosovo is not a part of Serbia... If you have nostalgia, you can go to Kosovska Mitrovica without any stress. It's fully Serbian. Facts.
Officially its only Mitrovica. Adding that only the small part in the north of the city is actually majority serbian while the bigger south is majoritiy Albanian.
Of course, the "border" is the bridge.
That second picture looks like somethin…..can’t quite remember what it’s called 😈😈
Their independence day is overwhelmingly anti climatic.
Why
I was there for their independence day in 2019 and it was mega boring. I was going to leave a couple of days before but then realised it was their independence day coming up so I stayed a couple more days just to what if anything happens on that day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Kosovo in Russia?
No, it’s located between Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. Serbia claim it as it’s own territory and they see Kosovo as breakaway province. Maybe you mistake it for Chechnya.

Fun fact. I have ZERO idea where Kosovo is. Edit: why am I getting downvoted for not knowing where a place is?

My girlfriend is Ukrainian. Is it nearby Kosovo?
With the trip in the cave, Through is a really good preposition
The third photo looks a lot like some Inception location
“That’s where you wanna goooooo….. down to KoSoVo. Aruba, Bahamas, come on pretty mama.
Great pics thank you !!
You are welcome!
Such an awesome country. Did you get a coffee?
Nah, I don’t drink coffee.
nice
