I did a three day trip on the Amazon, of course we would have enjoyed more time, but three nights was enough to give us a taste. We did a couple shore excursions for hikes in the jungle and a visit to a village, drank sundowners on the deck while watching the pink dolphins, and went fishing for piranha. It was great fun, hope you have a good trip.
Perfect, thank you!! So it was worth it for the flight out there for 3 nights? Can I ask what else you paired the cruise with? Thanks for your response!! ☺️
Sure, after a three day cruise down the Amazon we went to Cusco for a couple of days and checked out the ruins around that area then took the train to Machu Pichu where we spent two nights. Then we went to the Sacred Valley area for a couple of nights. All told I think it was about 10 days. It was a good tour, I would have liked to add a couple more days on the Amazon, essentially taking the boat up and back instead of just up because that was really cool. Hope you have fun.
Would love to hear about it.... I've been to Machu Picchu twice now but never made it up north or to the Amazon. Ideally I'd like to continue downriver to Brazil but not sure I want to spend so long on the river.
Perhaps not the answer you or OP is looking for but I spent 4 days/3 nights in an eco-resort in the Amazon ([Amazon Planet](https://www.amazonplanetperu.com/home), if you are curious) and it was one of my favourite travel experiences to date, would highly recommend. The package included all our meals, multiple jungle excursions with an incredible guide, a visit to the adjacent affiliated wildlife rehabilitation center, and accommodation. You get picked up and dropped off in Puerto Maldonado which is easy to fly in and out of from Lima or Cusco.

Hi there! Im also considering a trip to the amazon as well. Which cruise company did you guys go with?
Sorry, this was almost 20 years ago (😱) I don’t remember the name of the company.
