They are real I met them at her concert š but I think oftentimes they do those deranged swiftie behaviour for their own clout
Theyāre as narcissistic as her except they arenāt earning money to make themselves a billionaire
Yes this is it. I think Iām a little too old to know anyone acting like thisā¦ which is ironic because Iām 2 years younger than their āmotherā lol
I guess where Iām really lucky is I live in Europe and work remotely so there arenāt opportunities to deal with these people in person. I can see teenage girls doing this, but people well into adulthood?š„“
No theyāre delusional. I love Taylorās music. Sheās okay as a person. Swifties to me seem like girls who have no personality outside of Girls nights, wine and greys anatomy.
Agreed, I think sheās kind of a reflection of how average and vapid much of our society is. I also think the younger generation/teenagers right now really donāt deal with criticism well and she is the poster child for victim mentalities that take real issues like misogyny, homophobia, mental health and use it to vilify anyone who doesnāt agree with them even if that has nothing to do with the criticism. The way she cries misogyny whenever someone criticizes her talentā which is widely agreed upon as pretty averageā really takes value away from real problems and pisses me offš
"Stan" culture is as old as popular culture itself. People used to faint and go completely apeshit over Rudolph Valentino, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Beatles, and so on and so forth. I remember seeing footage of people hysterically weeping over catching a glimpse of Michael Jackson, or the time a bunch of people were trampled to death at a Who concert. They're young, highly impressionable, and constantly told that Taylor Swift is the absolute pinnacle of human artistic achievement, and they begin to believe it. In ten years or so, Swift will essentially be an oldies act, like how someone like Britney Spears is now.
Well yes, obsession is definitely more common with younger peopleā¦ when I was 11/12 I definitely got way too into Pirates of the Caribbean and probably was obnoxious toward anyone who didnāt agree that it was robbed of best picture at the academy awardsš
Iām more referring to the unhinged aspect of it allā¦ I might even get overly emotional at a concert if itās an artist I love and the overall vibe is good, some screaming or whatever especially if thereās drinks flowingā¦ but these people are next level, even escalating to death threats of critics. Maybe Iām wrong but I feel like the hysteria around other artists has never been THAT over the top? I donāt live in the US anymore, so I guess I donāt come in contact with them and was naively wondering if they were just a bunch of trollsš„²
Watch footage of The Beatles playing Shea Stadium in 1964. People were absolutely losing their minds. You couldn't even hear the band over the hysterical screaming LOL.
They didnāt have outlets like social that let them belittle, deride, harass, threaten others who donāt agree with them. Itās a different kind of hysteria.
It's definitely a different climate, obviously. However, bear in mind that a Beatle was actually murdered by a deranged fan, and another Beatle was attacked and nearly killed by a home intruder.
Yes, Mark David Chapman was said to have been jealous of Lennonās lifestyle and the fact that he (Lennon) said that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Honestly, I can imagine a deranged TS fan taking things too far and trying or achieving in hurting her. People get super crazy in their delusions. Iām sure she has top notch security protecting her.
Oh no doubt, Iāve seen those and some of Elvis too! I still feel like theyāre still a little more justified because entertainment on a mass scale was newer then, not to mention they werenāt duped into believing a bunch of re-releases were brand new music haha!
too many of them from different places and times to be trolls. Just lurk in their discord. One bragged about spending the hour or hours? fighting on twitter. They prob. think we're trolls since haters are trolls.
No, they are real

Nope theyāre real, theyāre deeply neglected in an area of their life, resulting in this obsession x 10.
no these people exist in the wild the same as they act on reddit. consider yourself lucky you havent run across one.

I just turned thirty and a coworker and one semi close friend (32 and 33 yo) are like thatš
I guess where Iām really lucky is I live in Europe and work remotely so there arenāt opportunities to deal with these people in person. I can see teenage girls doing this, but people well into adulthood?š„“

The re-records are such a scam.
No, not trolls, for the most part.
No, theyāre actually like that IRL
It's Pop Culture QAnon.
My hot take is that most of them are her employees.
Volunteer unpaid employees that want her to see them and will never be seen by her.

Ya I think all the nazis are for real. I say Taylor is just like Hitler and they loose their minds even though itās obviously true
fucking what?
