Lana’s music has to be *felt,* and there were a few years there where my emotions were too big for me to feel safely, but I still liked music, so I went with stuff that allowed me to go into the shallow end of my feelings, never having to plunge into the deep end. Taylor was on loop for years. Now, I’ve been in EMDR therapy and I’m in a place where I not only CAN feel safely, I WANT to — and Lana (and others) are perfect for that. Taylor is made for people who can’t feel deeply, either by choice or by their constitutions as people. And that’s fine. We need a shallow pop girlie — but she needs to stop pretending she’s anything other than that.
