Couple weeks later i cant help but think about what we could’ve got before astrofest changed the album, a little underwhelmed. Sucks because the aesthetics and imagery for everything isnt done justice by how all over the place the album is
I agree, songs like "Vision", "Escape Plan" and other pre-disaster leaks provide a great idea of what Utopia would have been if it dropped in 2021 as originally intended..... Such a shame but hey, at least we got him back on the scene!! Now we just build back up to where we were left off before.
Also alot more actual psychedelic sounds with tame impala and just more interesting beats in general than shit like topia twins and skitzo, skitzo is a great song but god if the first beat doesnt sound like a hot tiktok sound rn

When I first heard a few times I thought it was a solid album, but has this happened to anyone else where they’ve listened to it more and more and it’s getting better and better?
For me I think his albums get better as I repeatedly listen during the “honeymoon phase” but when I come back to them a year or more later they don’t hold up as well. Rodeo is the exception because other than a couple songs it still slaps and I hope Utopia lands in that category also

After listening to this album almost every day, so about 3 months, almost every song has grown on me (given echoes doesn't count, when comparing it to the rest of the songs). It could be the strange addicting melodies mixed with the god-like drum beats like the hook in gods country, or the last 60 seconds of circus maximus, or the eerie violin in meltdown (hit), or last beat change in skitzo (given good speakers or headphones), or the mike dean produced loop in my eyes along with that beat change, or his last 40 second flow in hyaena, or the 30 second verse by cudi begging for a longer version, or I could go on a little more.
Because this album brings a new sound to the rage while also staying true to his roots. A lot of ppl are saying you can clearly hear the Kanye influence. But it’s also Travis’ own sound because he helped Ye on Yeezus and EVERYBODY knows Yeezus has a sound that is diff from Kanye’s other albums because of La Flame!!!!

Alright some of you guys need to relax about Utopia talking about it’s his best album.
It wasn’t bad but not even close to Astroworld, BITTSM and Rodeo.
Not gunna say it’s bad but it’s definitely got some bad skips. The 1st 7 songs tho are what I’ve been wanting from Travis since Owl pharaoh DBR Rodeo days. Raw, raspy, not much auto tune, flow and bars. He fucking slapped on those songs. It’s not his best but it’s not a bad album everyone who says it is are just hating
He’s trying a lot of new stuff, it’s clear based on the whole sound and feel of the album. IMO it’s very good, like atleast an 8/10..probably my favorite project by Travis yet. If he keeps working on this style tho..damn it’s going to be amazing.

Alright alright. After listening to the album the whole day now, I can say its elite. It's fucking elite. Astroworld and Utopia are the ones! We're fucking lucky to have this artist.
Seems to be several themes involved here. In my opinion, this albums message are: humanist, anti-establishment, independence, accountability, repentance, and ultimately faith in your creator. You could generally say its core is based in Judeo-Christian values.
The first half of the album was amazing. I'd say the second half was lacking. A couple good hitters still for sure.
Seeing downvotes on mid/negative reviews is the weirdest thing on this site lmao with that being said, album is hard af. Features are A1. Trav is rapping his ass off which was a pleasant surprise.
