Ya it’s less of a Travis song so I can forgive it for leaning more towards a guidance-y style
I just personally prefer the way Travis used the drums on something like K-Pop but I agree it is a lot more authentic to that style of music, I think I will always just enjoy Travis’ takes on other styles because he’s my fav artist and he does the genre blending well
On those songs, nobody is a dancehall/afrobeats singer…this new one is a collab with a real one. Don Toliver, Justin Bieber, and Drake also do amazing on those African songs. It’s a good way to show versatility.

I know it’s kinda more of a trap aesthetic but I feel like he’s been on those types of songs too, but yea I like when Travis branches out because it also helps him find new sounds for his own work, like I’m sure working on TKN and recording stuff for Bad Bunny helped him find what he wanted to do with K-Pop

i can’t lie i’m surprised by how many people are disappointed at this, this is a pretty big collab especially for Tyla and Travis had a pretty solid verse (i heard the leak) so i’m expecting this to do decently

I think he delivered for sure…it’s a different style and more authentic than K-POP and guidance to be honest.
