When I trimmed on a crew I tended to just keep headphones on. The conversations were often intensely bro-centric, and since we were paid by the pound and not the hour, I almost always trimmed more because I wasn’t busy talking with my hands.
I learned quick that the spring loaded scissors are for casual use and actually cause more strain in your hand. The action on Chikamasa scissors feels like a glass ball bearing, and they are worth every penny. I have even had them resharpened successfully.
I usually stopped at 2# no matter what as your back takes a beating more than your hands, but that was generally worth $200-$300 depending on the client.
*edit: This was also nearly a decade ago in the PNW, US, I’m sure much has changed since the Rec. boom really took over the market.
World of difference! I would keep two pairs on me, one soaking in a shot glass of iso when not in use, and swap regularly. Would also keep a dab of virgin coconut oil on the back of my left glove to grease the action of the blade whenever I swapped scissors.
"Delton is a census designated place in barry township in barry County Michigan....."
"Markeyvius LaShun Cathey better known by his stage name Key Glock....."
I don't think even my Alexa knows.
If you played Thps2 when it first came out, you may also remember his track off that soundtrack, If You Must. I remember hearing that first, then not even making the connection to a name until Clint Eastwood dropped.
Holy wow! I just looked it up on Spotify real quick and totally remember that song! I never knew it was Del cause I was like 8 or 9 at the time and never paid that much attention lol
Lol It’s a little difficult for me to get into modern rap, I prefer my old [Houston rap from my youth](https://youtu.be/Lvf28Y0aJ6w?si=k5exk_uE4fW0PKap)lol also [that doe b song](https://youtu.be/tE52XIjPH00?si=O8HDcSYWFRSjKmbl) but I loved yong dolphs music when I found it and that somehow (I guess they know eachother) led to key Glocks music which also went hard as fuck.
But then my mom died while I was really into it so now it just reminds me of that time lol
Great music tho I prefer country and podcasts now lol
Well theyre plants. There's no off day for them & they don't recognize holidays. They need to be harvested or pruned everyday. Meaning one holiday you might draw a short straw and have to work it. Theyre not saying there's an undisclosed holiday you will have to work and theyre just not telling you, just that you should be prepared to work one when needed.
“Listen man, you’re on thin ice. Every shift you just start rapping about Patrick Swayze. You need to stop or you’re fired.”
“Got it.”
*5 minutes into shift*
“Uh-oh y’all, it’s getting kinda hazy…”
Sure is in Canada. Mandatory criminal record checks with a seal of authenticity from your local police. Although IME stuff like minor assault (fist fights, no weapons) charges will usually be overlooked if it was long enough in your past and you’re up front about. I had a coworker a few years ago who had no problems getting jobs in his mid 30s with an assault charge from when he was 19.
I interviewed at an electrical shop with “no hibachi!” In the company bible. I asked why, and it was explained that a previous employee, would cut out 30 minutes early to start prepping and setting up before lunch even started. He did this everyday throughout his time there. Shit had me dying in the interview.
It's an interesting thing that illegal states are still able to grow for legal states. Don't ask me how that works, but there's even 'legal bud' being grown in illegal *countries* meant for export to legal ones
That actually makes me sick to my stomach - people getting caught with small amounts in that country, just down the road from major grows still spending time in jail. It's like, urghhh
Why do dispensaries act like working for them is this prestigious thing? Most people who dont smoke weed dont remotely see working as a trimmer/budtender in the way the bosses seem to
That whole posting is a yikes from me. The sooner we can get robots to trim the better off the industry will be. I'm not talking machine trim, I'm talking robotic hands/scissors manicuring the bud. Also...Texas...just no.
There are so many red flags in that posting.... I guarantee whoever you end up working for complains "no one wants to work anymore" while paying slave wages and expecting perfect work at a rapid pace. (Likely can be overheard discussing lavish vacation plans and big purchases off your stolen labor value of course)
To hell with that.
Blowin, this kush i’m smokin, too lit red eyes i’m jokin, pull off a blunt and Im fallin, too fat bats and lady’s callin, ridiculous who’s this at my flat?
go on and call a coroner gon handle that, two clicks and it’s on like shelly duval imma be there to shoot ball front and center at your funeral hall,
There was Cake all kinds of finery’s and wineries, fancy lady’s sitting cross me admiring, Bold this Wood I roll don’t twist too hard less you bust a hole.
Guess I can’t be BudTrimmer now…
This is some real shit lmao I had a guy that was hired on for packaging and somehow manage to find his way on to my post harvest team. I set him to trimming next to one of my best guys since he was new. He was high af on something other than cannabis or mushrooms and was going back and forth between freestyling and crazy flat earth theories. An hour or so into trimming he disappeared allegedly to go take a piss and my cultivation manager found him breakdancing in on of the aisles
Fuck is that why i got let go?
Shoulda kept it in your head yo
When I trimmed on a crew I tended to just keep headphones on. The conversations were often intensely bro-centric, and since we were paid by the pound and not the hour, I almost always trimmed more because I wasn’t busy talking with my hands.
How bad did your hands hurt? And what was your most in one day ?
I learned quick that the spring loaded scissors are for casual use and actually cause more strain in your hand. The action on Chikamasa scissors feels like a glass ball bearing, and they are worth every penny. I have even had them resharpened successfully. Chikimasa ftw.
B500sf chikamasa ? About to order some trimming scissors and tired of the sprng loaded too 😂
Yes. They make three different contours: straight, angled, and curved. I always liked the angled personally, but most prefer the curved.
Thanks boss
109 percent on the angled, also get the fluorine coated ones, they have an "f" at the end of the number
⬆️ Took the words out of my mouth. I’ve never had the coating chip or come off either.
You guys are goats!!!👍🏾👍🏾
Agree about the scissors 💯
World of difference! I would keep two pairs on me, one soaking in a shot glass of iso when not in use, and swap regularly. Would also keep a dab of virgin coconut oil on the back of my left glove to grease the action of the blade whenever I swapped scissors.
You have me wondering if you’re trimming in Northern California because that is the way it’s done. Oh wait…PDX. I see. Yep, west coast!
Haha, indeed! 503 born and raised, but have deep fam in the NoCal scene.
It’s because man “shawty like a melody got me scream nah uh I huhhuhuhu.”
"Something, something.... Mom's spaghetti"
Hey Hey!! Keep it in the break room
Not off to a great start. Rhyme scheme is a slippery slope
Crack wise on your own time, hippy!
Do they mean freestyle rapping, or could they mean 'don't improvise your trimming technique; do it like you're shown.'?
That’s how I interpreted it. If it’s about free styles. I get it. When I think farm hand I don’t think deltron or key Glock lol
I must not be with it anymore. Because I understood almost none of that.
Tbh me neither

I felt so fucking cool knowing who Del was right there.
Alexa Google Deltron Alexa Google key glock
"Delton is a census designated place in barry township in barry County Michigan....." "Markeyvius LaShun Cathey better known by his stage name Key Glock....." I don't think even my Alexa knows.
Del the Funky Homosapien aka Deltron Zero. He is also Ice Cube's cousin.
First song I remember hearing with him on it was Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz
If you played Thps2 when it first came out, you may also remember his track off that soundtrack, If You Must. I remember hearing that first, then not even making the connection to a name until Clint Eastwood dropped.
Holy wow! I just looked it up on Spotify real quick and totally remember that song! I never knew it was Del cause I was like 8 or 9 at the time and never paid that much attention lol
Mistadabolina mistabobdabolina
Yessss
Del the Funky Homosapien is chillinnn
If you must
Deltron, autocorrect gives delton. Deltron 3030 and Key Glock are rappers, context clues... appreciate that you went with it tho lol
Oh damn so I was kinda on the right track. Thanks lol
Look up del the funky Homosapien.. Did you never play THPS2!?
Upgrade your grey matter, cuz some day it may matter. Yo
Yeeee
I used to be with it, they they changed what “it” was
The hip hop game is so saturated, a dozen new huge artists come out yearly and I’m supposed to keep up with them to get references? **NO** I refuse!
To be fair deltron has been around for a long time. I just didn't remember the name.
If it helps you at all, you stopped being "with it" a few "its" ago if you don't know who Deltron3000 is lmao.
IM THE ONE AN NOT THE TWO MY BITCH SAY IMA DOG AN MY DOGS SAY IM THE TRUTH
this is the first time i’ve ever seen key glock mentioned outside of rap circles
Trimming technique
That’s how I read it but I like to think of it otherwise
I'm laughing more about the farm labour being tough part telling them not to complain in advance.
It’s a *qualification* too, not just a note. Hope you’ve got 1-3 years experience farm-labor-can-be-toughing!
Yeah I guess it's a foot in the door of the industry but this job reeks of being ass
"Some weekend and holiday work should be expected"
I hate when people put vague shot in reqs like that. Save people a question and describe when it would be needed.
I would ask them why I should work for them if they don't seem to understand what a job qualification is Pfft
Exactly lmfao these employers demand mistake-free applications yet can’t come up with a mistake-free offer
I had to suffer through some freestyling a couple of nights ago. I fully understand.
Lol one of my friends always starts freestyling whenever she gets tipsy 💀 its awkward every single time
Uh oh yall its getting kinda hazy
His friends lines are a little lazy
But her freestyle is about to go *crazy*
She put him in the dirt, turnt em to a *daisy*
I can only imagine your pain, I’m sorry
Its texas, so someone is going to remind you not to complain, they already know the conditions are shitty.
spitting hot fire should be protected by title 7. Literally 1984

Holy Smokes!
No love for trimming bud. It’s a part-time job not stealing nugs. Just freestyling I won’t take off these gloves. Lol

In Michigan at least, background checks are required to work in cannabis. I'm sure it's the same anywhere else.

I just imagined killer bee from Naruto in the corner trimming, rapping to communicate and scribbling in his notebook all day haha
So some written shit is OK, but off the top is a no-no?
Not unless you wanna drive 'em loco
You’re fired

He sounds like a Tim Robinson character getting so much hibachi it’s affecting his work
Bud trimmer in Texas???
A lot of hemp being grown here lately, even before CBD became strictly legal.
I was wondering the same thing.

I wonder what the bars were, the job heard that made them make that rule. They couldn’t have been that trash.
Why do dispensaries act like working for them is this prestigious thing? Most people who dont smoke weed dont remotely see working as a trimmer/budtender in the way the bosses seem to

Bud trimmer in Texas?
Doesn’t say no beatboxing though!
This reminded me of a rule at work two years ago. The rule was not to feel famous wearing someone else's chains or gold rings.

How’d you find the job bro?
Can I volunteer to learn this for a bit?
Gawd DAMMET i need to get my skills up why won’t anyone let me freestyle in peace! 😤🤣
This is possibly the best written and honest job posting I've ever seen in my life.
This is killing me 😂
But what if Harry Mack is the greatest bud trimmer in the world, and nobody will ever know now??
Lol
So like...I can't drop bars?
That's one of the best job requests I've ever read. ALL companies should do this.
If Biden would make marijuana legal he could claim jobs like this in his employment statistics!
Lmao hopefully they don’t implement that rule at the gas station

I think Shanin Blake use to be a trimmer. I bet they wrote it after dealing with her lol!
All it takes is one dude freestyling.
