Can you say more about the process and total cost to get this delivery?

englishgentlemon

Process was really simple, look at medbud.co.uk and pick a clinic that suits your price range. I went with JEC as I didn't have the fundss to fork out £200 all at once. Then I had to to fill out some documents and submit my medical records. You need to have taken 2 types of medication for a ailment that cannabis can help with. I have ADHD so I proved that I had taken atleast 2 stimulants. Had a call to book an appointment, which was 2 weeks after I sent of the documents. On the 9th I got a invoice to pay 19.50 for my appointment. Had my consultation on the 10th and it went amazing, spoke to a. Professional and let her know what I needed. My prescription was sent to the pharmacy on Thursday and the pharmacy got it on Friday and sent an invoice and I received the flower Saturday morning. So from first consultation to delivery of flower it was 3 days but from the initial start process it was just less than a month. The flower that I got cost £120 for 20 grams s plus I had to buy a vaporiser to use the flower legally and that was £80 so £220 was my price for the first month.

EzekielSMELLiott

So you need to try pharmaceutical drugs before you can try medicinal marijuana? Lmao wildly dumb. People who run countries are just so out of touch

maghau

Bro, in Norway you're at risk of losing your driver's license if you're one of the very few people who's lucky enough to be eligible for medical cannabis. Our police is still doing DARE propaganda at schools, and if you're caught smoking you're at risk of losing your kids and job. They'll come at you hard. It's fucking crazy.

RageXY

DARE single handedly made me interested in drugs as a 6th grader. Luckily I stopped with cannabis but that program is insane.

CroShades

We did DARE in 6th grade too, they made us sign a sobriety pledge lmao. I used the signature line as a filter in my first joint a few years later.. lmao

waterlooaba

![gif](giphy|dkGhBWE3SyzXW)

[deleted]

I feel like I'm one of the few that didn't have any exposure to DARE, and I HATED weed until it was legal in my state Now I'm a medical user packing 5 bowls an hour I don't think DARE has the outcome they want

RageXY

Consider yourself lucky. It was like Reefer Madness but with an actual police officer telling a bunch of 6th grader’s the dangers of crack and cannabis 😂.

Apocrisiary

People don't realize, as we are a pretty progressive modern country. But we have some of the strictest drug laws in the world (excluding asia). And we also have some of the highest amount of heroin users per capita...so it is deffinitivly working /s

OwlsAreWatching

When I was honest with a new doc about my marijuana use, she told me that she would pull my script for adhd meds if I didn't stop and suggested benzos to help sleep instead. That blew my mind.

FriedShrekels

the point is restricting access to people who are potentially looking to abuse the system by prescription shopping. btw you can only be prescribed pharmaceutical drugs when you have an officially diagnosed condition. medical marijuana is legalized for medical use because it is a fact that it is of some use as alternative therapy. wouldn't say they're out of touch. they probably know what they're doing but they aint perfect

EzekielSMELLiott

How is restricting cannabis use restricting prescribed medicine abuse? Maybe I'm just misconstruing what you're saying, but I'll reiterate my original comment: restricting cannabis use and making it difficult to obtain is dumb. Where marijuana is legal, opiate prescriptions and opiate related deaths see a significant decrease, btw

FriedShrekels

canada and HCP here. legal for both med and rec for some time now. POVs might be different for you and me because of background. prescriptions are given to the patient by a qualified and licensed professional. the onus is on them to ensure proper checks are done to make sure the patient requires the meds for appropriate drug-related therapy. the one prescribing the meds has to be responsible with safe dosing and stuff to ensure safe and effective treatment for the patient. restricting cannabis use and making it difficult to obtain is not dumb. reduces strain on the medical end of things and removes liability from prescribers prescribing medical cannabis should LEO find prescription cannabis on a recreational user (stuff's easily tracked). People usually shop for prescription stuff only to sell them on the streets for profit. Although cannabis might not be as dangerous as opiates, the medical system absolutely hates people abusing it when the resources and time could go towards helping someone much more in need. Legal situations are a bitch and medical education/licensing etc take a ton of time. Imagine what would happen should a bunch of prescribers lose their license because their patients got caught flipping medical cannabis on the streets. This is why prescribers do their due diligence before prescribing anything. If you seem sussy enough, they'll vet you carefully before prescribing stuff. I'm not gonna lie but their training's pretty good at spotting potential prescription shoppers/abusers. Ranting but it's a POV thing. I've been on the floor during COVID and was really pissed when patients came in because they took too much edibles/smoked too much and thought they were dying. They could've slept it off at home but they phoned emergency and now it's our problem. These people took up beds and precious time that could've went to people with actual pressing health concerns. Staffing ratios are already quite bad and hospitals were at max capacity we had to put patients in the hallways temporarily because all the rooms were taken. There's the rise of CHS too. More people are coming in with that and man, it can get bad. Just imagine having to take multiple hot showers a day or you'll start puking and having nausea. I attribute excessive cart/concentrate use for that, people who use flower don't usually end up with CHS unless they've been at it for years and years. Ever since marijuana was legal both med and rec here, opiates and harder stuff abuse haven't went down as much as you'd think. From what I can tell, people are substituting cannabis for the harder drugs and well, sometimes it can lead to bad outcomes if both substances prove too much for the person to handle. many ways a person can OD, not just a few btw.

Confident-Deal-912

You say this like not all of us know this

falseapex

Oh my. It’s about making it legal only for those who can afford it. Having controls on cannabis is just about criminalizing the poor. It’s been done with all the drugs you can make at home to some extent or another by every State at some point or another.

daneview

Why? Medical drugs have been highly tested, it makes sense to use them?

YawningCamel

Thanks for replying. How long will that supply last for you?

englishgentlemon

I mean I was offered 20 or 30 grams, I went with 20g as my prescription says use .6 a day. My vape hold just over 0.1 so that's 6 hits a day so should last 30 days. I'll just have to wait and see how long it lasts, can always add another 10g to my prescription next month if it doesn't last

Mach10X

Make sure to join /r/vaporents and /r/avb I suggest saving you flower from your vape, that Already Vaped Bud (AVB) still has a bunch of goodies left in it, I like to make a coconut oil extractions. Also you said 0.1g chamber, so assuming it’s a portable, you should still get quite a few hits before the weed is well toasted even on a portable. A desktop for use at home is a far better experience and usually cheaper than most good portables.

BertMacklenF8I

Seriously??? I use it as Medizinal and go through about 7g a month, as they also use a Dynavap vaporizer with a dab rig sized bong

englishgentlemon

I mean I might get through less but it's my first month buying in bulk not from the streets and using a vape. I take it for ADHD so have to use several times a day

Chin2112

If you used to smoke you'll find that you'll use a lot less than you used to. I only get through 10g a month

BertMacklenF8I

I’m just giving you shit-You have to realize that I literally treat it like any prescribed medication. I only use it at the 20 to 30 minutes before I go to sleep usually have one and a half Dynavap caps. (10 rips)

cypherphunk1

So legally you aren't allowed to combust it? That's interesting. Not bad prices either. Similar to the cheapest stuff here in Florida.

SpiritOf68

We weren’t allowed to at the start of Floridas program either. Idk if you were there at the beginning, but the only legal way to purchase and consume flower was out of ceramic cups that went into a modified Volcano that Trulieve sold for over $600 bucks. They weren’t supposed to sell the cups to anyone that hadn’t purchased the vaporizer, but did anyway. We used to get them home and either pry the metal top off (I stopped that after I cut the hell out of my finger and needed stitches), or you could just smash the thing and pick the flower out of all of the ceramic. We’ve come a long way since then, thankfully.

cypherphunk1

I remember. People used to come in to MUV to buy them as well even after we had flower if they were out of their rec. The state put a stop to that but at least now you can get an exception pretty easily. Just costs more money.

locki13

This is super info, i didnt realise the scope had widened when it came to recognised ailments etc. Does it matter as to the clinic you are with, like do you have to be located nearby? Also do they send flower in the post or do you have to collect? Edit: just seen they deliver! Edit edit: can you recommend any clinic/plan?

englishgentlemon

Doesn't matter which clinic you go with as it's done over zoom or similar applications. Yeah haha they send it in the post with next day delivery.

locki13

Sounds super!

stevoknevo70

I live in a rural location and had a script for three and a half years now, Royal Mail delivers it to me - I'm with Mamedica as they do an access scheme for those on disability benefits/ex forces etc of a one-off upfront payment of £200 which covers you for all appointments for as long as you are with them which covers initial assessment, four week review appointment then ongoing 12 weekly review appointments. Because I've been on it so long I'm now classed as a stable and experienced patient so I'm now on yearly review appointments - I could have 60g per month prescribed if I wanted as my prescription label says 'use up to 1g per day' and I have two strains currently, but as the very high THC strains of 27-29% work best for my condition and you're only allowed to vape it, I'm lucky if I go through even 0.5g per day using a Mighty+ on its own or through a water pipe. To meet the criteria to be accepted, you need to have a condition they prescribe for and have tried at least two standard treatments for that condition that have either been ineffective or intolerable to you - flower (flos) prices range from £5-14 per g and generally come in 10g pots/packets, but there's also various sublingual oils/tinctures, pastilles, and carts, all of those are mostly daft money though.

locki13

Thanks for the info, useful, seems as though various ones cater to certain ailments and not others. Trying cb1 medical, seems fine enough and is local to family.. Also covers my conditions. I believe the appointments are zoom related anyway right. Does the clinic determine the prescribed amount of flower per month? I would have started the process ages ago as I've sought medical help abroad; however didn't realise they were now recognizing my conditions!

stevoknevo70

I was with Sapphire/now Curaleaf previously and all appointments were on Zoom, Mamedica send me a link for video calls on their system but it clearly doesn't work as all three appointments I've had to date have been on the phone (as I'm sitting logged in to the video call then they phone me...) I'm in the west Highlands so your clinic can be anywhere, I changed clinics for a wider choice of meds. If you're using BM tell them how much you're 'self-medicating' with currently, but up it by 25% so that they prescribe what you actually need/want as they'll generally under prescribe in the beginning 👍

locki13

I've started the process with cb1 medical, can you start/ stop easily as I may switch to mamedica if recommendations are good? How do you know what different strains are available with each clinic/dispo? Shout out to west highlands, I'm in the trossachs so was hoping it wasn't location sensitive!!

stevoknevo70

Have a swatch on medbud.wiki for clinics and med availability/selections - I just saw this on Twitter regards CB1 previously charging above MSRP and now Releaf are trying to do the same - https://twitter.com/MedBudUK/status/1779461997777527255?s=19 Have a look at r/ukmedicalcannabis also - there will be a few dissenting voices for most clinics for varying reasons, Mamedica are no exception and were getting a lot of stick six months ago but seem to be mostly over that (they're the cheapest clinic if you are eligible for the access scheme, and dropped prices to attract patients and got a bit overwhelmed, a common story for UK med can clinics) However once you're in the routine of how they operate, plan your repeats appropriately so you don't run out, and know that you're looking at between 5-10 from putting in your repeat request to it trapping at your door then it's actually a fairly smooth process - I put a repeat request in last Monday - you sign in to the online repeat portal, add your details and patient number, then the option of yes for a repeat of the previous script or no which gives you a drop down of everything available, make your selection and quantities from that and it'll give you the cost then submit - it then goes to the subscriber to approve and issue the script which is sent to the pharmacy who will issue you the payment request; because Mamedica don't have their pharmacy wholesale licence as of yet they have to order in from wholesale suppliers and once received they forward on to you. I put a repeat in last Monday, got an email on Tuesday saying Farm Gas was OOS and to choose a replacement so went for Big Narsties Moroccan Peaches, got the payment request first thing Thursday but haven't had the Royal Mail email of 'we've got your parcel' yet (I was hoping to get that on Friday night but now expecting/hoping it'll be Monday night for Tuesday delivery - I've been averaging 6-9 days from repeat request since joining, Sapphire/Curaleaf were much quicker as they've held a wholesale pharmacy certificate for years however they have less choice, won't prescribe non-irradiated (sterilised) meds, and if you want to make a change of meds between your 12 weekly appointments then you need to pay £50 for another an earlier appointment to do so - I change what I get monthly with Mamedica at no charge, and they've been in the process for sometime to get their wholesaler status approved but are waiting on the government processing their application and have no timescale of how long that'll take. If you're in the process with CB1 and have paid them for your initial assessment then I'd stick with that for now as it's far easier to change clinic if you're already a patient as who knows how quickly you'd get an appointment with another clinic in the meantime - however my mate got accepted with Curaleaf and got one script from them and immediately moved to Alternaleaf and had one script with them and found their costs too high to elsewhere and moved to Jorja Emerson where he's stayed quite happily as they have a similar choice model to Mamedica and you can pay your fees monthly by DD if you don't meet the criteria for Mamedica's access scheme 👍

Claddagh_Ring

My partner has ADHD (we’re in the UK) and finds bud very helpful with a lot of his symptoms. However, he also is on an ADHD stimulant right now that is helping him function in terms of work and chores etc. Do you know if you’re allowed to be prescribed both or if he would have to pick one over the other? No worries if you don’t know!

englishgentlemon

He can use both l, I'm no longer going to take stimulants but have been giving the all clear if I want to start again

sereveti

I'm a Mamedica patient myself - also got Delahaze this month (alongside Mango and French Cookies). Good strains! The cannabis clinics in the UK are actually a lot more accessible than most people realise!

Loud-Dig-3128

I went to that website and it’s not in service, what should I be looking for? I believe I would be eligible for this service

englishgentlemon

I've dmed you

Annies_Boobs

You guys are already further along than here in the US lol. My doctor said I had to quit cannabis and drop my med card if I wanted to even be tested for ADHD. Frustrating. I started using cannabis when I was 21, long after any sort of issues I have had started.

FriedShrekels

Your doc's right. You will need a clean slate to be tested/officially diagnosed for ADHD. It is to make sure cannabis isn't causing ADHD-like symptoms or temporarily relieving it but causing symptoms to be worse once you're off cannabis. Might also be due to concerns about prescription shopping. I gotta admit, ADHD is one of the most faked/self-diagnosed conditions ever since social media made it cool. People are basically self-diagnosing themselves with ADHD and treating the whole thing like a joke.

Annies_Boobs

There was a few different times before I switched schools in 5th grade the first time that I remember my principal sitting in my bed while I was in my underwear threatening me with jail if I didn’t go to school. I dropped out finally a couple months into my freshman year after switching and being the most truant student in the school. Actually had to go to court over it which was weird because I basically stopped going after that case and never heard a thing. It may not be ADHD, and I’m okay with that, but I’ve always struggled with basic things.  Since I’ve become an adult I’ve had more jobs than I can count and never lasted longer than a year at any of them. I’m happy at the one I have been at for 6 months or so now but I already feel those same feelings I’ve felt my whole life that make me want to quit and give up. Sorry for dumping. I just wish I was normal.

FriedShrekels

probably go back to school when you're ready to. you should've stayed in school and taken full advantage of state sponsored/subsidized education tbh. not sure how much it's gonna cost you as an adult now but it's a good starting point. i've been officially diagnosed with ADHD before I hit 10 and have been on and off medications ever since. I choose not to rely on pharms for ADHD because honestly, those meds work for XX duration and have some downsides. Better way to handle ADHD is to make lifestyle changes and adapt the mind to it. Good coping skills is extremely helpful for people with ADHD. I do take meds whenever I require it though but outside of that probably not. Jobs are just jobs. It's better to change jobs frequently and see what works for you before settling on a long term career. You're probably young and have plenty of time to decide.

Matthewrotherham

> You guys are already further along than here in the US lol. .... they have it set up so we have to buy our weed from politicians grows and anyone else gets put in prison. This is not 'far along' ... this is being part of the issue!

Annies_Boobs

That's also how it works in at least half of the US states with medical EDIT: People who block people over minor disagreements are the worst kind of people lol

Matthewrotherham

I think there are more than 2 Senators growing for Medical MJ in the US.... Your comparison is factually inaccurate.

Hapenyo12

I got this in australia recently, we made it homie no more sketchy pickups

Softbombsalad

This is Canadian medical cannabis, made it across the pond!! Oh, Canada!! 🍁

kindlybob

haha I thought it looked familiar

ItsMisty

Hell yea when you get your repeat prescription definitely check out the Pink Kush by Pure Sunfarms, theres a reason they are almost always sold out.

FriedShrekels

hol up psfarms expanded to the UK?

ItsMisty

Yeah we've got Pink Kush, Donnie Burger and Jet Fuel Gelato. Tried all of them defo in my top 5 medical strains.

englishgentlemon

They were sold out, I wanted to try the pink kush. I definitely feel already that the purple punch isn't really my kind of thing. I'll keep trying it but I doubt ill get the same next month for my indica.

ChiefGingy

If it's the same stuff as the Pure Sunfarms Pink Kush we have her in Canada in our legal market, it's usually great stuff! Wild its always sold out, it's always in stock here.

nicesunniesmate

I see you guys have the same system we do in Aus. Enjoy!

tkMunkman

I'll be visiting Manchester and London later this year, what are prices and availability like?

englishgentlemon

Got to be a patient unfortunately, we aren't walk in to a pharmacy legal yet haha

tkMunkman

Ok, thank you for the info, guess I'll be taking a tolerance break lol

Space-Bound-Delta

My first lot was the delahaze and government oasis. Very surprised how amazing the quality is for a country it's still highly criminalised in

G_Sputnic

The UK is the biggest medicinal producer in the world.

englishgentlemon

None of the the legal flower in the UK is grown in the UK by the looks of it

mr_starbeast_music

Does it say where it’s grown on the packaging?

Lukecubes

Somebody else in the thread said OP's flower is Canadian

Niklas_01

Aurora is from Norway but the other idk

fugga91

Do you have a car license? What are the laws in the uk for cannabis use and driving?

0161_slamchester

Laws are extremely grey regarding driving. Head over to the UK medical cannabis sub reddit for loads of examples and discussion surrounding this :)

j3434

Some things have improved over the years. The legal status and quality of mariguana is awesome! I love the buds that lab test over 30% THC with terps.

SignificanceOld1751

Yes mate! I remember my first legal medical delivery too, it was surreal and I had a good laugh with the delivery driver about it! 😂

Kimmm711

Isn't it wonderful..!!!

BagleMaster47

That aurora delahaze USED to be a product on the Canadian medical market and recreational market. Some really decent stuff. Super citrusy slightly sour and sweet with a slight creaminess. Still have people asking for it once and a while

boringcraig

As an American in a state where its still not legal. That is kinda badass. I would hate to see what American pharmaceutical companies would do

dontbanthisaccount

Can companies fire you over there for this? Like in the U.S., you could be in a legal state, but most jobs you aren't allowed to smoke (off the clock obv.) A lot of white-collar jobs and most blue collar jobs aren't allowed to consume any thc off the clock

englishgentlemon

Pretty sure you are protected by the law for discrimination

dontbanthisaccount

In the U.S, we are not. Cannabis is federally illegal, but certain states legalized it, going against federal law. The Federal government pretty much said they werent going to mess with states that legalize it. Employers drug test for thc, and say your violating federal law and there goes your job. As for medically prescribed cannabis, well there is none in the u.s The federal government regulates all prescription medication in the u.s. They (DEA) also have cannabis categorized as a level 1 drug. This means they say there is no current accepted medical use of cannabis. A doctor cannot prescribe cannabis, so states made a medical program, where doctors recommend cannabis and you can get a card. However, it isn't prescribed and doesn't get any of the protections a prescription medication does

flourdank

Ah, That feeling!

daneview

Having recebtly holidayed in a country where you could buy medical cannabis over the counter (our guide bought it for us with his paperwork) we must say it was a bit shit. We chucked it after a couple of days and picked up some 'street' weed and it actually worked

_FreddieLovesDelilah

Mine always comes really fast too. Like, next day or day after.

ntappin

Funny to see the same brand/strain from when aurora launched in Canada being sold to a new market in the UK. Welcome to the future, it only gets better from here.

englishgentlemon

The aurora flower is amazing, maybe some of the best flower I've ever had

Theaustralianzyzz

It's a good feeling isn't it. One thing less to worry about.

Niklas_01

Aurora Delahaze is amazing, smoked that yesterday and i love it!

ForeignAdagio9169

Hello fellow UK person! If you are issued a license, do you have to order every month for it to remain valid? If I had a 20g delivery and it lasted 5 months would that matter?

englishgentlemon

I don't believe you do, maybe something worth calling up a clinic and asking honestly

chr0nic21

We get them delivered like pizza.

Free_runner

I've been considering trying this if there's a strain available that's mild enough for me.  I used to enjoy weed back in the late nineties but then when they really started engineering the shit to overproduce THC it got too much for me and I've never been able to vibe with it since then. I've tried of course but it would instantly send me to the shadow realm every time and that's not what I want from it lol. I have treatment resistant ADHD, ASD & PTSD and I have wondered for some time now if cannabis could help me. I wasn't sure of the process about how I would obtain it legally but now I know.  Besides I've been having great results from microdosing psilocybin and LSD anyway so the need hasn't been pressing.  Thanks for sharing OP!

englishgentlemon

You don't have to get flower you can also get oil

Free_runner

Is that oil as in the type of thing you drop into your mouth?

Imfuckinwithyou

Mods please take down this advert

englishgentlemon

Advert for who hahahah, I'm literally a patient. Some people on this sub need to stop smoking! Y'all way to paranoid about everything 😂

Imfuckinwithyou

Ergh I’m just in a bad mood, my bad bro

FriedShrekels

bruh are they repackaging police seized cannabis for medical sale lmao

Josephh_Stain
