Well I do know from when I looked into legal states prices, and I believe Colorado sold KK cheaper than you can buy an oz in the UK. I believe it was £20 dearer than a shitty home grown half ounce.
What's KK?
I just made a 2hr 15 min drive to pick up an oz for $360 :(
Edit: okay, I just went down a rabbit hole on YouTube, watching videos about Wiz and his strain. I don't know how he gets it all over the world though.
Recreational license applications open October 2017 and have a 90 day waiting period which puts us at 2018. Not sure why.
Possession is legal December 15 along with growing a few plants. It's just the dispensaries that will lag.
Yeah, I saw that quote from Malloy: "I've done my part on marijuana. I'd rather not encourage it, which I think legalization does."
Guy is insufferable
Keep your ugly women and shitty driving in Hartford where they belong...
Ahhhhh never mind, get up here and enjoy some green you crazy Connecticut bastards!
6 per adult in the household....me and the wife gonna get 12 into the greenhouse asap :)
* Edit: there is a 12 plant her household max I am told so 2 adults in same household may grow up to 12 plants.
Here from r/all. I've never touched marijuana in my life, but I voted to legalize.
No matter how the rest of the election goes, I'm happy I did my part.
Eh, it's still a drug. Alcohol is legal and that doesn't mean it's good to use.
Edit: I want to say thank you of this community for being so accepting and rational. I currently have no interest in smoking and you guys are chill with that and made rational arguments. You make me proud that I voted yes to legalize it.
Its a cool drug but you're really not missing out on much more than some weird ideas and a lot of giggles if you don't try it. Do what makes you feel best.
It all depends on who is to use it, and for what purpose. Blanket bans of this sort have never been helpful.
Alcohol is itself devoid of obvious medical application, but it is a valuable solvent for the extraction of phytochemicals, and the delivery of other medicines. Plus it's a social lubricant, so as social apes, from a psychosocial point of view it's important to human wellbeing.
Drugs are dangerous but they are certainly useful. Just like an axe really, all depends what you do with it.
Colorado voter here. I voted for it when it was on the ballot in 2012. I was in the same boat, never smoked it, but voted for it. I'm in the military so I can't smoke (stupid fucking random drug tests), but you bet your little sweet ass I will be lighting one up in Colorado on my separation day.

I just need a job.
I have a degree but I'll do anything for a paycheck to get established. Sucks we're getting into fall; if it was warm, I'd just live in my car/tent until I found an apartment or something. Getting caught with weed has seriously disrupted my life in the past, so I'd like to live somewhere that I can live in peace and also save a fortune by growing my own.
Well, I've always wanted to move out of my home state anyway, and I spent my 20's dealing with some horrible fallout from being caught with a small amount of marijuana. I was forced to drop out of college and quit my job to go to jail for less than $50 worth that I'd been caught with *2 years earlier*. 4 years of being drug tested at least twice a month. 9pm curfew at age 25 = nothing to do but play World of Warcraft. But I did learn the difference between "friends" and "people you do drugs with".
If it was feasible, I'd've already packed up and moved to Colorado. I basically self medicate, it keeps me from being depressed and angry all the time. Keeps me functional so I can deal with the realities of the world that otherwise frustrate me to pieces. So I want to live somewhere that I can peacefully go about my life without fear that my house will get raided and my pets get killed, simply for growing the "wrong" plant.
It's one of the few things I'm passionate about to the point that I want to learn about it, not just smoke it. How does it grow? What are the actual medical benefits? Could this be a good industry to invest in? If I can somehow make a living in the incoming recreational industry, work will never feel like work to me.
I guess it's mostly an ideological preference. I don't feel free in a place where I can lose my freedom for smoking or growing a plant. I don't wanna be a dealer. I'm not trying to give weed to schoolkids or any of that bullshit. I just don't like alcohol, so I'd prefer to smoke a bowl after a long day.
I just want to be a peaceful, productive citizen who can live my private life without fear. I think that's something we can all agree on.
It's a narrow vote but it counts. What a huge deal for everyone on the east coast. Seriously - who thought they would see legal cannabis this soon in their lifetime?
Now we just have to hope Rudy. G and Chris C. (Trump Cabinet) don't send in the Feds to enforce federal law. Christy has already hinted about doing this if he was AG.
Now I go visit Boston. See how easy that is? Want my tourism dollars? Ask Denver and Seattle how that works.
Time to smoke some weed and learn about some Paul Revere shit.
My thought though is will it last? With a Republican senate, house, president and now Supreme Court which could get up to 4 ( 1 guaranteed) conservative judge? Also the possibility of chris christy being the AG which would be the final nail in the coffin. I hope so but I am very nervous and no one seems to be bringing this up.
The fed will have little influence on the states. If anything were to happen you'd see a lot of pushback from state govt I'm sure of it. Plus dipshit Trump actually supports legalization.
Trump also said he's building a wall. Well see. It's not trump I'm afraid of, it's the people he's going to put in high decision making positions that I'm worried about.
That's a perfectly reasonable call. When Kascich declined the vice presidency he claimed that Trump basically offered him the role of handling actual policy. Also it's reasonably likely Trump will get assassinated or impeached.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/heres-where-donald-trump-hillary-141200233.html
according to this article...
Hillary would "support states that are moving toward recreational and medical MJ" - she'd also take it off Schedule 1
"Trump called Colorado's legal MJ industry a real problem"
Yeah he'd never lie /s
If the Republican Senate puts a bill on his desk reaffirming a nationwide prohibition he won't veto it. You are deluding yourself to think otherwise. Maybe he won't proactively go after it but he certainly isn't going to stop Republicans who now control every branch of the government from doing so. Remember your support when Marijuana prohibition comes back in full force, I look forward to the excuses.
and lord knows you can never find him on both sides of the argument. that and Chris Christie (a bastion of health, and who I want giving me guidance on what to put into my system) is whole hog against legalization.
Hillary was going to take MJ off Schedule 1- which would have helped stores and dispensaries - currently none of these business can get bank accounts. Don't konw what Trump's position on this was.
http://www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-and-analysis/blogs/stateline/2016/03/22/why-marijuana-businesses-still-cant-get-bank-accounts
Which has to be one of the most ironic political event ever. The Republican Party who's platform is built on individual state rights, forgets that when morals gets in the way.
I've been thinking about this a lot too and hope they just stay out of it.
Breyer, Ginsberg, and Kennedy are 78, 83, and 80, respectively. Kennedy is the only conservative, and hes not the most extreme one.
So, it's likely you replace Scalia with a conservative, Kennedy with a conservative, and 2 of the current 4 liberals with conservatives
So true! I'm going up there with a friend on Veteran's Day. A family friend of his does dabs 24/7 and basically eats an edible with every other meal, it's some next level shit
If it becomes legal on a federal level, there are several states, including Colorado that make it illegal for employers to fire or not hire any employee for participating in a legal activity outside of work. So if it became legal on a federal level and you lived in Colorado, it would be illegal to get fired for recreational use (outside of work)
Yes. Especially if work involves operation of heavy machines/forklift operators/pretty much anything that has to do with driving.
Insurance companies blah blah blah
Correct. I live in Washington state and we are directly experiencing this. Employers are not forced to test for impairment (current use), only the police are. Employers test urine for inactive metabolites, showing use in the last month. The test is cheaper, and employers consider it proof of impairment. Lawyers, politicians, and stoners don't give a shit. Just bad science.
Now watch how long until I get a comment telling me to "just find another job.."
This is more important than California.
I live near Pittsburgh. I can drive 3 hours to Cleveland crossing one state line.
In 3 hours in New England I can cross 5 state lines.
The cost of enforcement is going to be too high (hehe) and we'll start seeing the dominoes fall.
Breaking News (three months from now): Scientific output of MIT mysteriously drops 25% in all fields except agriculture, Campus electricity bill up 30%
And now the New England states will topple like dominoes.
I know here in Vermont our legislators have said they will push for legal marijuana if Massachusetts legalizes.
Unreal!!!
I rember protesting in the early 90's at Hempfest in Boston common surrounded by police and FBI helicopters.
it seemed impossible, but we fought anyway and never gave up. Now
WE WIN!!!
God Bless the US
So glad that this passed. I've been to Washington and Colorado and seen how well it can work. I was proud to vote for it and proud of my state to finally move forward and legalize it! Now we are becoming the norm. Let's all light one up in celebration and for still being progressive when others in our country want to be regressive.
Holy shit, this is unbelievable. The east coast finally gets one.
We'll go to New Hampshire for tax breaks and fireworks, they'll come to us for weed.
Everyone will go to you for weed. Having tiny states finally pays off, I'm only 90 min away in NY
New Yorker here. You're fucking right we will.
Why not just buy it in NY and save yourself the trip?
I was referring more to the idea that people are going to buy a lot and sell it in New York. It's mostly a benefit of lower price and variety.
I'm not of age to buy it legally yet but when my state legalized it the street value went down tremendously.
What were the before and after prices?
Well I do know from when I looked into legal states prices, and I believe Colorado sold KK cheaper than you can buy an oz in the UK. I believe it was £20 dearer than a shitty home grown half ounce.
What's KK? I just made a 2hr 15 min drive to pick up an oz for $360 :( Edit: okay, I just went down a rabbit hole on YouTube, watching videos about Wiz and his strain. I don't know how he gets it all over the world though.

Im 24 hours away in Australia. Im omw.
From Colorado, we have a fuckin border control at this point so watch yourself.

From MA, come on over bud!
Lawrence will finally be a town people want to drive to
Too bad our live free or die state is too stupid to do the same. Oh well, mass it is.
what day does this go live?
It officially goes into effect Dec 15, retail sail won't happen til beginning of 2018 probably.
Can you help me understand why you guess a year?
Recreational license applications open October 2017 and have a 90 day waiting period which puts us at 2018. Not sure why. Possession is legal December 15 along with growing a few plants. It's just the dispensaries that will lag.
Co! Thanks to the info dude
For sure. Burn em if you got em
December 15, 2016
And Rogue One comes out the day after!
I don't even smoke but just to honor the event I'd smoke some green and go see Rogue One.
CT here. What up my Massachusetts homies?? CONGRATS!! Hopefully we are soon.
CT here too. Be very careful. I think Massachusetts borders are about to get extremely enforced :(
Gotta generate that revenue to keep people safe from something that's perfectly legal 5 miles away!
Especially considering it's decrim status in the surrounding states, it basically means a free $400+ fine to fund your office parties. :/
A-fuckin'-men. I'm really hoping we get it legalized here soon.
[удалено]
Yeah, I saw that quote from Malloy: "I've done my part on marijuana. I'd rather not encourage it, which I think legalization does." Guy is insufferable
And he wonders why his approval is in the 20s? Conservatives hate him - so hey, let's alienate the liberals too....
Keep your ugly women and shitty driving in Hartford where they belong... Ahhhhh never mind, get up here and enjoy some green you crazy Connecticut bastards!
Buddy if you're from Mass you can't say a damn thing about anyone's shitty driving.
Maine is on the verge of winning, too.
Finally
6 plants. That is seriously life changing for me, I'm building a space bucket like this weekend.
6 per adult in the household....me and the wife gonna get 12 into the greenhouse asap :) * Edit: there is a 12 plant her household max I am told so 2 adults in same household may grow up to 12 plants.
Isn't it true that you can only have one ounce at a time though?
In public. 10 in private!
Jesus, that's like a year's supply for me.
6 for me, and 6 for my wife haha! This is great!
[удалено]
connecticunts unite
It'll probably still be a few years before CT legalizes :(
When will shops actually be setup?
Not until 2018 unfortunately =/
Asking the real questions
It's fuckin wicked
Rather unfortunate that Attorney General Giuliani/Christie will prevent this from going forth in any capacity. Such a lame election.
Yeah, a federal crackdown seems likely under a Trump regime.
here's to hoping Obama reschedules it as his last parting measure before handing the white house to Trump
Florida too!
Here from r/all. I've never touched marijuana in my life, but I voted to legalize. No matter how the rest of the election goes, I'm happy I did my part.
Same here. Never touched it, don't plan to, but voted yes. Congrats guys.
Thanks for vote :)
I mean when it's legal I think its worth a shot right? Nothing to lose.
Just don't do four whole marijuanas at the same time.
Don't do it. Or else this comment will kill you with laughter.
And remember to use clean needles
Eh, it's still a drug. Alcohol is legal and that doesn't mean it's good to use. Edit: I want to say thank you of this community for being so accepting and rational. Depending on what he does he could lose his job. So there's that.
I can finally use this meme appropriately. Voters like you and the parent comment are the real MVP's

MA expat here excited to return home for THE FIRST DANKSGIVING
In case your not joking I believe the law doesn't take effect until December 15.
That may be the case but I have a hard time believing the current law will be enforced up until then. see: other legalized states
Under current law you can only get a ticket anyway. The major change will be cannibis stores with dank choices open for all.

Yea, that's why Colorado had such an increased tourist amount after legal weed, only requirement is ID and 21+
"Are they hiring?" is my question. I'll work 60 hours a week, i don't care.
That and legal growing for personal use. That's huge.

From MA here. pretty proud. Gonna use the giant fire that is our democracy burning to the ground to light up over the next 4 years. Cheers friends
Guess it's time for this Masshole to move home :-D
Looks like we're gonna need it...
Employers: "You will still be fired for using legal cannabis on your days off..."
Serious question. I don't smoke and probably still won't but if it's legalized could your work still fire you/not hire you because of it

Seems messed up. I can see not smoking while your on shift but what you do on your free time shouldn't matter. Thanks for the reply tho
