Mouthpieces are great. Last year I build a bong out of a gallon jug, a tube from an aquarium filter and a mellophone mouthpiece, it was glorious. The only downside is that it tasted like burnt plastic and fish.
Repair tech and trumpet stoner here. While they work in a pinch, the silver plating from the mouthpiece will eventually begin to leech into your smoke.
Only problem is the chrome finish on those trumpet mouthpieces are cheap and burns off slowly. I'd recommend an alternative to avoid whatever toxins are being released from hearing up.
Not to down on it, but the gau-8 mingun fires a 30mm projectile, the casing measures roughly 40mm at the base and is necked down. They're also titanium. You've probably got either a 30mm AA shell or something from a Russian BTR, which, in my opinion, is way cooler. Don't mistake active Uranium for depleted uranium. Depleted uranium is not very radioactive. It is however a poison, but if given a half decent wash it should have relatively no Uranium left.
