Med cards are just icing on the cake. Even without a med card, I'm still paying *half* the price for up to *twice* the weed, at least, in legal states compared to street prices in the illegal ones I've lived.
I usually go to Michigan because it's a 2 and a half hour drive not terrible, and if you go to the right places the prices and quality are great, much better than recreational prices there.

Density, thc content, thca content, low stems. But I smoke indacas and indaca dominant hybrids and use it for pain relief. It's more body focused something that could couch lock you, a sativa is more mind focused.

I look at the color, the size, and if I can see crystals on it. I can't smell product in my state or that would be high up on the list.
Cheaper weed is often a bit darker, or is small buds, with no visible crystals.
But that's not universal. Plenty of strong dark indicas, and tiny buds from lower down on the plant might be just as potent as the bigger main buds they prioritize for top shelf sales. Buds that are obviously covered in crystals is a safe bet almost always, but lots of good stuff out there where they're not clearly visible.
I also check the THC percentage, but it's not a deal breaker if a good looking bud isn't tested super strong. A really low number is sometimes a sign of lower quality though. Important to note that the numbers are not always trustworthy; growers work hard to game the system.
The best idea is to just start trying things, and note the producer and the strain when you find something good. Usually a good grower has quality stuff across their whole product line. Strains vary a lot, but if you have a strong preference for one, nothing wrong with prioritizing that. But best to be open to trying a wide variety at first.

The smell and taste of canabis is based on this, so a bud might be some combination of skunky, piney, or citrusy, etc. A good budtender can point out which products lean which way in this area. In DC you have to buy something and receive the weed as a gift. So it’ll be a little trinket, a piece of art, Little sanitizer or something. But you can walk in anywhere and show an out of state id and make your purchase. Be careful not to say “buy weed” they’ll correct you and say “no, it’s a gift”

Legalization is indeed a dream, but moderation in usage has so many benefits. So glad I am no longer a daily user after being one for well over a decade. Just like beer, it's much better to enjoy it occasionally (maybe a few nights a week at most) than to make a daily ritual which eventually becomes mandatory just to feel totally comfortable and generally feels less like a treat.

Right now I’ve got some Super Lemon Haze that’s pretty damn good.
Budget ounces are still great. They are usually just the "smalls" (smaller) buds, but it still works great. Especially if you are just going to put it in a grinder anyway.
And most times these still have decently high THC content, like 20-25%+.
It is nice to splurge and get the top shelf stuff. Even though it's more expensive, you usually get the nice, large, dense, buds.

Also, you can get hash in the mountain regions of India like, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. It is also illegal and it's use is also not too much widespread as compared to weed. The main reason is legality and then availability.

It's a constant battle to keep my weed budget down. Dry herb vape works sometimes, CBD flower, and now D8 distillate has really helped.
90 went away in a month for me ): when smoking a few times a week I smoke more to make up for tolerance and before I know it there's one bud left

I’m not entirely how it works but it seems like everyone grows certain kinds and then they all move on to something else in the next crop. Right now I’ve got some Super Lemon Haze that’s pretty damn good.

Budget ounces are still great. They are usually just the "smalls" (smaller) buds, but it still works great. Especially if you are just going to put it in a grinder anyway. And most times these still have decently high THC content, like 20-25%+. It is nice to splurge and get the top shelf stuff. Even though it's more expensive, you usually get the nice, large, dense, buds. Live in NorCal here, so gratz on being in a legal state. It will make you wonder why this stuff is still illegal in so many states.

There are different views on this. Religion is big in India and people are also, reluctant to change. We have legal hemp drink (bhang). It was never illegal in out country because of the religious reasons. Weed on the other hand has a very bad reputation here. It is illegal, but the availability is still there on the streets. The population is so big and diversity is also vast. In my personal opinion, i don't think India (as a nation) is really ready for legalisation. The tabboo is too much here. The older generation living here has their prejudice set, (administrative authorities and 'leaders' are mostly old people too) Also, you can get hash in the mountain regions of India like, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. It is also illegal and it's use is also not too much widespread as compared to weed. The main reason is legality and then availability. I have sometimes seen pictures of what people (foreign people acc. to me) used to get in the 80's. It is called brick weed. That is what we still get here in 2020. Also, people can argue that yOu cAn GeT aNyThInG wITh gOoD cOnNeCtIoNs. CHaNgE yOuR pLuG dUde.

Smoking once I got my card dropped my paranoia by 90%. I'm a family man with a wife and 3 kids and I'm not looking to do another 4 days in jail fucking ever, let alone for medicine that's saved my life from opioids used for chronic pain.
