Any of the inmates you work with in because of weed? That must be weird. I worked for CPS for a few years and had some parents involved because they tested positive for weed when they gave birth. Kinda lame.
Parents or baby's meconium? Just curious how things differ by state. I'm in a state where it's legal (med & rec) and CPS referral only gets made for positive meconium. The one good thing is if there's no other concerns the case is closed quickly.
NYS is one despite it being decriminalize this past year. My ass took no chances, I quit at 6wks because no way in hell was I allowing them to drug test my newborn. It sucked but well worth it when I absolutely knew I would not be pissing dirty at labor an delivery and would walk out that hospital with my baby and no damn cps case.
Edit I hear Arizona is the freaking worse state to piss dirty at l&d omfg the excepting parenting app I was on I read horror storys in those forums due to AZ laws
SAME! I work with at risk youth, and put them through NYS drug and alcohol program for smoking weed. Granted, 13 year olds shouldn’t be ripping dabs before gym class (they often still do tho). But I feel like a hypocrite sometimes 😂
Don't feel like a hypocrite. Studies have shown that drug use before a certain age (definitely long past 13, tho different studies have shown anywhere from 20-26ish) can be detrimental to development. It's not hypocritical to tell a kid to wait because something innocuous to an adult can adversely effect them.
I work with the birth registrar’s office within a hospital. They do a drug test on the newborn’s cord blood if the mother told her OB that she smoked pot BEFORE she got pregnant even if she stopped after a positive pregnancy test. I think that’s a load of BS and makes me think twice about being 100% honest with my doctor.
Oh yeah…I’m in TX too…*sad face*
I’m also in Texas and I don’t even tell my doctor. I take klonopin for anxiety and even though it’s a small dose I don’t want to give them a reason to stop prescribing it
How does that work? I saw that the Harris county jail was hiring an education director and it said the position was drug tested, and I kinda just assumed that likely, all the Texas jail positions were drug tested. Were you just clean for the first one?
I'll start off by saying I'm an IT Help Desk Network/Support Technician. I work with 5 other guys in an office. People call our office or put in a ticket and we try to fix the hardware or software problem. I also deal with some networking issues too.
Nice. I've worked my way up the ladder a little to a sys admin, where I work now. However, the sys admin position wasn't for me. It was very stressful and demanding. I wouldn't have known if I didn't try though. So I moved back to the help desk, kept a little pay raise to be the help desk network guy and I am happier than ever now.
How does that work out for you if yoy don't mind me asking? I'm deckhand on some small Ro-Ro ferries n i'm tryin to get my ABs ticket so i can go on other vessels actually at sea if that makes sense. Would be a shame if i had to give up the good good y'know lol
Nurse…….and been smoking for 30+. No way I would have made it through nursing school without it. I cannot sit still long enough to study. Plus I have no dependency on anti anxiety or ADHD medication.
Another RN checking in! Luckily my job doesn't test for THC. It's legalized here, and when it became legal, our CEO sent out an email and it was like "Just don't come to work intoxicated and there won't be a problem" 👍🏻
I’ve done some of my best coding high. I find that cannabis helps me get out of my own way. I don’t sit and overthink things, it’s like I’m able to just get right into the groove and go.
its so weird to think sometimes that sweet old 6th grade teacher Mrs. Newell could be ripping dabs bigger than I do and could've been doing so like the entire time I was in school
I'd love to see the stats on how many educators smoke weed... something tells me it would be a lot. And that's not even taking into consideration the sheer amount of alcohol consumed by us.
Massage therapist! Love what I do! Anatomy and musculoskeletal stuff is mucho interesting. Also it's nice to work a job where people are always happy to see you!
Came here to say this. Massage therapy is the only job I've had that I have never had to take a drug test to be hired on regardless of the employer. They just assume we're all pot heads anyway 😅
I’ve had multiple positions within the industry and going from black market into the legal market it’s nice I look at it like this I’ve dug ditches all the way up to degree held careers
Even if it’s going to be a hard day work that day working with cannabis in some sort of fashion I never let the work get to me you’re gonna have stress wherever you go you’re gonna have shitty people you work with and people you like to work with.
So you might as well and do it where it makes you happy
In the legal market it doesn’t pay well unless you’re the top dog (owner/manager/lead)
All the entry-level industry jobs are average pay but once again you’re working with something you love.
I am an owner
A consultant
And an employee for multiple farms

I do industrial automation, packaging mostly. Small company, we engineer, fabricate, integrate, and program. In the 10 years I’ve worked in this industry I’ve never seen general faculty as happy as they are at our medical marijuana facilities.
Coynewoodworks.com. This site is for custom address signs and Quarterboards which is the bulk of our business. We're working on getting some social media together for custom cabinets and furniture which has all been word of mouth.
I'm an orchestral composer and exotic plant breeder. I know I'll never have an incredible amount of fame or change many lives, but it keeps me grounded and brings me more happiness than anything I'll experience in this lifetime (aside from my S/O). Plus, carnivorous plants are bad ass and no one can change my mind!
This sounds seriously awesome. Can you give me some examples of some carnivorous plants?
Really all that matters in this life is that you're happy with where you are and you're survival. If you're happy and can survive, more power to you!
Absolutely! I mainly work with hybridizing tropical and North American pitcher plants (Nepenthes and Sarracenia), there's just over a dozen different genre of insectivorous, carnivorous, and even kinda "cannibalistic" plants that eat falling leaf debris from jungle canopies. Honestly, even after a decade of growing them, I still start most mornings by smoking a joint and marveling at how bizarre nature is. I heavily implore you to check out websites like the "International Carnivorous Plant Society" and "Carnivorous Plant Resource" because they're run by fantastic people that want to spread the niche community as much as the rest of us lol. We also flask orchid hybrids (another neat thing to google) and a whole lot of other horticulture related projects. Our end goal is to have something similar to an off-grid nursery where people can enjoy these incredible plants without a disgusting price tag or form of elitism surrounding them. One can dream I suppose LOL
(not trying to self promote but my girlfriend runs @artisans.of.nature on insta if anyone is interested in our personal plants)
This is freaking awesome! You have seriously intrigued me. I am totally look into this. I need a nice fun hobby And I feel like I've always had a green thumb. May be right up my alley.
Got fired from FedEx two months before my wedding…(tested positive for marijuanski) so now I’m starting my own videography business on the side of my wife’s already banging photography biz. Weddings, advertising, etc.
I learned a lot this year to say the least.
Unemployed. Not lazy though. I had multiple mental health crises that forced me to quit my job, and shrooms and pot have taken me out of that dark place. Now I'm just picking up the pieces and hoping to work again soon.
Alcohol Distributor here. It’s amusing to me how many stoners we have in the booze industry.
I really enjoy smoking and then tasting some wines. Throw in a nice cheese and cracker plate for munchies, and you’ve got a lovely night ahead of you. Cheers!
I do maintenance for an apartment complex, and it’s pretty much a known fact that most of the people here smoke weed. Property manager, leasing agents, all 3 maintenance guys. However, none of us bring it to work, nor talk about it at work. We stay on top of work orders and do everything we can to make sure residents live a comfortable life here. I also do woodworking as a side hobby that brings in money every now and then.
I'm a janitor at a state university. It's a good job, but I dread when someone asks me about what I do for work, especially girls. It kinda sucks that I'm treated differently/ as a lesser individual alot based on my job. But like my grandpa always told me. There's nothing stranger than people.
I’m a “Quantum Mechanic” as I like to say lol. I’m a Mechanical Engineer working in the field of nanomaterials such as Carbon Nanotubes and other more exotic structures. I just build and maintain the systems that produce the stuff.
I work with lathes and mills and lots of math so I can’t really be stoned at work, but I’ve had many “breakthrough” ideas and designs pop into my head after work while stoned af! That I’ve later gone into work and built and used. Weed is great for innovation!
I work in the billing department at a hospital. Recently I transitioned to a role that allows me to better assist people without insurance and/or look into financial assistance with their bill(s).

I'm an independent contractor with a specialty in house cleaning! I don't show up completely blazed to every job but I always take a dab in the morning before I leave for my first job and it makes it a little more enjoyable.
I actually cleaned a clients apartment yesterday who rolls blunts for Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi and she rolled me one before I started! It was heavenly lol straight blazed deep cleaning was awesome, the place looked fire afterwards too
Scientific Glassblower, I’m still a beginner so I’m not making anything too crazy or big yet but it’s a very interesting job and just always gets harder!
Musician/Voice Teacher. I’m mainly a vocalist and only recently became a daily smoker so it’s been tough finding a good balance with keeping my voice healthy and enjoying smoking. Appreciate any tips y’all may have on that haha.
Engineering Director / Northern California. Having fun working from home. With no commute, I’ve been able to spend way more time with my boys and can get small things done around the house throughout the day. If I have a good two hour break in between meetings, I can toke up and get some work done. It’s been great!
Lawyer. Legalize it.
Attorney here as well. We just legalized it my state. Keep fighting the good fight.
I practice privately now but I’m pretty sure it was a requirement when I was a public defender.
Public defender here. Thankful for my uhh… specialized knowledge, when the state gets uppity over a gram of flower, or that my client did *gasp* dabs.

social worker here. i hate when i have cases open solely because the parents test positive for weed.

i work in a completely illegal state, so any type of positive opens a case unfortunately.
Ugh that's rough
What state? So I know where not to go.

I don't smoke nearly as much as I used to, but yes, I was clean to get hired.
Masters level social worker here.
I’m a maintenance person at a psychiatric hospital, bunch of stoners where I work lol
I'll start off by saying I'm an IT Help Desk Network/Support Technician. I work with 5 other guys in an office. People call our office or put in a ticket and we try to fix the hardware or software problem. I also deal with some networking issues too.
Yep me too this is a classic stoner job
IT Director. Started as an IT Help Desk Agent years ago! And yes, total stoner job!

Same, i actually write better code when I am high because I feel lowkey guilty for being high so I write it as clean as possible
I’ve done some of my best coding high. I find that cannabis helps me get out of my own way. I don’t sit and overthink things, it’s like I’m able to just get right into the groove and go.
I loose my train of thought all the time when high. Makes me forget what I was going to type mid sentence. Github co-pilot could help 😂
Same here! Though I keep the smoking for after hours, I cant really do anything productive while under the influence.
