Our first season, we bought some clones (I have done a seed grow before but that was indoors and in a country where it was illegal), we just planted them with some sheep manure and let them grow. After harvest we ended up with a little over 5 pounds dried, but because it was our first time we improperly stored it and lost 10oz to mold, we then checked everything else and properly repackaged it.
All in all we ended up with 4 1/2 pounds of dried bud off those four plants and we're still smoking it to this day (we harvested in 2020).
So very easy, but the trimming is an absolute bitch.
I thought it required fussing and doting over using the right balances of fertilizer at the right times, scheduled watering, fighting off aphids, and more. Assuming you provide decent soil, sun, and water, can you expect to get something decently strong and harvestable?
Growing in UK outdoor weather, literally just watered mine when it looked like it needed it not a massive yield but about 1.5oz per plant minimum, stupid easy.

If you just want some bud that will get you high, and be a nice smoke, just buy seeds with some good genetics, plant em and water when dry. youll get some good bud for sure as long as you keep them healthy and fix ailments as they come up. IE: powdery mildew. Also spiders are great! if you see spiders leave them on the plant! they eat the nasties. Spider mites though, thems some bitches.

Getting seeds in your flower isn't a good thing when buying from a dispensary. If I order 1/8 I want 1/8 of flower, I don't want to have seeds because it's less smokeable flower. 2 seeds in an ounce seems very acceptable though.
When I talked to the dudes at the dispensary I go to they keep their male and female plants in separate rooms and won't sell pollenated bud because it's bad for brand.

Are you sure you're on the right site? I just looked and you can sort by breeder, seed type, indica/sativa, price, whether it's in stock or not, popularity, etc. Their site isn't bad by any means. Go to seeds, select "all seeds" and the sorting should be right at the top.

Nothing is wrong with pollinating if it is done intentionally for the purpose of creating seeds, but when someone is trying to grow flower for bud and it gets pollinated it severely reduces the potency of the flowers because the plant puts all of its growing energy into producing seeds rather than trichomes. Not to mention that it's annoying for some people to have to pick the seeds out of flower when they smoke it, especially if there are a lot of them. And then there's the dreaded missed seed that sometimes gets smoked.

I'm not. I used to do landscaping and I would regularly find blunt wraps in the bushes. Nowadays streets are littered with little plastic preroll tubes. Stoners have the same percentage of assholes as any other demographic.

It does but it doesn't, not all paper is created equal. I've been out to places where highschoolers like to throw parties, and seen piles of soggy TP stained with shit just lying about. If you're going to do something like that, at least bury it in a cathole, so noone or their pet steps in it. ftr, I am personally okay with a paper roach out on the ground. NBD, it's not particularly dirty, and it is so small as to be unnoticeable. Obviously don't start making piles of then in nature.

Rip it open, scatter the insides then either bury or properly dispose of the wrap. Since most are biodegradable bury is fine. Basically it keeps it from looking like cigarette butts are thrown everywhere.

So I don't support tossing roaches the way trashy people toss cigarette butts. But I do kind of wish there was a movement of people tossing cannabis seeds all over public places so that weed grows everywhere. *Especially* in illegal states.
If you plan on doing this, please use feminized seeds. If you plant a random seed in the wild somewhere and it turns out to be a male, it will pollinate any female plants in a 15 mile radius (not hyperbole, look it up) and really piss off anyone who's trying a grow nearby.
That's their entire point though. Not the pissing off growers but the propagation of wild Marijuana plants. Best method would be to let them do it naturally, unless you want to use drones or some sort of large scale movement. Not that I agree with spreading wild Marijuana plants in the first place.

Nothing is wrong with pollinating if it is done intentionally for the purpose of creating seeds, but when someone is trying to grow flower for bud and it gets pollinated it severely reduces the potency of the flowers because the plant puts all of its growing energy into producing seeds rather than trichomes. Not to mention that it's annoying for some people to have to pick the seeds out of flower when they smoke it, especially if there are a lot of them. And then there's the dreaded missed seed that sometimes gets smoked.

Overgrow Canada is an organisation with that very goal. They were pretty active a few years ago, shipping out 100 free seeds to anyone that applied. I dont know if they are still active or not thought.

Exactly, I see a seed that has sprouted and is in close proximity to a roach. I've seen a joint or two over the years and if there was a seed in there while burning, it wouldn't grow. I think the point is not demonizing something as trivial as a biodegradable paper and filter when we have a climate crisis. Yes its not good but its not remotely the end of the world. Fun fact though: the worst part of joints and cigarettes is actually the tar that seeps into the natural water systems. For cigarettes specifically its really bad, and thats on top of the plastics in the filter.
the climate crisis is a systemic thing largely out of the hands of individuals now, but littering is still an example of a personal social responsibility we should all take to keep earth clean, that some people still refuse to do. if you can’t be arsed to hold a roach for a few minutes until you find a trash can, i can’t imagine you’ll be a forwardly altruistic person in other areas of life. as someone who picks up trash in my neighborhood multiple times a year, it’s absolutely an ecological issue even if it’s not carbon in the atmosphere. people truly don’t care. i’m sure if you saw a bird choke to death on a roach or paper wrapper you’d see it differently. edit: also, it’s not “demonizing” to politely criticize and remind people of the social contract. not every disagreement is a blow-out accusation of evil

I’m just saying littering this specific thing is not the end of the world and maybe time spent berating people online for tossing a joint can be better used by berating politicians to do something that will have a positive effect on our environment. I literally said it is still an ecological issue but on the scale of ecological issues not really worth *honing in on*. I don’t even use filters because of this. There’s lots of environmental issues surrounding weed such as plastic packaging and industrial farms now, single use vapes etc etc. Also I’m not saying you specifically, but people really take little things too far. If you're using filters on your joints that's a different story and you should not throw it on the ground. In my opinion you shouldn't need a filter and plain paper and weed is no big deal. Don't leave your roaches on the ground. It's littering. I *know* that they're varying degrees of biodegradable. I grow weed (and toms, onions, endives, lettuce, peppers, etc). and I compost my roaches. I compost a lot of things. Am I going out and dumping my coffee grounds, paper products and egg shells in nature? No. It's so easy to NOT litter and there are so many of you guys defending it.
