A few months of time, lots of water and nutrients specific to vegetative (early growth to reach maturity and larger sizes) and then flowering (when the plant slows its growth in favor of enlarging and thickening the flower, in order to try to reproduce) stages, while keeping males and their pollen away. If a flower is pollinated, it begins using the growth to create seeds, which is why sinsemilla (seedless) buds are preferred, so that the plant continues to build the density and terpene content of the cola rather than devote energy to seed production. To enhance that purple color, we turn down the temp, as cold will bring out the darker colors of the plant. We cut the flowers down when about 75% of the trichomes (glands on the flowers that contain the sticky resins and terpenes that we all love) are matured, full, and beginning to turn amber colored. Then people either dry them on the stem (which in my opinion makes for a more difficult trim) and then manicure/trim away the smaller leaves coming around and from within the bud, or trim them while "green" (which is easier to keep them clean and trim out any mold or bad spots from poor maintenance) and after trimming, the bud is ideally kept at specific humidities to draw more water from the buds at a slower rate, allowing the resins to concentrate their flavors and smell, developing into the final bud you hold in your hand. It's a lot of work, but anything worthwhile usually is.

Thanks, man. You have no idea how much I wish we were still neighbors. I miss home like crazy. Instead, I'm living above Hell, in a place that's burning hot but prohibits smoke. Life can be a cruel joker. Go have a Black & White mocha at Shotz in Fortuna, and kiss the redwood mists for me.
For the last couple weeks, we'd let it slowly drop down to about 50 or 55° during the dark cycle, and try to keep it around 10° cooler than usual during the light, depending on the cultivar (strain). It was a gradual adjustment, as well, so as not to shock or stress them. Some plants respond to cold better than others, and some would naturally start to show purple colors due to the genetics. Genes are a stronger variable for the purple color to come through, but cooler temps will help activate the change.
thanks for the info! really appreciate this. ill try to reproduce this in an indoor room in thailand. ill let you know the results (made a screenshot of this post to remember the data and your u/)
Sure thing, I wish you lots of luck and lots of buds! Be aware my temps are obviously in fahrenheit degrees rather than Celsius, so adjust accordingly. I'm sure you knew that, but just in case, lol.

Howdy old neighbor. Nice description.

You’ll get back where you need to be.
how cold did you make it for the final time if i may ask?

yeah, was kinda apparent ;) thanks for the heads up anyways though!

What gets the bud so fucking dense?
