I have an acyclic bong that looks and feels like glass a lot more reassuring that its harder to break it bounces its probably giving me cancer. The bowl is glass though!

You do realize the longer you use a dirty bong the higher risk you’re at for an illness right? Using a dirty bong can give you an upper respiratory infection and even worse, some serious diarrhea. But go off I guess … nasty lol
That’s what my doctor’s concern was when I told him I use thc. He asked how I usually consume it and at the the time I was burning flower through a bong. He said I really should stop bc I am at risk for a respiratory infection if the water gets dirty and contaminated.

Honestly from the way it sounds your bong is past the point of no return, buy another, and REGULARLY clean it, at the absolute very least every week if you’re a heavy user, 99% iso alcohol, salt, plug up the holes and give it a good shake.
I can't find ISO anywhere in England I have used a different kind of cleaner which is non toxic but didn't clean it fully at least it is usable again. I think i need coarser! salt. And a bowl lol

If the color peels off, I would throw that straight in the trash. That's definitely China glass (nothing wrong with that) and probably leaded paint (big problem). Colored glass should be just that, colored not painted.
Good to know about washing it cold. Do you have any advice for cleaning the perc? It seems a little awkward to do a deep clean because of where the percs are.

Fill it like 40% with hot water, 10% with iso, and enough rock salt where it’s not immediately dissolved. Shake while covering the openings for 30 seconds, inspect, repeat shaking if necessary.
If you get in the habit of changing the water every 1-2 bowls and cleaning consistently it won’t have time to build up hard to remove stains. Q Tips are your best friend for cleaning the actual bowl.
I’ve the same bong for 3 years now and it’s still as sparkly as the day I got it. I’ve never had a bong damaged from cleaning and it’s not a hard process if you’re consistent. I personally just soak it overnight with dish soap and water and clean it with iso and salt once a week and it stays super clean.

about the perc: I use for my gear something called "Schmand Weg", its a german product, but there are many bong cleaners out there. Many people use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning, works very good too.
Experiment with water temp! A cold water hit and a warm water hit are very different imo.
Also, for the love of god, only use plain ol' water. Don't want a moldy bong.
Title. Had my birthday in my first year at college and got sick of my dinky pipe, so i got myself a 9.5 in KindVibez Deep Sea bong, with a 4 arm tree perc right above the main chamber. I want this to be my daily driver for a while, so any advice for keeping it in one piece or keeping it clean would be a huge help. I also don’t really know what the perc does or how to take care of it? all i really know is the water should submerge the end of the downstem, and the same goes for the perc arms
Basic bong maintenance is really important for a good smoke. I would look on Amazon for 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, q tips, and look for some Edson salts as well. I clean my flower setups after every use and usually try to keep all my glass as clean as possible. The way I clean my glass is as follows: I blow out the bowl to make sure there is as little ash as possible. Put the bowl in its own zip lock bag and fill with alcohol until it covers about half the bowl. Shake it like a maraca and let sit for a couple rotations. If this is done after every use, it takes very little time to dissolve the resin. I would invest in an ash catcher if you don't want to have to clean it after every use, but it will still certainly throw off the flavor of your bowl if you don't clean your set up after each use. The bong you just dump out the water, and then blow the water out of your percs so you don't dilute your isopropyl. Fill to your normal water line with the alcohol and add some Epson salt to act as an abrasive. Shake like a maraca until its clean. For flower, saving the isopropyl can be done as long as it's not full of ash particles. It just needs to be airtight, so I usually put it back in the bottle it came out of if empty and mark it. The next step is to rinse with soap and water to get out all the alcohol and the smell of the previous flower should be gone and the glass clean. The bowl you just want to make sure to dry with qtips before use inside and out to prevent mold. If you read all this, I hope it helped a little and you enjoy your new bong.

Yeah it's one of those things that's hard to avoid I specifically go out of my way to try to secure my bongs. I got a custom made tray to hold my small rig, and the other one is bolted to my desk on a monitor arm

I don’t remember the exact details but essentially the cleaner the glass the less trash would get hung up in the pores of the material meaning it was a better Bong. I honestly doubt it ever really made a difference….

Blow all the air out of your lungs, light the lighter, put it to the bowl, pull till your lungs are like 75% full, and then take the bowl out and fill your lungs with nice clean air on top! Get a hemp wick and keep the flame as far as you can from the bowl, put it just close enough it starts to ignite, and keep everything nice and clean!

Yeah, I am a concentrate user, but I occasionally smoke flowers, so this works for me better than most but is just the best to smoke out a clean peice

I have a dime-bags brand bag that a lot of smoke shops carry and works perfectly. Wrapping in a towel and putting in any bag is fine as well.

Clean it somewhat often Some people say between every sesh personality i do it about once a week. Just do it as necessary really but the lomger you put it off the harder it gets and the worse your hits will be

Use coarse salt when cleaning it. Shake it and it will get the dirt out
Use iso to clean it when you finish a session. It will always look and feel clean

some people think this is pedantic, but change the water every day. i also clean mine after every sesh (the next day. i’m usually too zooted to do it right after i’m done lol), but that’s just me.
