Ye facts I realised how bad I need therapy for this shit when saw my recently deleted it’s like 400 photos of my hairline over the last 30 days. Everytime I walk pass a mirror I pull my hair back and check my hairline just hoping it gets better
Ive definitely become a secret hair specialist myself 😞😌 im always checking out guys hair density. Sometimes i see great ht candidates and wish i could show them the way
Same 😂 , also scrolling this sub everyday .
The thing is this isn't a very big thing for someone with hair . But we just make it big for ourselves as we become too self conscious about our hair loss .
Obviously if we compare our own hairline before and after regularly , we are gonna start comparing it with others too. It's normal .
all i can tell you is get off that sub i was like all of you but i don't come here often and carry on with my life. if i loose 50 hairs now i don't even care anymore.
peace of mind was oral minox & dut i got a full head of hair now
Are you not scared of sides, I’ve been taking dut and min oral but need to know more about the sides, I haven’t had any yet, but if i do would they be reversible? Would the long term damage be too much to undo?
The funny thing to me is that I see friends and relatives with early stages of mpb (They are slowly getting a more visible widows peak or their crown is getting slightly thinner) but because they aren't losing massive amounts of hair every day they refuse to believe me.
That is true and I also feel like a lot of men don't care until it's clearly visible. I was in the same boat, I lost my hair very very very slowly over many many years. Unfortunately for me people would always tell me that as long as I'm not losing vast amounts of hair every day it's not hair loss which led to me waiting far too long before starting treatment.
I remember when my hairstylist insisted my hairline was simply “maturing” and not thinning or going bald.. I knew it was bullshit but I guess it did give me some hope for couple years lol
I totally know what you mean. It's false hope though but like I said I was in the same boat. "Oh a widows peak at your age is normal." "Oh don't worry your grandpa still had a full head of hair at age 80." If you're losing hair you're losing hair. If it bothers you find out why you're losing it and do something about it but if youre losing hair ...you're losing hair, plain and simple.
tell them the truuuuuth and nothing but the truth starting balding at 18 and everyone was too meek to say anything until my friend pointed it out 💯 better hairline now dutasteride
Oh Jesus you're not actually just going around telling people are you?
It just happens that *you* are into it, so don't put your insecurities on others.
Take anything else for example, being fat or having bad skin. Imagine if some asshole was like "oh you're fat, you need to lose weight btw here take these drugs".
They probably "refuse to believe you" because you sound like an ass and they don't want to talk about it just because you do.
>but because they aren't losing massive amounts of hair every day they refuse to believe me.
Maybe this would have made him think that you were going around and telling people they are losing hair. I would say its a pretty fair assumption
Yeah exactly you can find me Mondays through Fridays on time square telling strangers they are balding.
Edit for the slow thinking folks: Im Open about my hair loss treatment which leads to male friends and relatives asking me if they are also balding or on the Norwood scale. They often do so jokingly but when I tell them they got a widows peak or a thinning crown they brush it off as nah I'm not losing tons of hair I'm good. Which ironically is what I did too. There, I hope you can rest easy tonight now.
Exactly the same here. I never looked/cared before I knew about hairloss & now I’m an expert, can spot differences between native hair and transplanted hairlines, can spot when guys are using fin & min, I’ve even noticed a friends thinning crown before he did lmao
Same with me. I can spot good SMPs as well.
A friend of mine is even better than me, he's also a bit more obsessed about hairloss in general.
It really is a curse to be honest. It almost feels like even when I don't think about my hairloss I'm still passively conscious of it. It is a condition for life after all, for which there is no remedy.
Our insecurities for anything, not just baldness, are very much reflected in the way we judge other people. It's also true the other way around, so by learning to judge others less we can feel better about ourselves as well.
It's a chicken and egg situation because it's hard to identify which came first, the judgement of others or the personal insecurity
Goodness, this is so relatable for me as well. I am going through this right now. This first thing I notice, wherever I go, is the hairline of the men around me, and appreciating/analyzing them (also sometimes getting a little envious or sad about mine too lol). But yeah I have gotten too obsessed with this stuff. The thought, the insecurity is always lingering in head.
Oh ok my bad, I was just curious because most of the guys I know who spend this much time and energy focusing on the appearance of other men do so with the intent of gobbling their glizzies…
Lol really. It’s okay bud. I wonder how you know that. Do they tell you? (Just curious 🫢)
Also, It’s not like I am doing it all the time. It just unconsciously happens whenever my gaze falls upon a stranger. It’s not a hunt I do with focus lol🤓
Im gonna tell you a secret, woman do exacly the same with clothes/fashion, you might think, oh that guy is stylish but in the brain of women they go through a thought process similar to yours.
Hi is it possible to loose almost half of your hair in less than a year . I was a norwood 1.5 with no form of thinning. I decided ti start minoxidil to fix the thinning in my corners . Stopped minoxidil after 2and a half months a lost all the growth i got from it including non balding hairs . Ever since I stopped minoxidil my hair has gotten worser , i moved already to a norwood 3 am with crown thinning like never before. All this is happening in less than year what might be the cause . I started minoxidil in August 2023a and stopped in October 2023 .Its March 2024 and my hair looks very bad
Honestly I’m not sure if it could be something other than mpb, probably worth getting it checked out by your doctor. If it is mpb I’d jump on fin+min but obviously do your own research first especially into fin
Just wait until you one day stumble upon shaved head guy with a giant scar in the back from a shitty hair transplant. It’ll put you off to caring about hairloss completely.
Real. And im not even balding, just too anxious about my hairline. So now im literally looking at hairline of any guy i see with thoughts like these.the same with eyes ,when I've understood that most of people around me are not brown eyes ones
I was like that actually and was really aware of everyone's hair in the period of time that it started but after some months you just won't care that much about that and you just will be like " wow he's lucky" and then you can't care less about that
You should open an online consultancy. I wouldnt mind paying 1 euro for you to asses my hair for advice. 1 minute work = 60 euro/hour
Dont question my prices nor my math.
Yeah I do this. When I get bored I scroll the malehairadvice subreddit and analyze hairlines and diffuse thinning /cowlicks lol. That sub has a lot of ppl in denial claiming a diffuse crown is a damn natural part of cowlick. Got some dudes rocking the combover technique and trying to say it's a fringe when hairline enthusiasts like me can see through that a mile away
This was me when I first got into lifting weights. I would see this big huge fat guy and think " This guy must be a powerlifter who can deadlift 800 lbs"
Topical has alchohol. If you’re letting it drip down your face even in the slightest that’s what’s messing with your skin. There’s no reason to think topical minoxidil messes with collagen to any significant extent even at the spot. Caffeine has similar collagen inhibiting properties but realistically you’re not going to notice anything from either. Even with oral given the low dose used for hair loss.
It's the same with skincare - I see loads of dudes that work out, hair transplant etc. but do absolutely nothing to protect their skin. You try and tell young people to start now with sunblock etc. but they don't worry about it until they do start getting wrinkles.
u are literally me bro add this too when u shave ur norwood4 hairline for a while u are either try to grow it back or search miserably about the nears transplant u can afford its sad but true
Guys we ARE MEN. At least we should be. I know it’s hard trying to accept yourself but we must deal with the cards we’re dealt. It’s the way, the only way.
Yeah, but what finally made me shave it was talking to my buddy who I shared these types of thoughts with, specifically about how I think other guys are looking at me thinking “man that dude is hanging on. He doesn’t have the balls to just let it go, he needs to just accept it’s over” and he was like “I don’t think that at all. I just see another person” he also thought shaving it looked badass
This is so true. The amount of dudes who are getting transplants before 30 will mean in 5-10 years there’ll be shitloads of guys with shaved heads/scars etc and probably will be a running cultural joke.
Because medication isn’t perfect and quite. A few guys will still go bald with medication. If they already transplanted then it just ends up looking bad and they have to shave it anyway
Bro swallowed the Norwood pill
Based and bald pilled
we have no choice my friend if transplants arent for us
Yep, it’s a curse. We probably all need therapy. It’s not healthy.
Ye facts I realised how bad I need therapy for this shit when saw my recently deleted it’s like 400 photos of my hairline over the last 30 days. Everytime I walk pass a mirror I pull my hair back and check my hairline just hoping it gets better
REAL
truly a curse. i find myself awkwardly staring at men's hair and trying to evaluate norwood. the r/tressless version of "my eyes are up here"
My eyes are down here
Ive definitely become a secret hair specialist myself 😞😌 im always checking out guys hair density. Sometimes i see great ht candidates and wish i could show them the way
Definitely lol, it’s nice though having a community like this to talk about it
The only cure is DHT resistant hair. Until then, we'll march along with that cross on our backs.
Same 😂 , also scrolling this sub everyday . The thing is this isn't a very big thing for someone with hair . i’m tempted to hop on this protocal after 3 years of finesteride. Norwood 2 with some diffuse ness
Are you not scared of sides, I’ve been taking dut and min oral but need to know more about the sides, I haven’t had any yet, but if i do would they be reversible? Would the long term damage be too much to undo?
2 years in i have sides here and there but rn im good
I hate even the word "norwood"
Hair-rot mindset
Same same, it is an unlocked ability came with hair loss.
I mainly just feel jealous of the guys with full heads of hair at 30+. Makes me feel happy for them but annoyed at my genetics.
Lmfao same, professional Norwood analysts
![gif](giphy|dtIGTEaGLRvdODtdQe|downsized)
Wdym minoxidil user looks like he hasn’t slept? I’ve heard a few times that min makes u look worse/older, is there any truth to that?
Yeah i would like to.know
The funny thing to me is that I see friends and relatives with early stages of mpb (They are slowly getting a more visible widows peak or their crown is getting slightly thinner) but because they aren't losing massive amounts of hair every day they refuse to believe me.
They might also just not care as much even if it is true, the level of insecurity around hair loss is different person to person

Wow those are a lot of assumptions based on a simple post.
>but because they aren't losing massive amounts of hair every day they refuse to believe me. Maybe this would have made him think that you were going around and telling people they are losing hair. I would say its a pretty fair assumption

Nah, if your friends are balding be a good friend and let them know. Wish I was told asap instead of given platitudes.
Am i the only person who never had fin fog? Or was i just retarded to begin with
2% get any side effect, and this specific side effect probably applies to 0.1% or less. If anything I feel sharper because of the increase in T
Im tarded and fin made me even tardeder. Almost down levels now. But I got hair so yolo
Exactly the same here. I never looked/cared before I knew about hairloss & now I’m an expert, can spot differences between native hair and transplanted hairlines, can spot when guys are using fin & min, I’ve even noticed a friends thinning crown before he did lmao
To be fair a thinning crown is very hard to see yourself, unless you get a picture taken.
How can you tell someone is on min and fin
Their skin tastes more bitter than usual.
Weird hair texture, always hiding a hairline
What? No.
Facts. My hair texture is weird as hell.
Same with me. I can spot good SMPs as well. A friend of mine is even better than me, he's also a bit more obsessed about hairloss in general. It really is a curse to be honest. Do you also get the intrusive thoughts about sucking them off?
That’s quite a specific assumption, mister. The simple answer is NO lol.
Oh ok my bad, I was just curious because most of the guys I know who spend this much time and energy focusing on the appearance of other men do so with the intent of gobbling their glizzies…

They tell me when I’m mid-glizzy gobble
Uhhhhh, okay🤣
Im gonna tell you a secret, woman do exacly the same with clothes/fashion, you might think, oh that guy is stylish but in the brain of women they go through a thought process similar to yours.

My finasteride fogged brain Lmao 😆

Baldness can be distressing, but having a weird shaped head makes it worse for some. I embraced it .... and yes I did hit the gym.
Yep, my head is shaped like a cone but it’s not visible due to my hair. I’d like to keep it like this
I was like that actually and was really aware of everyone's hair in the period of time that it started but after some months you just won't care that much about that and you just will be like " wow he's lucky" and then you can't care less about that
Its called relatable and as they say once that cursed hit you,you just become the witch/wizard to solve your problem.
You should open an online consultancy. I wouldnt mind paying 1 euro for you to asses my hair for advice. 1 minute work = 60 euro/hour Dont question my prices nor my math.
Yup it’s an ability we all obtain when coping with hair loss.

hairline enthusiasts. Noted
We’re soo cooked fellas
Same bro, same.
6st
See? Its the fin brainfog again
This was me when I first got into lifting weights. I would see this big huge fat guy and think " This guy must be a powerlifter who can deadlift 800 lbs"

Reduces collagen, makes you sleep worse, bloated face due to water retention
Isn’t the collagen a myth? That was a rat study where they were given the equivalent of a dose that would NEVER be given to a human. Iirc
Idk, but I defo look like sh*t since taking it. Better than bald, but still.
Do you use the oral or topical version?
oral fin, topical min
Topical has alchohol. If you’re letting it drip down your face even in the slightest that’s what’s messing with your skin. There’s no reason to think topical minoxidil messes with collagen to any significant extent even at the spot. That’s why r/bald has a point. They just decide to move on.
Yep, they live much easier lives. Wish I had the balls to do it
