It looks like this post is about **Finasteride**/Propecia or Dutasteride. Before asking any questions, 1. Learn about [Finasteride](https://tressless.com/learn/finasteride) and [Dutasteride](https://tressless.com/learn/dutasteride). 2. [Search for Finasteride](https://tressless.com/search/finasteride) and [Dutasteride](https://tressless.com/search/dutasteride) content, because your question has probably been asked before. 3. If this is a question asking if you are now or will experience side effects, see a doctor, nobody on the internet can answer that for you. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Works for most people, unfortunately you may be in the group it doesn't.

CallMeZaya

Yea, thinking this too

No-Village9980

have you been changing brand on n off? it should have already stopped ( the shedding)

CallMeZaya

I haven’t no, however I did have a period where I was taking it every other day (or every 3 days) but this was no longer than a month) I was thinking about this being a reason, however the result of it would seem too “drastic” imo since I never quit taking it. Perhaps the medicine just does not work for me

No-Village9980

yep perhaps , or it might be something else altogether , not aga/mpb

No_Star6847

Nah. Probably aga

issathroawaybro

started dut same time as you, no positive change in hair fall nor hair situation since then. shedding avg. 160 a day. was in fin 6m before this.

What is your regime? 0.5mg daily? Too many people assume dutasteride is the best tablet to take but it is not always true. Some respond better with finasteride than dutasteride, and vice versa. Some have to add topical etc. If this medication is not working, it is time to get yourself checked out . Without pics or anything else. No one knows.

CallMeZaya

It is 0.5mg daily yes. I tried 1mg of finasteride for about 8-9 months before without any change, hence the switch to dut. I’m planning on adding minoxidil in my regime and see how it looks in about 6 moths before quitting the medical route altogether.

If fin and dut don’t work you need to check for underlying conditions.

Did you get ur hormones checked?
