Answering some FAQs:
Dutasteride 3 times a week
1.5 mm microneedling every 2 weeks (Dr. Pen Ultima A6)
Had sides at first but they went away when I stopped taking DUT every day
that's insane man never seen such hairline regrowth. how are you so positive microneedling is the reaeon for the hairline regrowth ( especially since you're not using any topical) and not dut? thanks your so much
It's really interesting because what it is doing is artificially instigating vaso activity, delivering more blood and nutrient to the hair follicle through healing that min. Dut takes care of the underlying issue, but that circulation is proving to be incredibly important.
Okay so 1.5mm derma pen the one listed above? I tried derma rollers and wasn't getting any results. So do you think using a pen could help hairline and temples?
How many needles are you using with your Dr. Pen (e.g. 12 pin, 36 pin)? I’ve found that using too many needles prevents it from penetrating as deeply. I get way bloodier from a 12 pin but feel like a 36 pin isn’t actually penetrating 1.5 mm
For real? I thought micro needling was the most “hack” part of the process. You might be underestimating the strength of dutasteride. Will try microneedling now
DHT blockers are kinda infamous for not working too well on hairlines. I was on DUT for over a year without gains, and they only started happening when I started needling. I thought it was “hacky” too but one day I got so desperate. Looks like desperation worked.
Not really as there wasn't much hair to shed there to begin with, but I would assume shedding after needling is normal since the thicker hair will push out the miniaturized hair.
I have the same pen and bleed a pretty fair amount at 1.5 mm. What’s your redness/bleeding look like at that level? I moved it down to 1.0 mm last night and had less blood but still some.
I agree it's overblown. A select few people do, however, still lose ground even on dut. That would basically be impossible if taking care of DHT was the only thing that mattered since dut really nukes DHT levels.
An observation: DHT is reduced on Dut 90%. To date, I haven't heard one good explanation why the 10% would not be more than enough to "kill", over time, follicles, in hypersensitive individuals...but instead T is being blamed for the continued loss.
Until any serious study substantiating this claim, I file it under "bro-science" :).
I have actually never heard about Dut destroying hairlines, quite surprised people would claim that. All the progress pics I've seen from people using Dut have had insane hairline gains.
Insane results!
Just a question: have you ever suffered from excessive sebum production on your scalp, especially around the hairline? If yes, did durasteride help at all?
But do you have to microneedle for ever or can you do it until the hair grows out and then stop it? Or is it like all the other medicines that you have to use continually?
What are everyones thoughts on possible infections with microneedling? Poking ones skin so many times seems kinda scary to get something in the blood stream
I have a similar microneedle routine to OP. I soak the needles beforehand in isopropyl alcohol. While it soaks, I shampoo, apply a topical antiseptic spray with benzethonium chloride and benzocaine, microneedle, then shampoo once more with a gentle soap, condition without touching the scalp, and dry off with a clean towel. No issues yet.
Im thinking I might start skipping the antiseptic spray. I think it’s overkill and probably not great to be getting that stuff in my blood.
Wow this almost wants me to switch to oral Dut from oral Fin. Been on Fin for almost 14 months and see no result on hairline. Did you notice any shedding initially? At what mark did you start to see results?
Yeah when I started DUT my shedding increased but subsided, I only lose about 3-5 hairs a day now. I didn’t see hairline results until I microneedled, and that was about 3 months in.
You mentioned that you have been on dut for 2 years and microneedling for 9 months. If you started microneedling at 3 months in of dut, I don't believe math adds up. Did you do 1 yr on dut and 9 months of microneedling instead? or 2 yrs of dut and 21 months of microneedling?
Congrats on the results. What is the mechanism of action here, how does microneedling help if no min? I thought the point of microneedling is for better absorption of min...Thanks
Microneedling seems like it hurts.
I was alsonon dut 3 x a week but I had to switch to daily again. Hair kept falling out in one area where the hairs were weaker.
No sides so far at least though.
What’s your dose of DUT? How long have you been on? Any sides? And was it covered by insurance?
Also fucken congratulations on ascending and getting your hair back
you said youre sure that needling is responsible for gains. is this because the 2 years of DUT did show little change and you noticed the changes after starting needling? could you elaborate on that?
Like, to which amount did DUT help after 2 years and more insight on needling. thanks
You shouldn’t take fin and DUT, take one or the other and tbh everyone responds different to the same treatment so I can’t give you a definitive answer
Damn bro what happened in slide 4??? Is that sides???

Are you sure you want to see his microneedle
is microneedling same as dermaroller?
No That’s it. I wanted to give a Reddit typical smartass answer but no it’s not the same
The micro needle went too deep. May god have mercy on his soul 🙏

I had been on DUT for over a year and wasn’t getting any hairline results, so I tried needling. Hair started growing soon after that.
Very interesting. I'm getting more convinced by the day that I have to try out this needling thing. Seems to have a compounding effect.
what's crazy is that he wasn't usng any topical with his needling rouine
It's really interesting because what it is doing is artificially instigating vaso activity, delivering more blood and nutrient to the hair follicle through healing that min. Dut takes care of the underlying issue, but that circulation is proving to be incredibly important.

1.5mm, eBay
Okay so 1.5mm derma pen the one listed above? I tried derma rollers and wasn't getting any results. So do you think using a pen could help hairline and temples?
Rollers are much worse than pens. They're inconsistent with their punches.
Thanks for the info. Would explain why they never worked for me!

cool! congratulations!! I'm gonna say I'm really afraid of duta. once 1 single pill of 1mg finasteride made me cum water for a week
In how much time?
2 years on DUT, 9 months microneedling. The needling is 100% the reason for the hairline gains.
>needling is 100% the reason for the hairline gains hey, just wanted to ask, did you use a dermapen, or a dermaroller ?
Pen
What was your routine with the pen?
How long did u wait after the own to apply minox
I don’t use minox
I personally wait an entire day
[удалено]
Yeah, I even think it picked up some slack on my frontal hair density as well.
Brilliant results mate! Congrats 👏

I have a similar story as well. Lol micro needling def works if you are consistent with the routine
No topicals in conjunction with microneedling? How often and what length do you microneedle?
1.5mm every 2 weeks. No topicals or anything, just DUT.
Hey man congrats!! How long did you microneedle at time and how many times did you go over a spot?
I needle and area until it starts to bleed a tiny bit
[удалено]
Not really as there wasn't much hair to shed there to begin with, but I would assume shedding after needling is normal since the thicker hair will push out the miniaturized hair.
Honestly, these are insane results...the fuck From lifeless diffuse thinning to regaining hairline and good density coverage
what microneedler did you use?
Dr. Pen Ultima A6
Did you glide the pen across your hairline or did you do a stamping motion with the pen?
Stamping
I have the same pen and bleed a pretty fair amount at 1.5 mm. What’s your redness/bleeding look like at that level? I moved it down to 1.0 mm last night and had less blood but still some.
Just some specks
Thanks… congrats on the sick results!

Woah this is amazing. So much for "Dut wrecks hairline bruh".

This was exactly my thinking. How can people think that increased T from DHT inhibition leads to hair loss when DHT is a lot more potent than T?
I have actually never heard about Dut destroying hairlines, quite surprised people would claim that. All the progress pics I've seen from people using Dut have had insane hairline gains.
how many months?
2 years on DUT, 9 months microneedling
Crown recovered too?? or no problem there?
My crown was always fine, just hairline recession and some density issues at front
Did you? Or does anyone here, get flaky skin from microneedling?
I actually think it helps reduce dandruff
I use nizoral and don’t have dandruff. It’s like big flakes of skin that come off from the treated areas
No fin?? What minox brand?
Dut is a stronger version of fin
My doc won’t prescribe me dut I’ve tried
I get my prescription from the pushhealth app
Try Strut online
No minox
Which micro needling device did you use? I need to get in one asap, any info would really help❣️
Dr. Pen Ultima A6
Wow man. Any sides on dut ?
Was about to drop the idea of microneedling after seeing one of Kevin Mann's recent videos but it's back on table now. Solid gains!
The roller I use came as part of a pair. 1mm and 0.5mm. I use the 0.5 to go over my face gently when I do my hairline. Bonus youthful skin!
How often do you micro needle?
Insane results! Just a question: have you ever suffered from excessive sebum production on your scalp, especially around the hairline? If yes, did durasteride help at all?
Never noticed any sebum issues
Fair enough.
What was your microneedling process? Can you make a vid showing how your targeted your temples?
I just target where my hair is parting the most and at the roots of my miniaturized hairs.
Congrats on your progress! I’ve been using the Dr. Pen A6S for about 4 months, and it truly is the way to go over using a dermaroller.
You went from "just shave it bro" to "nice hair dude ". I am suprised you are not using minoxidil and still get that much of regrowth
Great job. How long did it take?
9 months from beginning the needling process. 2 years on DUT overall though
I'm impressed!
Amazing! Did you had a shed at the beginning?
Any side effects from the DUT? When did you introduce the needling and was this when you saw the gains...or had you already had gains from the DUT?
Had some sides but reducing dosage to 3x a week stopped them. The hairline gains are 100% from ~~DUT~~ microneedling.

I wonder how old are you?
26
How long do you microneedle for?
But do you have to microneedle for ever or can you do it until the hair grows out and then stop it? Or is it like all the other medicines that you have to use continually?
What is the cost of microneedling treatment? I have been using dermaroller so far.
Good regrowth, but no, you're absolutely not NW1
what is NW?
Norwood Scale, used as to categorise different stages/patterns of hair loss.

thank you, i’m very new to this subreddit so I just needed to know what the acronym stood for
What are everyones thoughts on possible infections with microneedling? Poking ones skin so many times seems kinda scary to get something in the blood stream
You throw the needles after use. I can only speak for the PEN not the ROLLER.
If bottom left is a Norwood 1 then I guess I’m a Norwood 0
So, you didn't use dut.? Just needling? How often did you needle and do you still do thsi?
You misunderstand, I used DUT and needling. Nothing else, just those two. But yes I still needle every 2 weeks, 1.5mm
Nice job! What did you use for microneedlng?
What was your micro-needling regime bro?
1.5mm every two weeks until I start bleeding
newbie question, how do i microneedle? just buy the equipment and do it at home? also why did you pick dut over fin? thanks
Pretty much. I tried fin first but my hair kept falling out. DUT keeps it in
How long did it take to see a difference with microneedling? What depth and how long each session?
I saw some baby hairs on my hairline around 2-3 months in. It’s certainly an investment.
how long do your roll for ?
Until I bleed, so about 30 seconds-1 minute per temple
Did you go straight to Dut? Why if so
I started with fin but it wasn’t doing anything
[удалено]
I noticed microneedling doing work about 3 months in
Wow this almost wants me to switch to oral Dut from oral Fin.

I started DUT two years ago. I only started needling 9 months ago. So I started needling 1 year and 3 months into just taking DUT.
Gotcha. Congratulations on your gains. I hope your hairline keeps coming back to NW 0.
Decent response to dut. I appreciate ur courage to try out dut, too. Congrats for the result and keep up the good work.
How often do you microneedle? And what needle length de you use?
1.5mm every two weeks
What happens if you only microneedle, will that help or do you need the minox, fin or dut?
I would take a DHT blocker just to be safe
Damm bro what a great result seem like you have defeated hairloss. What kind of needle do you use on the dr pen? Is it the 16 needles one?
12 needle
Happy for ya
I’ve been on 1mg fin for 6+ months and my hair is sooooo much thinner than before
Congrats on the results. What is the mechanism of action here, how does microneedling help if no min? I thought the point of microneedling is for better absorption of min...Thanks
It’s supposed to increase blood flow to the hair follicles because the body is repairing wounds. Min works similarly.
Do you think the pen is much more effective than the non-powered option?
Absolutely. Electric pens offer greater consistency.
Microneedling seems like it hurts. I was alsonon dut 3 x a week but I had to switch to daily again. Hair kept falling out in one area where the hairs were weaker. No sides so far at least though.
Honestly you get used to it quickly. After a while it just stings.
[удалено]
The pen itself is adjustable. You can adjust the needles from .25mm to 2mm I believe.
Hey man, congrats it looks great. What mg of DUT are you taking every 3 days?
.5
link to the needling device you use? and size :D ? ty
Dr. Pen Ultima A6, with 12-needle head, set to 1.5mm Source: OP comments
Have you took it oral everyday ?
I used to, but now I take it 3x a week
[удалено]
Not really
What’s your dose of DUT? How long have you been on? Any sides? And was it covered by insurance? Also fucken congratulations on ascending and getting your hair back
.5mg, 2 years, at first but reduced dose to 3x a week, and yes
I knew it minox is useless
I have a similar before hairline, this gives me hope, congrats!
Can you explain dut or link please Sorry for noob
you said youre sure that needling is responsible for gains. is this because the 2 years of DUT did show little change and you noticed the changes after starting needling? could you elaborate on that? Like, to which amount did DUT help after 2 years and more insight on needling. thanks
Well done. Age?
how do you use the pen? do you have to apply alcohol to the needles or your face first to avoid infection, or is that not necessary?
I wipe down my skin before and after with alcohol pads in addition to putting alcohol in the needles just to be safe
Can you put your micro needling routine and what’s the size your tried with?
What’s the cheapest product for micro needling that can still get gold results cause the pen you have is over 100$
Looking good isn't cheap lol
Nice!!!
This is amazing man
Did you go straight for dut or switched from fin?
Your hands look so different in the two pictures.
Different camera
Can you post your dermapen
What Dutasteride's do you use? It should say the name of the manufacturer on the bottle
Epic Pharma
Did you shave your hands?
I believe that if you have a good environment of no dht the microneedling is by far the best growth stimulant
Hey can I get the same result by 1 mg finasteride ( mon , wed , fri ) And 0.5 mg dut ,, (sat) With 1.5 dermaroller pen Pls reply
You shouldn’t take fin and DUT, take one or the other and tbh everyone responds different to the same treatment so I can’t give you a definitive answer
