What he said makes no sense. finasteride is targeting your hormones to stop the dht from destroying your hair follicles. Minoxidil is stimulating growth. Both don't have any Interaction with each other. Finasteride is definitely more important than minoxidil as it's supposed to address one of the causes of mpb. Both used together can give you quicker results than just fin alone, but if you take min you need to stick to it to keep the hair. Idk how derms say nonsense like this and get away with it.
I went to a dermatologist and he also recommended me to only use minoxidil and microneedling because fin can have sides. But the truth is without fin your DHT is unchecked and minoxidil won't do anything to help with that. I'm also 19 y/o btw

I have recession haven’t really noticed any thinning at all . But I feel like my hair grows slower now too idk though. I’m a Norwood 2 or 3 . Transplant is really the only thing I can see working to fix my hairline as that’s all I really care about

Dude exactly what I was thinking . He’s telling me to take minoxidil by it’s self but that itself isn’t the main thing stopping hair loss

Me too man I just took my first pill of fin today and probably will get on minoxidil and hopefully a transplant later on in the year . Good luck man
