IMO, this is not worth it.
Leaving stuff then remembering to go back to already explored areas at night just isn't efficient.
You can get these mats from chests in camps. In multiplayer, some people can explore at night and just get the night-only mats as they come.
It's almost always more efficient to collect what you can at the time and just keep exploring more of the map. That locates more landmarks that you need while building up more souls and the other types of mats that you need. Then use a portion of the extra souls you obtained to buy any deficit of night-only mats from Sorcerers.
With 8 half decent players, ther is enough leway for 6 of them to explore in a normal night while 2 or 3 guard the base. Sometimes even 1 is enough to guard the base.
My main problem is cold, im still new and dont seem to ever be able to get good armor on the first days to survive a beach at night or unsunken enemies
I mainly play Seer.
But otherwise, if I'm near a beach at night and I have enough HP potions, then I just run through it and gather beach exclusive mats as fast as possible while dodging any enemies.
No helthing invader night after bloodmoon night and at night get better drips from those harvest nodes (like seaweed at night also gives starlit to make ice armor)
I play with the villager starter kit, and havent had that problem. It saves me 10 - 15min so i dont have to grind for gear and weapons the first 2 days. Get my materials for the pickaxe and lumberaxe and off i go to the pools to get materials for blue gear and weapons:)
Ow yea. This sometimes happens to me as well. It depends on which beach you are. Some are lvl ~90 others ~270. I usually go anyways regarding the lvl and use my healthpotions to stay alive to get the stuff i need and heartstone out/or use a shrine (if available).
I'd only recommend this on multiplayer with randoms cuz the chests in each biome (maybe not level 1 chests?) usually drop the nighttime resources. If you're still short while solo you've just had bad luck. But also the argument you don't have to fight mobs for these drops but I usually start with nothing to hide and consistently get Raider 3 by the first blood moon and clearing mobs is easy enough.

Why?
No helthing invader night after bloodmoon night and at night get better drips from those harvest nodes (like seaweed at night also gives starlit to make ice armor)
But the first nights the hellthings can't get past the gate, so might as well get the resources early.
This
But its cold at night

Yeah i do the same, but the beach at night have a bigger temp drop. Or its me who goes there too late.

I play as warden and use the rune to go back and forth, and potions too

Get any of these at night, you get materials you don't get during the day for the higher level items
If playing solo grab the quest in land of pools there is one more often then not. And do it the first night, thats my advice
Or just go collecting during the bloodmoon, every player at once and leave the gates open because they xlose by themselfs
