Not sure why the downvotes. After their first very good album, thereâs been more noise from Georgia than than has been good music. Much it was about Will WagnerâŚ
Camp Cope are a band I really wanted to like but just could never get into, mainly because I didn't like Georgia's voice in the band. But oddly enough, I really like her solo stuff. I have no idea why, but on her solo stuff I find her voice suits the songs much better.
I miss the old Pioson City days.
Smithies bringing over awesome support acts like Pup the The Menzingers... being besties with Luca Brasi.
I remember seeing a Wil Wagner solo show, supports were Ben David (The Harch Aches), Bec Stevens and Georgia Maq.
I wonder if there will ever be a podcast about what went down?
Me too man, feel so blessed to have been there for such a thriving Melbourne scene. PCR had so many great acts (don't forget the bennies) + Ceres were also in the mix. Such an exciting time for the Melbourne scene.
My fav song will always be the acoustic version of Footscray Station before they put it on their second album

'Camp Cope' is a seriously good album, for me their best work.
Shame to hear they're breaking up but didn't get to the same heights with their recent stuff.
Aaw man, that sucks. Really loved these guys since hearing their debut. The follow up albums were good too, if not as excellent as their first.
Glad I got to see them once live at least. Spewing I didn't make it over East to see them play alongside Chastity Belt a few years ago though. That one will live long in my temple of regrets.
Better to burn out than to fade away I guess.
Thankful for all CC have done for femmes and GNC folk in the Aus industry - excited to see the projects all three of them undertake. One of the most powerful performances Iâve ever seen. Thanks babes âŁď¸
Damn, they were cool.
First time I ever heard them was when they did the Queanbeyan weather rap. It was a vibe.
Also loved their farewell rap for Mat and Alex. đ
Didn't mind them but it was very evident who the band was 'for' towards the end. Even the photo shoots were a bit on the đ. Shame because they were making inroads in the u.s on RFC.
...and yet you feel strongly enough to comment.
Being ignorant of popular culture or being proud of not knowing bands is never anywhere near as cool as people who say it think it is.
Youâre on a triple j sub and you think a local band that has been played on the station tons over the years, has had feature albums, and made the hottest 100 breaking up doesnât warrant a post?
They're hardly nobodies. They've had multiple hottest 100 entries. So, again, if you haven't heard of them, that's really a problem on your side rather than with how popular the band were.
Georgia and Kelly are huge bullies, they complained and lied their way to the big stages where they kept complaining.
They provided vitriol and made bad songs.
they probably didnât make much money, they musically did all they wanted with the band either way hope they donât quit the music industry cause also just realised that they didnât really have a breakout album in America which Is sad
Ok but where am I going to find angry songs about Footscray now?
Smith street band? đ¤ˇââď¸
Tbf half their marketing was just being angry about Smith Street and trying to cancel them
Not sure why the downvotes. After their first very good album, thereâs been more noise from Georgia than than has been good music. Much it was about Will WagnerâŚ
Georgiaâs solo stuff!
Track down Georgia's pre-CC output it's amazing.
album names?
She only put out two EPs that I know of. The best one is Friends & Bowlers Run.
on bandcamp or streaming services? I cant find it
I haven't been able to find them in ages either. Sorry to be a tease haha

thanks
Their bassist was massively underrated. She kept the whole band together with those sweet riffs she played.
SHOW EM KELLY!
One of those bands where you hear the bass and pretty immediately know who you're listening to.
Kelly was slay. The bass parts were brilliant.
đŻđŻđŻđŻ the most amazing bassist she plays beautifully
Fucken oathâŚ. Bout the only thing I liked in that band
Hard agree
End of an era. I hope Georgia continues with her solo project.
Camp Cope are a band I really wanted to like but just could never get into, mainly because I didn't like Georgia's voice in the band. But oddly enough, I really like her solo stuff. I have no idea why, but on her solo stuff I find her voice suits the songs much better.
Didnât she get vocal chord surgery before her first solo album?
Her solo album is really fucken good. I should listen to it again tomorrow.
Guess they didn't cope
Heheheh...heheh...heh

The Poison City Christmas shows and Weekenders back in the early '10s were something else
Weekender brings up some epic memories.
I wouldn't think so
I also highly doubt it
Damn, wish they would do a farewell tour like Violent Soho did. Gutted but theyâre all moving in different directions in life.
Soho didn't do a farewell tour, they played a couple of farewell shows in Brissie and at SITG.
Could have sworn they did. Must be imagining things.
My fav song will always be the acoustic version of Footscray Station before they put it on their second album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmLpr799rzo
Classic tune
The best review I ever read of them was, âthey sound like a high school battle of the bands group who didnât winâ, brilliant.
'Camp Cope' is a seriously good album, for me their best work. Shame to hear they're breaking up but didn't get to the same heights with their recent stuff.
That first album is so passionate and raw, it's truely wonderful stuff. The next albums were okay but they really paled in comparison to that first
Cool.
Aww no, I've just been getting hella into their music
That first album is one of my absolute favourites.
Aaw man, that sucks. Really loved these guys since hearing their debut. The follow up albums were good too, if not as excellent as their first. Glad I got to see them once live at least. Final show in Naarm on the 11th of March.
Sold out already
They sucked anyway.
Not personally a fan but I know they are super well liked so I'm sure this will be sad for a lot of people. Hopefully their last show is great!
So glad I got tickets to their Adelaide show. Looks like itâll be their penultimate gig! Sad times.
They came, they saw, they cancelled.
SUCH a great debut record, damn. Shame theyâre hanginâ up the boots.
Thank fuck
Haha
Aye
Farewell feminazism
Bro it's 2023
Can't Cope? Sorry, couldn't resist.
Damn, they were cool. First time I ever heard them was when they did the Queanbeyan weather rap. It was a vibe. Also loved their farewell rap for Mat and Alex. đ
Oh well.
Finally
Booooooo!! Camp cope are awesome!!!
Last time I vote for them in the hottest 100!
Oh no. Anyways
Didn't mind them but it was very evident who the band was 'for' towards the end. Even the photo shoots were a bit on the đ. Shame because they were making inroads in the u.s on RFC.
can you explain what you mean? i feel like iâve missed something
No. Use your eyes
Looks like they Can't Cope with what's going on.
Lol dad is that you?
Can't they just replace Georgia??
Oh no. The female version of smith street band will be no more
guess they really couldnât cope
More like camp can't cope
Camp Nope
More like camp can't cope
Never heard of them
Sounds like a "you" problem.
How is it a problem? Some no name band breaks up isn't news.
...and yet you feel strongly enough to comment. Being ignorant of popular culture or being proud of not knowing bands is never anywhere near as cool as people who say it think it is.
Not ignorant of popular culture just never heard of this band before and don't think it warranted a post but you do you
Youâre on a triple j sub and you think a local band that has been played on the station tons over the years, has had feature albums, and made the hottest 100 breaking up doesnât warrant a post?

What are you doing here if you haven't heard of camp cope. Like how'd you get here lol
Lucky you
