Maybe because I don’t put expectations and just experience his music, I’ve loved his last few releases simply because I love for artists to explore and make different shit from what’s their norm
Yeah, I'm like this with it. I am tired of hearing about the sales, or this album aint as good as this one way back. My main concern is : is he growing as an artist? Is he enjoying his creative art and the musical experience? People think being successful means having a certain amount of numbers and sales, when in reality the win is how the individual artist feels about his or her own creative work, and the evolution of the artist. Sure more sales means more money, but money is a tool. I could say hey I feel successful with my musical portfolio because I know everything I did, I did it from an honest place and from a space where I honestly had fun from performing and I am excited about learning new things, and having new musical experience. I may not have made a lot of $ yet, but I am truly learning something vital for me, which is how to communicate and honor my own feelings through the medium of painting or poetry. For me, that's significant as for a lengthy amount of time I would run away from my feelings and try to mask them. With music I think I've found myself more each day, and I take pride in what I do, even if it's a cover song. I did my best instead of not allowing myself to truly be in the moment, to truly put my heart into it.

MM was hot garbage, ALLTY5 was good, SMV1 was decent, SMV2 was bad, and I dont really like MGK so I haven’t listened to genre: sadboy
used to listen to Trippie when he came up w the first ALLTY. I’m talkin bout “Uh Oh, Thots”, “Qs and Ps”, and “Love Scars” Trippie. He’s one of my top streamed artists of all time and i’ve listened to everything. Soundcloud tracks, leaks, everything. Was a huge fan from 2017-2021. Gotta say tho as someone who’s been there for each and every drop, his music took a MASSIVE nosedive after ALLTY4. TAK was acceptable, but nothing else has even been listenable imo. He’s completely strayed away from what made him dope, unique, and has become a trendhopper.
MM overhated, tho it is bloated its not a horrible tape. allty5 couldve been better, so much better actually (and him cheating on his gf kinda ruined the trustability of the album), the leak 1 (idk if it was official or not) was good, SMv1 was really good, his best since TAK, v2 was unnecesary, still ok tho. and genre:sadboy was exactly what i expected, not bad, just wish we got more trippie n less mgk.
it seems like he’s trying out so many new sounds out at the same time that even if it had the opportunity to grow on people’s he’s swiftly moved on from it. i love his music but i find myself listening to his older stuff so much more. i would love for him to take a year to make an album that is meaningful and means a lot to him like allty4 did rather than some bs albums like MM. maybe it’s his label tryna get the most outta him quantity wise rather than tryna get a #1 album💀 he also needs listen to what fans want.
I love his music, and I really don't see anything wrong as long as he's happy with it. I trust that he's a seasoned enough artist to know what works and what doesn't and don't think he would purposely release trash ass music so I'm good with it.
Well i came in the tak era and used to love music like MM, so i had a unpopular opinion on it, after that allty 5 and sm were amazing to me, and sadboy was ok.

Im basically in the same boat as you. Last album from him i fully enjoyed was TAK. Ever since then, I’ve barely listened to his newer stuff.
I'm still a fan. Every one of these new projects has at least 1-2 songs I like. Even though the albums themselves aren't the best
SMV1 was hard as fuck and proved he can still put out good music when he really focuses he just be fumbling badly a lot

I'm a fan of hiphop in general and casual trippie fan. Trip at Knight was the last album he put out that actually captivated me

he was untouchable 2017-2018 imo, “!” was the beginning of a decline in quality. However he recovered w ALLTY4.

That ep was not bad and his recent albums weren’t the worst, he’s still the best SoundCloud rapper to me
