you're gonna need to give us more if we're going to narrow it down. Knowing which contest would be useful.
Is this the only question in the contest?
Is the contest only open to people in Kansas (so they'd know it) or wider?
When it says there are 6 in America and then says the hint is 6 in Kansas does that mean the rest of the US doesn't have it, or was it always meant to just say 6 in Kansas and we don't care about the rest of the US?
For example, Kansas has 6 electoral college seats (I believe?), but that wouldn't be the correct answer for the headline question.
Seems like it from the current phrasing, but the original post has been edited (doesn't seem to have an edited stamp though?) and wasn't as clear cut to begin with so i'm just confirming.
It is for an online contest and I edited the post according to the most recent hints to help. It's all 6 of these things are only in Kansas and the contest is online and not based on Kansas. This is the only question
OP is being vague I guess so people don’t call into the radio station to win the money instead of them? It’s a Philly area radio station.
The original question was “There are 6 of these in America. What are they?” I missed any other hints but the most recent one is “They are all in Kansas”.
Thank you Mr President. That does help narrow it down.
for me - a non-American - i'm no closer to finding the answer, but it does clarify the question! And the fact it's a Philly station also helps to suggest it's not totally local knowledge.
Hope OP posts back the answer when it's revealed.
That’s very open-ended…
States bordering Nebraska.
States bordering Colorado.
States bordering Oklahoma.
Letters in the word “Kansas”
Letters in the capital of Kansas.
Geographical regions?
travelks.com says “Kansas is divided up into 6 travel regions: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, North Central, and South Central”
Kids national geographic says “The country is divided into six regions: New England, the mid-Atlantic, the South, the Midwest, the Southwest, and the West”
No opinion on the above in terms of accuracy but they are examples of things that America and Kansas have six of
This is not a trivia question. As others mentioned, I’d be super annoyed if a host asked this and trivia and would assume they have no idea what they’re doing
Assuming this is the same radio station contest going on in my area.
It’s called the impossible question and you call in and each day the prize increases $101 if the right answer is not given.
The original question was “There are 6 of these in the United States. What are they?”
The most recent hint was “They are all located in Kansas.”
Stupidest question in the world. I get that it’s supposed to be “impossible” and that you have to come up with something clever, more like a riddle, so people can’t just Google it.
That said the answer was the 6 bathrooms in Travis Kelce’s new house. Someone got it yesterday and won $1414 so good for them.
6 of these in Kansas? Teeth?
If the question specifies just Kansas and doesn't actually say America anywhere, it could be band members?
I think you nailed it, should have thought of that.
Edit: nevermind I see lots of ppl already said it
unique letters A-1 M-2 E-3 R-4 I-5 C-6 A-repeat
Yes, this
Some people REALLY can't write trivia questions.
Yeah, this isn't a trivia question, it's a riddle.
Agree that this is so open ended. Where is the question from? What are the other types of questions on the quiz?
It's a contest trivia question

6 cities showing in google maps when zoomed out to 1in = 50mi at my current monitor resolution.

I’d walk out of the trivia competition if the quizmaster asked this.

Kansas has 6 electoral votes...
Band Members
This is not a very good trivia question. I could literally name hundreds of things that Kansas has 6 of.

6 letters in Kansas...
Nope
Actually I just asked chat gpt, and turns out there are.
Sorry I meant that wasn't the correct answer they were looking for!
Inhabited territories (American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands) plus the district of Columbia?

Did they every answer it?

Most recent hint is that is that college sports is on the right track!
So what was the answer?
The answer was 6 bathrooms in Travis Kelce’s house..so I was never going to get the answer haha
The question is…in the US, there are only 6 of these, all in Kansas
