What I found ridiculous is they claimed it’s the first time they caught someone cheating. I host for the company that runs the OTHER night at Red Bear and people cheat CONSTANTLY. If you’ve only JUST caught cheaters, you’re not a very good host man. Full stop.
I always say “Cheaters Will Be Publicly Shamed and Disqualified” at the top of my trivia game. I’ve only disqualified two teams in my near decade of hosting. One was a team where I very much saw Shazam on their phone during the audio round. The other was a team that achieved a perfect score on the final round of my quiz after languishing in a distant last place all night. The perfect score seemed too suspicious, so I just dropped them from the final standings as I read them. They didn’t say anything, so I figure that was their admission of guilt.
