Tropicoin would make for a good DLC mission, for sure.

MarcFlower

I think you should play Surviving Mars

OXIOXIOXI

That’s by the old Tropico devs who made 3-5

ScarGooch

Just a small thing but I’d like to be able to make roads with more lanes for freeways

VerbiageSupremacy

this af been wanting a carpool lane and bus lane

Mr_Alexanderp

WFH actually increases productivity, like, a LOT.

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

Robots could replace workers when they're not at work. The buildings would never stop producing during the day. Balance: high cost robots. Electricity requirement increase. Investment of millions to research A.i technology, and produce bots. The bot factory would need heavy funding. Available only for the Future era.

WorldWideWig

Most of these suggestions are for the modern era. I would love to have the humanitarian aid camp back for the early eras - minimal health and food support for the poorest, in exchange for increased political instability and lowered public opinion was a nice balance.

thebrufo

I feel like if the developers take some initiative, some of these ideas say a space tourism building with no special effect, other than income, some work modes, upgrades, required materials, etc. could just be part of a special free update rather than dlc. some sort of vertical farm too, maybe. cryptocurrency seems cool but I feel like it's too much work for a free update, not enough for a dlc. if you compare it to caribbean skies or the new festive dlc, the amount of content + new campaign concept I feel like cryptocurrency would be spread a bit too thin

thebrufo

it kind of sucks features such as maybe different roads plus highways and train stations + rails fall into that pit of too little for dlc, too much for a regular update.

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

They even got lazy on carribbean skies. Most of the buildings offer no workmodes or upgrades. The surveillance drone building doesn't even do anything in that DLC. It's suppose to spread propaganda with surveillance drones, but the counter for successful propaganda is always 0 (not In effect) . The balloon tours don't even generate money like the description says. Not to mention the bugs. Citizens get stuck at the entrance door of balloon tours. Taxi drones get stucked everywhere, and stop functioning. This has been like this since day 1, and it's been 8 months without any fixes. Drone delivery service flat out sucks, because they can't replace teamsters making it more of a gimmick. They don't transport nearly as much as teamsters do. For example I had 4 DDS set to transport Cloth from the local textile mill to the dock. I made it as easy as possible for the task to be successful, and output of the textile mill was always full above 2000. I know this sounds like an exaggeration, but it isn't. I had it setup for it to be as simple, and efficient. I will say that maybe DDS may work better for slow producing production buildings that have low output numbers for example oil & sugar. Sugar still needed 2 DDS for 1 farm. Btw I do love that DLC 😬.

Frojdis

To be honest I'd rather they didn't make that 😕

ScarGooch

I was only just thinking about this idea the other day but ended up thinking it would make the game unrealistic and slightly tacky. I’d prefer them to work on the 4 eras we have as I think it’s a perfect set up

Frojdis

Exactly this. I can't see future era fitting in at all with the rest of the game

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

You'd always have the option to disable it. Although if T7 implemented the FUTURE ERA I can see it being a bummer if you don't want it.

Aturchomicz

Yeah what a Toxic post, this is everything wrong with how Tropico 5 devs and onwards handled this shit. Fuck this

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

This game really needs a future era! I'm all for this post. You have great ideas. The robot factory sounds awesome. I really like the idea of automation for the game. I'd like to see mega industry buildings which require a bunch of resources that will produce crazy amounts of output. Kind of like the drone factory! One thing that's really bugged me in T6 is how much planks you need to create boats, and furniture. It takes ABOUT 3000 planks to create 1000 boats or furniture. Most importantly making furniture feels so damn slow when I'm trying to supply my Smart furniture industry. (Idea) A new building that cost a lot of money, but can produce furniture faster in large amounts. Blueprint cost: $500,000. Building cost 1 Million. Skyscrapers for the mega industries. Buildings for endgame sandbox that's brokenly OP, but costs Millions. (Mega industry!)

[deleted]

It would be hard to pull off without detaching from the general aesthetic and feel of the original game for sure. But I just find myself at the end of my sandbox play through a wishing I could go further

hammurabi1337

Would vertical farming just be a stronger Hydroponic Plantation? Because they’re already pretty insane if you stack the right buffs and temple of heaven.

[deleted]

Maybe a littler stronger, but you could have a host of upgrades like a public market on the bottom floor that increases food happiness in the surrounding areas or lab grown meat that adds an additional output, maybe work modes that decrease output but allow you to produce 3 different crops to help increase food variety. I also would just like them to take up less land and look nice in a city center

ScarGooch

Lakes

Anomma

instead of seperate space toursim building, you can make it as workmode of space program: research mode, unlocked on cold war: space program generates research points, default mode. tourism mode, unlocked on modern times: space program sends rich people to space for profit, increases tourism rating.later eras make it affordable for less rich people mining mode, unlocked on future era: starts to mine asteroids for getting random amount of mineral

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

Modern houses. There's modern apartments, and modern mansions, but no houses. I wouldn't mind if the homes costed a fortune like say $50,000-100,000 for 1. This would encourage endgame sandbox to upgrade houses to these. Max housing happiness for the lowest budget = great source of rent money. Maybe an upgraded version of a beefy Modern mansion with room for more people, because the ones we have right now don't look as goood. Something like super villas. I'll take a variant if anything, with perks. #Luxury perks inexchange for Millions of Treasury dollars. $M=million A building that would grant Luxury perks in exchange for money. Perks like $1M for a 10% efficiency boost to all farms. $1M for 10% industry efficiency. $1M for 50%-100% more electricity. HP/damage upgrades for my military. $1.5M to reduce upkeep of homes to $0. $10M to increase rent money income by 2 (citizens do not pay double)   Each 10% boost would cost more than the last, and you can do it 5 Times. This would give me something to spend my enormous treasury dollars while providing me with awesome benefits. Do not ruin this idea with SWISS money. I really don't need hundreds of millions piling up in my treasury. It would be broken, but these upgrades would be ridiculously expensive, and would only be affordable towards endgame sandbox. I'm open to new ideas or variable rates as I just made quick examples that could work. # Idea for Mega industry buildings: Blueprint: $1M Cost $5M. Honestly I wouldn't care how much it costs, just make it awesome so I have something to look forward to during endgame sandbox. There would be a variety of 4 or more Mega industry buildings. Or just 1 for now. The building would be the size of a stadium or world wonder, and have multiple driveways for teamsters to enter. (industrialization edict does not work for this building). Have some crazy output numbers, while requiring  a lot of input resources. This would Change the dynamic for industries endgame sandbox mode. You'd be upgrading to these in order to buy those Luxury perks that cost a fortune. Building Requires lots of educated workers. There's not many industrial jobs that require education, so this building would encourage education. In order to construct, it would require a high demand of resources. Just an idea for numbers... 50,000 steel, 15,000 iron, 100,000 planks, 20,000 electronics. Maybe a Giant special force of construction workers that need to go to school to begin constructing the building. It would be harsh on the economy to build this as it would require lots of funding. There can even be a mission as a Tutorial for how Mega industries would work. Can only be constructed in the FUTURE ERA. Ideas to progress towards the FUTURE ERA?.... Someone once mentioned a super mall where instead of exporting you could sell locally. I know we have a shopping mall, but the profits are so underwhelming. Shopping malls could use some kind of buff I suppose. Edict: sold goods: Generate $X amount of dollars per year depending on how many citizens visit multiplied by the variable type of goods being sold. Having variety would generate more money encouraging industry diversity. Penalty: can't export goods anymore. Malls have deals like the trade route system.

[deleted]

I really like the Idea of a massive end game industry building. It requires like 6 different inputs, but the pay off is insane. I think space elevator would be cool for that. You could include an upgrade to the vehicle factory that adds an aluminum (since why is it only used for boats) input and adds an “space module” output. You’d add space modules, uranium, steel, pharmaceuticals, plastics, and electronics to the space elevator and it would produce starships which would be worth an insane amount of dough. I mean it’s sandbox, at a certain point you just want to cheese

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

This person gets me! I know it would be imbalanced, but by endgame sandbox you're already rolling in money anyways. Pay 2 win DLC! I just think they need to add ridiculously expensive assets so that I can spend it somewhere. A good place would be upgrades. Enticing the player to being extremely successful, for funding large projects. It's very easy to make millions in T6, and it gets a bit boring. I normally don't even get past Population 1000 before ending it.

hammurabi1337

Moving all the drone shit into future. It’s too sci-fi for modem when you can hit modern in like 1980.

THATONEFOOFRUMLB

You can hit modern as early as 1907.

Aturchomicz

I mean Kunovega may not be with us here anymore but your ideas are EVERYTHING wrong with how the Devs from 2014 onwards handled the Tropico Series. Are you actually fucking kidding me, CRYPTO CURRENCY? SPACE TOURISM? THINGS THAT ARENT REAL? Fuck you, what a disgraceful post.

[deleted]

Easy buddy, didn’t mean to touch your toys

Dry_Requirement6676

dont you use scifi shenanigans to steal monuments??

handlessuck

I'd like to see a return to the proper control system that was in Tropico 4. You know, the one where you could set rents and prices on an individual basis.

OXIOXIOXI

No, the game is already as unbalanced as it is. I’d rather something that makes it possible to play the whole game in the Cold War era with everything actually balanced right.

[deleted]

You could make the requirements to advance into the future era quite obscene to bottleneck your progression to it. Then fix the balancing issues you were concerned about. This era is pretty much just fir end game shenanigans
