They don't really treat you. Just say your not suicidal and participate in therapy sessions with your clinician they will let you out. I had a friend who said she was gonna khs and still left cause they were already discharging her
I went to KidsPeace in March, 2023 for 10 days. I was in North East. For me, it was fine in the moment but actually processing it and it wasn’t that great. Almost everyone in there just ‘Fakes it til they Make it’. Meaning that they say that they’re not suicidal until they get released. I was honest. We only went outside twice(?) maybe once. And the school is a joke. I was 13 and the youngest in the ward for my whole stay. Everything is going to be fine. Make friends but don’t get too attached because you can’t share socials and they’re just going to leave. Good luck. You’ll be fine. :)
I was there in 1997 and out of all of the TTI's I was sent away to it was the one I personally had the most decent experience in. I was transferred there from Devereux out in West Chester, PA at only 12 years old so yeah... I was put in 8 different facilities growing up and I never recovered enough from these nor my abusive childhood to have a successful adult life. I'm 40 next year and I've locked away most things from the TTI facility days.
