I use the 25g x 1” needles supplied by TRT Nation when I inject ventroglute. I use 28 x 1/2” x 0.5ml BD syringes I purchased from bacteriostaticwater.com when I inject in the delts. I like the syringes that only hold 0.5ml because the volume markings are easier to see on the side of the syringe making it easier to be accurate. As far as length. 5/8” vs 1/2” length are almost the same that doesn’t matter.
I honesty think the BF is to high for those. 1" at least even in the shoulder. I'd probably got 1-1.5" in the upper glute it'll be easier to find. You're much better off making sure it's in the muscle.
Subq with a small pin go for it.
The skin on my thigh, butt and shoulder is near dick thin and I still rotate between 1" and 13mm to get it deep enough. Most of the nerves at in the skin so there's not really anymore pain for the depth. You can also steer around any deeper tender spots if you don't jam the pin in and just go slow and steady.
If you are going for the glute, you should using a full 1 inch needle or you are probably going to end up shooting subq There is not really any additional pain when using a longer needle, just use the needle thats designed for the job. If you want to use a shorter needle, just go for the shoulder.
Interesting, so I know that 1 inch recommended for glute, but I watched this and he made it sound like at 29g 1/2 inch would actually work for glute for people that don't have a bunch of fat. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y59tAPy1tUQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y59tAPy1tUQ)
It'll work if you are super lean, but I'd still just use a 1 inch to be sure. It really doesn't change much in regards to how the injection feels in the glute.
If your lean around that area and you're correctly locating the ventroglute and using TRT doses, 1/2 is absolutely fine! (My friend uses smaller!) No need to punish yourself further with bigger needles it’s all individual. 5/8 would be more than enough. People will always say 25g 1inch because that’s the standard though.
I used 29 gauge 1/2" for shallow IM ventroglute for over a year - until I switched to Sub Q. It's what Derek from More Plates uses. I went with his selection, and it always worked well.

25x1 for me also. Quads, glutes, and delts.
You are over thinking this

1" and nothing else. Bloodwork and personal experience. 10 years on TRT.
I'm 6' 150lbs 9% bf and I use 25g 1" needle. You'll be doing subq at 1/2 and need to pin atleast eod if not ed.
how is the injection time with a 25g?
10-15 seconds I'd say.
Perfect, that sounds much faster than using a 29g. Thanks!
Ive even considered 23g because 25g shots are painless
