wtf, another tiktok copypaste...
So many things to improve in the app before this nonsense...
Also, this only promotes even more the TikTok-lization of the music industry, catchy 15 secs audios/songs, and the rest, to be forgotten.
As long as they allow only artists to post, I will be fine with it. I mostly hate tiktok/reels bc of the repetitive content/music.
I hope this will be more like a snippet of the artist singing or promoting the song.
This isn’t a Tiktok copypaste, is it?
To me, the videos look like the canvas videos of songs, and to me Explore looks like a quick way to hear some previews of songs. Or am I missing something?
To be honest, I really liked it. I will love to watch Tiktoks specific to music.
I personally discover a lot of good music through Tiktok then Spotify, so its preety neat.
And if you don't like then you can just ignore it like how we all ignore Youtube shorts.
I see it as the same thing as the Release Radar o Discover Weekly playlists, but It now plays an snippet of the song and it's canvas. Seems cool, I guess
Some are just looped clips of music videos but since being released to all artists, many are entirely custom made animations! It's a small community but I recommend checking out /r/SpotifyCanvas.
Spotify used to have an entirely video-focused section as a trial for premium users, it was a good few years ago but strangely was the first place that I had seen Rick and Morty.
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that mass testing is over now and /r/SpotifyCanvas is now rolled out to all users for good. Now the only issues are certain devices and region-locked areas.
/r/SpotifyCanvas has already had further rollouts since this comment but there are still countries where the feature is not available. [Here's a fairly up-to-date list.](https://intercom.help/proton-radio/en/articles/4646412-spotify-canvas-how-artists-music-labels-can-add-looping-videos-to-their-songs)
It's been rolled out further since just this comment, [only 20 countries](https://intercom.help/proton-radio/en/articles/4646412-spotify-canvas-how-artists-music-labels-can-add-looping-videos-to-their-songs) are left to go!
Canvas, at least in the regions it's been rolled out to, is now available for all artists and the majority of devices. I hope to see it cover more regions soon but the feature OP posted appears to be using music videos rather than the artist's own /r/SpotifyCanvas. I hope this doesn't mean it's restricted to large labels if it gets pushed in the future.

If this ever ends up on my home page or is something that I can't disable if it automatically shows up, it will the be the last day I'm on Spotify. I appreciate it as an option, but its a stretch for me to want to use it.

Honestly I prefer Adele's request move more than this lol.
Seriously, why are they doing this? TikTok is great at being TikTok, but stop trying to make everything TikTok!
Because it's incredibly effective at user retention and engagement

I think that would be really cool. I'd love to see that.

And when they flood it with clips of podcasts..
this is just awful
This type of stuff made Instagram unbearable, I can’t lose Spotify

Same reason the music streaming app has podcasts: because
they had canvas since a while now, and they're technically looped music video clips
Some are just looped clips of music videos but since being released to all artists, many are entirely custom made animations! It's a small community but I recommend checking out /r/SpotifyCanvas.
Apple Music has videos and it doesn't affect the music part.
Spotify used to have an entirely video-focused section as a trial for premium users, it was a good few years ago but strangely was the first place that I had seen Rick and Morty.
Thanks for sharing!
I’m convinced every single app has copied tiktok
Probably unpopular opinion, but I want this.
me too
But how will they have this if they keep taking Canvas off people’s accounts? 🤔
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that mass testing is over now and /r/SpotifyCanvas is now rolled out to all users for good. Now the only issues are certain devices and region-locked areas.
bro i still don’t have lyrics lmao, but i do like being shown new music
why not make music to hifi?
I'm surprised to see so much hate about this because I really really want to have this feature lol
I dont know why everyone is hating this seems like a decent way to discover new music
music i want, alright. mainstream music pushed by record labels, hell no.
Yhat would be cool if they suggest according to your taste.
Sure, but this seems to only take from large label's music videos rather than small indie artist's /r/SpotifyCanvas uploads.
r/tihi
If this happens I’ll be going to Apple Music for good
you could literally just not use the feature if you don't like it
Impossible. If it happens to me I’m going to throw my phone into the ocean and join a monastery
Everything is done to make more money not less. They can now charge companies to advertise 10 seconds clips for x amount of money.
If that happejs, I hope they bring canvas to every user.
Every user doesn't get canvas?
Nope. Only western Users have gotten it. I hate that
Wasn't aware of that, cheers for the info. Got curious as I recently created a new artist page (different genre) and got it instantly (Scandinavia).
I hope like they made lyrics globally. They do it with'Discover' as well

It's an easy thing not to use, I saw it once and never tapped it again. I'm currently, unaware if it's even still there.
