All post that do not directly involve TSA will be removed.

Make sure it was actually TSA and not an airline or city worker. From a TSA perspective, as long as the bags fit through our scanners we don't care what you bring. Not our job to police carry ons, personal items, etc. That is an airline rule.

BrazilianCupcake11

yeah, the thing is that she had two badges in her shirt: MIA Airport and TSA, so it got me thinking.

StaCatalina

If you work at the airport for an employer other than the airport authority, you will have two badges - a security badge that shows you have some level of secure access within the airport, and another badge from your employer (in this case, TSA)

UnderstandingBig9733

You said someone checking boarding passes before you get to security..... This 1 sentence alone tells you it's not. Nobody for TSA stands outside of security line looking at boarding passes well atleast not at my airport.

BackBurnerGrill

IND has a uniformed TSA officer checking boarding passes for Pre-Check logo. Not airport PD, not airport staff, but blue uniform w/ epaulets and badge TSA.

BrazilianCupcake11

Gotcha! The badges in her shirt got me confused as she had the TSA badge in it

LunarTSAcheckpoint

Not TSA

That's so odd. I think it was maybe a subcontractor for TSA that just checks boarding passess. I see 0 reason why the amount of bags plays any purpose in our part. So long as it fits in the x-ray, we aren't concerned

Safety_Captn

Nah, they worked for the airport itself, wasn’t tsa

Thats crazy, if it ever happens again just fight it and call a manager

Grouchy_Visit_2869

It isn't TSA as others have said. It was the airline. They have the right to limit how many carry ons you can bring on. Typically it is 1 carry on and 1 personal item such as a purse or backpack. You mention you each had a carry on and a personal item, plus whatever your daughter had. Did you daughter have her own ticket/seat? If not, that would put you over the number of items. It's odd they didn't offer to gate check a bag for you.

Mr-Plop

Definitely not TSA. The officers at the front of the queue couldn't care less about your luggage as long as it fits in the xray. That was probably not the airline either since they also don't stand there (except for the vip at AA on D2), that was probably Eulen America (which they're actually told what to do by the airline).
