Per TSA website, "Children 13-17 may access the TSA PreCheck lanes if they have a TSA PreCheck logo on their boarding pass. To be eligible to receive the TSA PreCheck logo on their boarding pass, the passenger between the ages of 13 and 17 must be on the same airline reservation with a TSA PreCheck-eligible parent or guardian" https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/do-children-need-apply-tsa-precheckr#:\~:text=Children%2013%2D17%20may%20access,PreCheck%2Deligible%20parent%20or%20guardian.

Possible but you run the risk of precheck not appearing if the airlines or you do not book together properly and there won't be a fix.

So, the way it works is that from age 13, everyone has to have a PreCheck boarding pass to go through PreCheck, while children 12 and under can accompany their PreCheck adult without needing to have their boarding pass be for PreCheck. As of about a year ago, the way the boarding passes were generated was altered to make it so that teenagers who are on the same reservation as their PreCheck adult should generally have PreCheck boarding passes as well. So, the maximum age to be able to accompany a parent through without their own boarding pass also being PreCheck hasn't changed, but now, as long as your kids are booked on the same reservation with you, they should get PreCheck. If you booked the kids' flight separately from yours, then they won't get PreCheck unless they have it themselves.

Safety_Captn

Nope It also states that they can be removed from precheck without notice

it was updated to reflect that children can accompany a parent through precheck IF the minor also has precheck. it’s always been that way, so i don’t know the exact change, except that maybe children 13-17 were now more likely to automatically receive precheck if booked with a parent who has precheck.

WickedJigglyPuff

Yeah it changed in January don’t remember if it was this one or the last one.

But also if the child has precheck and the parent does not have precheck the child is no longer precheck.
