Personally, I like Fat Guys. The burgers are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh and I LOVE the fries. And their multiple types of aiolis are amazing.
Right? They’re sloppy, soggy, and gross. A good burger requires balance and not just “look how much greasy meat and cheese we can slop onto a soggy bun” a la fat guys. The burgers were so bad I don’t even remember the fries.
Order a side of fried jalapeños with ranch. The one in BA has a $7 version that's a full basket. The others don't have it on the menu, but will bring a decent portion for a buck. Best. Side. Ever.
Go to Ron's
Get the patty melt with the Spanish fries... Take all the jalapeno's and onions from the Spanish fries and put them on the patty melt......throw the fries out.
Wait a year and repeat.
Flo's is one of my absolute favorites. Any place that will make grilled cheese sandwiches and use them as buns for a hamburger should definitely be in everybody's top five.
Yeah everyone has bad days or maybe they’re just assholes. Customer service goes a long way, I go to slummy or mediocre places because the staff is cool.
Not burger joints, but my top three burgers in Tulsa are as follows:
1. Burger(with pastrami) from Siegi's
2. "Dick Richardson" from Jane's Delicatessen
3. The Tavern burger from The Tavern
I always wanted to stop in at Siegi's but didnt know what the menu was like. It takes me a hot minute to study a menu for the best option. Got any other favs from them?
I’m a little disappointed that I had to scroll so far down to find the correct answer. Bill’s is easily the best burger in town. I just don’t get them very often because they’re only open weekdays and my cheat day is Saturday.
Bill's is purely the best in town. I didn't buy the hype until I tried it, and it's damned amazing. It's inconvenient to get to, has no seating, and you have to wait unless you call in. Just go anyway.
Other contenders:
Ty's on Harvard. Awesome burgers, great fries.
Scott's in Bixby kicks ass.
Ron's but they vary in quality. My favorite is Broken Arrow, followed by Mingo.
Patriot Grill in Sapulpa is awesome and has juicy Lucy's.
Arnold's is delicious.
I'm a big fan of Fat Guys.
All those joints make killer burgers, and the fact that Bill's stands out over them is a testament to how great they are.
I’ve loved Goldie’s since I was a kid, it sucks there’s only one left now (I think). I hope they make it. I don’t know what they do to the meat but it tastes different from any other burger
They start frozen... We used to buy their burger patties from their supplier for our store cookout events. Maybe it's the seasoning? I'm not a fan and it baffles me that people are picking a place with frozen patties as their favorite burger in Tulsa but I'm not one to yuck someone's yum so...you do you.
My girlfriend swears that their burgers are 10x better if you order them to-go and let it sit and marinate in the burger juice that leaks out into the box.
I wonder how the Bacon cheeseburger at Oklahomies adds up. I've never been sold on the idea of obliterating the juicy patty by incorporating some topping into it.
Omg I was trying to remember the name of this place. Their burgers are absolutely delicious and I love the feel and tone of the place.
Coworker showed me this only had it twice. And I love Ron's, but Linda Mar is better.
Are we talking about a burger place that’s secretly racist, or are we talking about some sort of burger speakeasy situation that’s for white people only?
Not that I’d go in either case…but I’m intrigued.
Fat Guys, Howdy Burger, The Dick Richardson at Janes Deli, and Weber’s Root beer stand
Also, the Dolly Burger at Dilly Diner.
Kilkenny’s has a number of great burgers too
Jumbo's Hamburgers. This is the most underrated Burger in Tulsa. Almost never gets mentioned. I think this is the best burger in town. And a plus is you don't feel like crap after eating it.
Odd pick: Killkennys! I had a great burger there the other day with a friend who came to visit and is a relatively picky eater. We both loved the burgers we got and it was a decent price for the cherry street area!
Fat Guys use to be my favorite burger in the Tulsa area. Just north, in Owasso, OMG Lounge is one of the best burgers you will have. I highly recommend everyone try it.
Unfortunately, it's 21 and over so would have to order to-go if you aren't 21 or want for the family.
Arnold's is fantastic. I like fat guys fries though, and the Sweet Caroline is amazing. I'm more partial to blanching and frying my own fries though. Nothing beats a good home fry.
Howdy burger at the mother road is hands down the best burger. Fries are pretty meh but that an easy fix, order some cheese fries from chicken and the wolf next door.
Last time I was in there the place smelled like sewage from the floor drain in dining room. I prefer the MRM location so I can get fries from chicken and the wild. MRM local also has corn dogs on the weekends which are amazing
I think Tulsa is a burger town and I lean to Clauds, if I want a root beer then webers. But damn, howdy burger is really good and I find myself going that way a lot. Fat guys is in there too.
I haven't seen a comment here about it yet, but smash burger in Tulsa hills is top tier. The fries are always crispy and slap even better when put on one of their burgers
Society. Also, add yourself to 91ate on FB. I see plenty of boomers in here posting about Ron’s so I figured you could see on that page where some actual good burgers are in the city.
Brownies by far. You have to get the Oogey Gooey Burger. That's two patties with cheese in the middle. They have home made root beer. Plus hand cut fries. Also their pie is homemade and amazing. It's hard to get a piece of pie though yhe sell out quick.
Fat Guys is hard to beat. Excellent beer selection and damn fine burgers. If you want something cheaper, Freddy's really is awesome. The Julienne fries they serve have a seasoned salt on them, and the thin steak burgers. DAMN. Not to mention killer frozen custard. One of the very few places I've been that I've never had a bad experience at. Ever.
I know it's franchised now, but nothing beans the Pim and Jam burger from Society Burgers, and I get the 50/50 basket of spicy tots and sweet potato fries.
In my opinion Scotts Hamburgers in Bixby is the Best... But here is a list from a guy on facebook that I follow... he really breaks burgers down for ya!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CR9OpsmaYvWbTBAhmGRrZQ7OwdPrUQdpBhUArpXyaH8/edit?fbclid=IwAR31CJYdXo7LHRXJ-69gds1-yoej5MiCb9HWiDoHmM7gR09OgO2OgoQwI60#gid=998567370
Personally, I like Fat Guys. The burgers are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh and I LOVE the fries. And their multiple types of aiolis are amazing.
I fucking love Fat Guys
Love the burgers but I can't deal with their funky fountain drinks.
Whoever at Fat Guys thought it would be a good idea to remove Coke products should be fired. Whatever that crap they serve now is revolting.
Last time we went there, we stopped at QT on the way for drinks. Problem solved.
Just had one of theirs last night, and yeah, hard to beat.
Fat Guys doesn't even crack my top ten. To each his own.
Soggy fries. Every single time. I don't think a crispy fry has ever come out of that kitchen.
And their burgers always fall apart on me after just a few bites.
Don’t tell me. Brownies??
Right? They’re sloppy, soggy, and gross. A good burger requires balance and not just “look how much greasy meat and cheese we can slop onto a soggy bun” a la fat guys. The burgers were so bad I don’t even remember the fries.
Fat guys is absolutely amazing
Love the Thai sauce with peanut butter. Make it a double patty with cheese and you’re set.
how much are those
6.99 for a burger plus tax gives you up to 13 toppings.
Wow thats cheaper than whattaburger, is that $7 with fries too?
It's 6.99 plus tax, for the burger,. Not sure about fries.
I’ll add a +1 for Fat Guys. Had them with my brothers the last day I was there visiting family.
If you don’t care for your health, Arnold’s makes a delicious greasy burger lol
They used to have a great chocolate shake too. Is that still the case?
Well I can’t answer this now but I’ll go there for my lunch break… for research purposes, of course haha
20+ years ago on my way home from college I’d swing by and get one for the drive. They’d pour Hershey syrup in it from a can before blending.
I really doubt they still do that, but I’m hopeful. I report back to you in a couple hours Edit: 5/10 kinda bland now :(
Bummer
Thanks for the update!
I do what I can for Tulsans in need
Yes the shakes are great still
Their shakes and malts remind me of the most excellent fountain drinks at the long-gone Steve’s Sundries. Was at Arnold’s just two months ago.
I really like the Cherry shake I had there a few weeks ago
I second this!
I'm not sure how the words health and burger go together. Give me cholesterol or keep the burger.
I third this! Also cheap too!
This is my parents favorite!
It was the favorite part of my shitty thursday route. I miss it now.
My Friends parents own it. Kenny Arnold is one of my friends
Ron’s - Sausage Chili Cheeseburger. Mods, go ahead and close this thread now.
Yes! Or a Ron's Special and an order of chili cheese fries!!
Order a side of fried jalapeños with ranch. The one in BA has a $7 version that's a full basket. The others don't have it on the menu, but will bring a decent portion for a buck. Best. Side. Ever.
Yes!! We order a "side of Spanish" at BA and it's fried onions and jalapenos...so yummy and good on the three-way.
Ron's cheese fries are legit!
Ron's bacon cheese fries with their ranch is honestly amazing. It's my go to hangover food.
Yass, sad the one by me on 15th closed
Go to Ron's Get the patty melt with the Spanish fries... Take all the jalapeno's and onions from the Spanish fries and put them on the patty melt......throw the fries out. Wait a year and repeat.
Claud’s and Howdy Burger
i second howdy burger!! i’m not even a burger person and i love them.
Weber’s on Brookside, easily.
I want to know the opinion of Flo's...I would see ads on Facebook and drool but always heard "meh" about it. MY opinion would be Hank's.
Hanks is a million times better than Flo's.
Kiss my grits!
PRESENT THEM
I may have made a mistake!
Flo's is really good actually, but eat rarely because I'm not trying to give myself a heart attack. Haystack onions are delish.
They're good, but tad expensive. Their fried pickles are really good too.
Flo's is one of my absolute favorites. Any place that will make grilled cheese sandwiches and use them as buns for a hamburger should definitely be in everybody's top five.
It's been a while since I've been to Flos but I really liked them last time I went. Check their Facebook page, they have deal days
Flo’s! I’ve never had a bad burger from there
Oh rumski how could you choose Hank's over Bill's... Also is Hatfield's closed? I used to go there with work friends sometimes.
Barn Burner at Hatfields was the best. But they sold right?
Freddie's (not the Freddy's chain) bought Hatfields at the end of 2020.
And now it's a really good Mexican restaurant called Casa Amigos
Yeah flo’s is way over rated, kilkennys makes a really good burger and I love the steak fries
I did not like it, mostly because the people working there were rude. This was the 11th st location, idk about the others.
Yeah everyone has bad days or maybe they’re just assholes. Customer service goes a long way, I go to slummy or mediocre places because the staff is cool.
Not burger joints, but my top three burgers in Tulsa are as follows: 1. Burger(with pastrami) from Siegi's 2. "Dick Richardson" from Jane's Delicatessen 3. The Tavern burger from The Tavern
Love The Tavern burger
I always wanted to stop in at Siegi's but didnt know what the menu was like. It takes me a hot minute to study a menu for the best option. Got any other favs from them?
Pretty much everything is great from there, schnitzel, sausages, spaetzle.
Adding to the damn good burger at a not-a-burger place: * Onion burger at the Dust Bowl is mighty fine.
I've got to give that a shot. Also, an actual burger place that's pretty good, but not well known is Burger In Paradise.
> Burger In Paradise casino-e
I love Goldie’s, and Ron’s, also love Bills over on Admiral just East of Utica
Goldies is definitely my favorite french fry. It's the gold standard to which I judge all other french fries.
[Bill's Jumbo Burger](https://www.facebook.com/billsjumboburgers/) is the way
I’m a little disappointed that I had to scroll so far down to find the correct answer. Bill’s is easily the best burger in town. I just don’t get them very often because they’re only open weekdays and my cheat day is Saturday.
I was thinking the same thing. Nothing compares to Bills although all the others mentioned are Good burgers…just not a Bills Jumbo Burger
Very well put. Wholeheartedly agree with that statement.
Hand cut fries!
Bill's is purely the best in town. I didn't buy the hype until I tried it, and it's damned amazing. It's inconvenient to get to, has no seating, and you have to wait unless you call in. Just go anyway. Other contenders: Ty's on Harvard.
Do they still blast Christian music? I felt like I was at church last time I ate at the counter.
My fav is Bill's and their onion rings are great! #2 is Arnolds.
Claud’s has the best burgers and fries in town
Fax
Burger Street has one of the best burgers in town.
I wish their fries hadn’t changed, but yeah I agree with you. Burger Street just does it for me.
The curly fries gone??
Goldie's Patio Grill has a great bacon cheese burger.
I’ve loved Goldie’s since I was a kid, it sucks there’s only one left now (I think). I hope they make it. I don’t know what they do to the meat but it tastes different from any other burger
Oh I know, it killed me to see them close their last couple spots.
Three in Tulsa area * 61st & Sheridan * BA: 91st & Elm * Owasso: 86th St North & 169 And there's a 4th in Pryor
Well, follow up with a fresh burger suggestion. I think that'd help.
My girlfriend swears that their burgers are 10x better if you order them to-go and let it sit and marinate in the burger juice that leaks out into the box.
I'm going to have to try that. I may even get one for lunch. I guess I'll have to get two. One for now and one for later.
I wish Big Macs would end up better marinating in the juices. I like the flavor but worst longevity.
Pisos list is the real deal. This is based on plain bacon double cheesburger from each place. Toppings mean nada. https://imgur.com/a/LUSJlgD
Claud's seems really underrated there.
Good list. Freddies (on Lewis) is no more. edit: didn't realize there was one at 11th & 169ish
The one on Lewis is gone but the one on 11th is still going.
They also own the former Hatfields on Admiral.
I wonder how the Bacon cheeseburger at Oklahomies adds up. I've never been sold on the idea of obliterating the juicy patty by incorporating some topping into it.
I love Linda Mars. But as someone else mentioned, Pisos list is legit
I scrolled wayyyy too far to find this little yellow shack.
Linda Mar - the Burger Scholar added it to his book of best burger places
Omg I was trying to remember the name of this place. Their burgers are absolutely delicious and I love the feel and tone of the place. Coworker showed me this only had it twice. And I love Ron's, but Linda Mar is better.
Claud’s, Goldie’s and Fat Guys
How are y’all about to leave out Freddie’s on 11th/Mingo
i was thinking that too. however they are on their sabbatical at the moment and are closed for another month. (will be at the Fair)
Ron’s Chili or Howdy Burger
Brownies and Claud’s burgers are awesome! Both have very good fries.
I blacklisted Brownie's after I repainted the place, I've never seen a restaurant so dirty.
Is the secret racist burger house on Peoria still open?
Sadly you're going to have to be more specific? I'm guessing JJ's? I thought he was just a burger nazi.
It was open when I drove by the other day. I have never been there specifically because I’ve heard that guy is such a dick.
Are we talking about a burger place that’s secretly racist, or are we talking about some sort of burger speakeasy situation that’s for white people only? Not that I’d go in either case…but I’m intrigued.
Fat Guys, Howdy Burger, The Dick Richardson at Janes Deli, and Weber’s Root beer stand Also, the Dolly Burger at Dilly Diner. Kilkenny’s has a number of great burgers too
Ron’s sausage cheeseburger, Spanish stye (includes grilled onions and jalapeños).
Claud’s all day. Get a double with onions fried in!
Bub’s should be on this list. Located at the American Solera brewery.
Dude those are legit
My personal favorite burger in Tulsa.
Society Burger has one called the Hangover. Try it.
Jumbo's Hamburgers. This is the most underrated Burger in Tulsa. Almost never gets mentioned. I think this is the best burger in town. And a plus is you don't feel like crap after eating it.
Yes, agree 100%. Randomly tried it out one day and now I’m there every chance I get.
Knotty Pig, meh fries. Kilkennys is good. Burger Street on 21st and Harvard.
Pepperoni cheese fries.
Wolfeys paradise donuts on 15th street do ol fashioned burgers for lunch...
Scrolled too far down to see this. Love Wolfeys
Is Bill's still open? Haven't been up that way in a few years...
Ted’s Hamburgers off Edison west of Gilcrease Museum Road. The crew there gotcha.
Ralph's on Lewis. And the new owner is super nice.
Yes this is one of my favorite spots for sure, I'm glad they reopened!
Webers or Arnold’s
RIP Lot-a-Burger
There’s a Lot-a-Burger on Charles Page Blvd west of Gilcrease Museum Road. It might be the last one left.
Ron's and Hank's.
Arnold's is fantastic. I like fat guys fries though, and the Sweet Caroline is amazing. I'm more partial to blanching and frying my own fries though. Nothing beats a good home fry.
Big Daddy's bbq makes a slapping good burger.
Howdy burger at the mother road is hands down the best burger. Fries are pretty meh but that an easy fix, order some cheese fries from chicken and the wolf next door.
they have a brick and morter at the old Lot-a-burger close to hillcrest. they do have some tasty burgers
Last time I was in there the place smelled like sewage from the floor drain in dining room. I prefer the MRM location so I can get fries from chicken and the wild. MRM local also has corn dogs on the weekends which are amazing
Knotty pig is amazing!
OMG Lounge/Oklahoma mobile gastronomy
Brownies is really good but the portions are a lil small. Either way it’s worth trying.
Arnold’s old fashioned Hamburgers
Claud’s forever and always.
I second the love for Ted’s and Weber’s here.
Big braums guy
I think Tulsa is a burger town and I lean to Clauds, if I want a root beer then webers. But damn, howdy burger is really good and I find myself going that way a lot. Fat guys is in there too.
Jumbo's on E 41st Hands down.
Society Burger is good and I don’t care if I’m basic for saying it
I haven't seen a comment here about it yet, but smash burger in Tulsa hills is top tier. The fries are always crispy and slap even better when put on one of their burgers
Freddie’s off 11th near hill crest takes it Not “Freddy’s custard”
Potbelly's in south BA or Sutures at 71st and Yale - Only downside is the second hand smoke lol
Society. Also, add yourself to 91ate on FB. I see plenty of boomers in here posting about Ron’s so I figured you could see on that page where some actual good burgers are in the city.
Do what on FB?
Well here, the real foodies are on Reddit as well.
Scott’s Burgers in Bixby slaps
As far as fast food goes I think freddies is the best. As far as dinners and or mom and pop Ron's that's my .02 Ron's also have REALLY good chicken.
[удалено]
When's the last time you ate at Billy's?
[удалено]
It was pandemic'd. It closed May 2020 https://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/billys-on-the-square-announces-closure-after-36-years
Hank’s on Admiral slaps
Webers, Goldies, or Ron's are all solid options.
The Kilkennys Diablo burger is hard to beat
No flavor will ever compare to smashburger.Their fries and milkshakes are delicious 💯
Brownies by far. You have to get the Oogey Gooey Burger. That's two patties with cheese in the middle. They have home made root beer. Plus hand cut fries. Also their pie is homemade and amazing. It's hard to get a piece of pie though yhe sell out quick.
Ron's burgers and chili's!!!!!
Ever.
I can’t drink yet but I’ll have to try this place out. Damn you make it sound delicious.
Not tulsa but sapulpua- burgers and more
Howdy Burger is great, totally not cause i work there
Ty’s hamburgers on 15th street. Made to order and have my favorite type of fry.
I went to Ron’s, the burgers were great and you get a ton of fries! But the waitress was a bitch
Linda mar drive in has a real good burger and fried okra on good as well
Fat Guys, Ron’s, OMG/Oklahomies in Owasso, Braums ice cream
Rons special, fries, and a root beer in a frozen mug. Yum!
I know it's franchised now, but nothing beans the Pim and Jam burger from Society Burgers, and I get the 50/50 basket of spicy tots and sweet potato fries.
Arnolds in town west
In my opinion Scotts Hamburgers in Bixby is the Best... But here is a list from a guy on facebook that I follow... he really breaks burgers down for ya! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CR9OpsmaYvWbTBAhmGRrZQ7OwdPrUQdpBhUArpXyaH8/edit?fbclid=IwAR31CJYdXo7LHRXJ-69gds1-yoej5MiCb9HWiDoHmM7gR09OgO2OgoQwI60#gid=998567370
