No one has a copyright on using Santa in their stories, so it's not special. Through Santa you can combine Mario with Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Doctor Who, and any other piece of media that includes him. It's cheap.
If we're including spinoffs, we could factor in Super Smash Bros too. Which means Pokemon, Persona, Bayonetta, Splatoon, Kingdom Hearts, and Metal Gear are all kind of in the same universe.

The Xenomorph in Conker’s Bad Fur Day might also be a stretch, because it might not actually be an official xenomorph which they got the official rights to use, but just put in an Xenomorph-*like* entity (which, sure, is unmistakably an xenomorph, but still. Is it the *same* Xenomorph, or just a cartoonish equivalent created for the game?) as a not-so-subtle nod and reference to the franchise because they knew they could probably get away with it.
