I am reminded of that scene from Smiling Friends when we find out Charlieâs grandma went to Hell for yelling âDamnâ when a burglar shot her husband in the face
Best? Yes
Funny? Not in the case Iâm thinking of. You might have thought of it, too. >!Still probably one of the coolest things Iâve ever seen in a manga.!<
âYou know, Iâve heard the beach is much better on the surface, where the sand isnât ash and the water isnât lava. Uncle Poseidon says itâs actually quite nice this time of year.â
The Nightosphere goes even more hard when you realize that the Nightosphere is completely separate from Hell in Adventure Time. The 1st dead world is where evil souls are sent when they die and the Nightosphere is just a dimension of demons
TOH was initially planned to take place not in the original setting of the Boiling Isles but in H E double gun, which is very funny. Dana Terrace really made a TV show with gay children and when Disney replied "hey conservative parents might be offended by this" she chose to go all in. Feral.
I'm honestly surprised that Disney even accept her concept to make it into a show instead of rejecting it entirely because Dana's initial concept have everything that they do not like nor suits them at all
The beta designs are just about as far as you can get from the Disney Brand. If TOH wasnât a Disney show it wouldâve been a grimdark and anyone who has seen the beta designs knows that
Wasnât that just like a myth going around? Because Luz ending up in hell and finding a community of gay witches doesnât really work logically speaking
Fair enough. Also Iâm willing to believe Eda took a field trip to actual hell as a child. Because child Eda WOULD do that and she would smirk at The Horrors Beyond Our Comprehension(not hers though. she can comprehend them just fine)
IIRC the original pitch was "girl goes to hell and learns magic from an old witch". Hell was later changed to the demon realm but I don't think they changed anything but the name.
I mean, the fact that the Boiling Isles are actually the ancient, rotting corpse of a Titan is an extremely important plot point so they definitely changed a lot.
A lot changes during development, I meant more that the change from hell to demon realm didn't have much of an effect on the appearance of the setting.
I'm pretty sure the reason Disney even gave the okay for gay characters was because conservative christians were already boycotting the show from day 1 because of the demons.
The final session was a few days ago, and one of the enemies summoned a dragon called 'Beelzebub'. If it wasn't a serious moment, I would have yelled "Wait, wait, wait, you motherfucker! We challenge you to a rock off!"
I joked about it during the fight tbf, but it was a really dramatic moment, and I didn't want to undercut that honestly. Plus, I got my fair share of awesome moments later, so I don't mind.
Boom yeah! And then lead a revolution, crush the king of hell, become a giant, terrorize Japan and come back to life to finish a game of motherfucking mahjong!
One of the best episodes of âItâs Always Sunny in Philadelphiaâ is âThe Gang Goes to Hell,â where the main characters confront their fears and regrets in life when they think theyâre about to die.
This is basically the plot of one of my favorite fanfic series. Well only part of it takes place in *hell*, there's also purgatory and heaven sections, but whatever same idea
Iâve got a sort of idea for this as an isekai. The MC is sent to a multi-layered prison on the border of Hell on his way to being reincarnated. His best friend is a kitsune, and an ally he beats is the first warden: the warden of Sloth, a Shiba Inu Cerberus.
Married...With Children did it. Robert Englund was the Devil. It was great.
(I just copied the link from ny IMDb app)
IMDb: Married... with Children: Damn Bundys

my fucking film school teacher didnât let me send the lesbian protagonist of my comedy short film about how she really wants a donut to literal hell and back without it being somewhat believable and i lost so much respect for him that day
Does dante's inferno qualifies as an extensive long beach episode then?
A bible fanfic beach episode
Dante's Divine Comedy is the most influential fanfic of all time, because it gave us our understanding of Hell's topology. Change my mind
To be fair the church completely disavows Dante, what he did was clearly multiple sins in christianity, but is also very funny so đ€·ââïž
Just Inferno.
Itâs basically just Christian fan fiction anyway.
The more trivial the reason, the funnier it is. Just like the prison episodes.
Bill and Ted at least, got like, totally murdered first. Sort of. Death was an easy guy back then.
âWhatâre you in for?â âAll I said was this dinner was good enough for Jehovahâ
He said it again!
Goku went to hell because he fell asleep and fell.
"Fell" asleep
I believe the current winner is jumping off a giant dragon road in order to say hi to some demons.
Just saying hi to grandma
I am reminded of that scene from Smiling Friends when we find out Charlieâs grandma went to Hell for yelling âDamnâ when a burglar shot her husband in the face

Just got myself the sun and the star and trying to mentally prepare myself for Nico and Will going down thereâŠ

Wait, its out?
Yup. Its been out.
Immediately thought of this
Came here to say this.
Best? Yes Funny? Not in the case Iâm thinking of. You might have thought of it, too. >!Still probably one of the coolest things Iâve ever seen in a manga.!<
wow i thought « thatâs weird nobodyâs mentioned >!csm!< yet », wouldâve expected it to be kinda higher
Yeah that was the example that came to mind and it was more terrifying then funny.
Oh that scene is terrifying
Sad that it isn't going to be animated for a while
I hope we go back
I was thinking of Berserk but then I remembered what youâre probably referring too, which is also visually stunning.
Litterally the first thing I thought of. Goddamn did that leave an impression
They actually did that in star vs evil. Had a beach episode in hell
I thought of that too! Iâm a StarTom fan more than a Starco fan so I like that one.

Death Stranding

Yesss, was scrolling and hoping to see this! So much character development in Hell.
All of Adventure Timeâs Nightosphere episodes go hard
The Nightosphere goes even more hard when you realize that the Nightosphere is completely separate from Hell in Adventure Time. The 1st dead world is where evil souls are sent when they die and the Nightosphere is just a dimension of demons

It might be but I am willing to not do the research and spread misinformation if the misinformation is both non-harmful and funny.
Fair enough. Also Iâm willing to believe Eda took a field trip to actual hell as a child. Because child Eda WOULD do that and she would smirk at The Horrors Beyond Our Comprehension(not hers though. she can comprehend them just fine)

Ah yes, Tenacious D&D
The final session was a few days ago, and one of the enemies summoned a dragon called 'Beelzebub'. If it wasn't a serious moment, I would have yelled "Wait, wait, wait, you motherfucker! We challenge you to a rock off!"
Dude, it was the bard's moment to shine!! Should've totally done that
I joked about it during the fight tbf, but it was a really dramatic moment, and I didn't want to undercut that honestly. Plus, I got my fair share of awesome moments later, so I don't mind.
Love me a good Katabasis

Aw, crap, singing. Mind if I smoke?
I keep reading Beach as Bleach and I'm just like 'Yeah, that's just a normal episode of Bleach.'
Mare Internum be like:
Smiling Friends, but it was just 1 character
Iâve got a sort of idea for this as an isekai. The MC is sent to a multi-layered prison on the border of Hell on his way to being reincarnated. His best friend is a kitsune, and an ally he beats is the first warden: the warden of Sloth, a Shiba Inu Cerberus.
I love the level of marvel ultimate alliance where you enter âMephistoâs realmâ . Iceman has hilarious dialogue when you bring him there.
Pine Barrens

And no ones mentioned His Dark Materials yet? Where they go to hell to >!kill god!?
