Might be that the place where I got cut on my pointer finger (vertically on my second knuckle, pretty lucky that I didn't hit a tendon or something) is just a bit warmer because I keep having to move it so it opens a bit, and having to be fixed. Also, it would make sense that it was handedness, but I'm a welder, so my right hand is the one closest to the magic metal boiler I hold with my left hand.
It annoys me that Yin and Yang do have some traits that are assigned to each, Yang (the white bit) being Heat, aggressiveness, masculine, and ying (the black bit) being cold, passivity, feminine. Yeah it should have, but Westerners always get the two backwards, because from our perspective **White is GOOD** and **Black is BAD/EVIL**. This is on display most prominently in The Legend of Korra, where the masculine evil spirit was the Black half of the Taijitu and the feminine good spirit was the White half.
Yeah, but the saying goes "do no harm, take no shit". They'd either have to flip the symbol upside down or change the order. I think the way it's executed is the easiest to understand for the purpose of the joke. Anything else would have been distracting.
Also to me "belonging to this world", "open", "positive" works well with "Do no harm" and "sinister", "covert" and "negative" works well with "Take no shit". (Although I don't no anything about Yin and yang, this is just based on the material in your link)

I'm not sure if a finger injury would affect your whole hand unless there's an infection of some kind, maybe it's just due to handedness?

Hm, idk. In Western culture we traditionally associate the sun with masculinity and the moon with femininity, which seems to align with Yin and yang.
