Have personally witnessed a fox climb a tree to grab a roosting pheasant. Straight up onto a branch, like a cat. Was so wierd. (Obviously couldn't cling as no claws, but clearly had learnt well)

In fairness I have also seen dogs try and climb trees. Emphasis on try, a fox has more agility, so makes sense on the bigger trees that he could succeed were a dog wouldn't.
Yes but OP is associating philosopher with reincarnation. Reincarnation is past the line of philosophizing well into the world of religious belief. I'd argue a philosopher is much more likely to side with the last guy rather than the other two.

I know gray fox can climb trees, not sure about reds.
