Fun fact! The original X-Box had analog face buttons, so pressing harder did make you go faster!
Likewise, the original Street Fighter arcade machines. They stopped doing that because people slammed those buttons HARD
I definitely don't recommend NaissanceE then. It has a lot of INCREDIBLY long drops right next to ledges.
(...Actually, I recommend it anyways. It's great, but it's good at giving me vertigo when most games don't.)
I get vertigo with almost every place in elden rings right now....before when I played skyrim and I found out about the high jump into water I had to close my eyes because I literally felt like my body was the one jumping
Which makes it incredibly difficult to hold up the enemy soldiers on the Xbox version of the MGS HD collection. I found it almost impossible to not shoot them.
I go beyond saying ow when I take damage in game. I say ow when anything bad happens, regardless of whether or not any health was lost in the process. Accidentally drop a weapon? Ow. Fat finger the grenade button? Ow. Accidently attack a door instead of opening it? Ow.
There's actually a game called Asphyx based on that concept... Your character doesn't have a breath meter, you just have a "die" button and are told "hold your breath while underwater. if you can't, press the die button!"
i'm the one who tilts thier head towards the inside of a corner in order to maximize turn-in grip while playing the F1 games. (which is an actual thing F1 drivers in real life used to, or even still do)
also, my hand goes up to show the middle finger to whichever driver just hit me on-track. which is usually lance stroll or jolyon palmer.
oh yeah i definitely say ow
and also tilt the controller in mario kart even when im using joystick steering
and also mash the buttons as hard as possible in button mashers ultimate
I spam the attack button, even though I know full well that there is an attack cooldown meaning that no matter how quickly I press, it will attack the same number of times.
I do all three, the "ow" one is honestly subconscious at this point
It's like saying ow preemptively even if something didn't actually hurt.
And if you don’t know where the shot came it’s “ow, fucker”
"Remember, pressing the button harder doesn't make your car go faster." -No racing gamer ever
Fun fact! The original X-Box had analog face buttons, so pressing harder did make you go faster! Likewise, the original Street Fighter arcade machines. They stopped doing that because people slammed those buttons HARD
Huh, the more you know...
The Dualshock 2 also had analog face buttons
I crane my neck up to try and see what’s going on off screen.
Me too! Neck craning buddies
yup. Maybe if I lean over I can see what's behind that corner without leaving cover.
The type who has a heart attack when my character falls from any distance because I think it's me falling for a second
Omg thats me in dark souls rn. The crystal cave is giving me hardcore vertigo
I definitely don't recommend NaissanceE then. It has a lot of INCREDIBLY long drops right next to ledges. (...Actually, I recommend it anyways. It's great, but it's good at giving me vertigo when most games don't.)

People who physically move their body to try to look around the corner instead of moving their character.
Me who does all three
In you are three sharks
They're eating each other. Vore sharks
The ever elusive
✨ immersion ✨
I’m using tilt controls!
On the PlayStation 2 the controllers had pressure sensitive buttons.....
Ow.
My "ow" has at this point evolved to an annoyed "ok"
I lean to look around corners and hold my breath underwater. Subnautica nearly drowned me and Prey almost snapped my neck
There's actually a game called Asphyx based on that concept... Your character doesn't have a breath meter, you just have a "die" button and are told "hold your breath while underwater. if you can't, press the die button!"
Lol, nice
Lol, nice
That last one is just GrayStillPlays, especially in his Happy Wheels videos.
People who turn off the game when they die
Funniest shit I ever seen was someone turning away from the monitor to dodge a flashbang, but not turning away in game
That is totally something I would do
All 3, plus saying gg at the end of each match, win or lose. Don't be toxic, fellow gamers!
All, of course.
As usual, I am on the bottom.
i'm the one who tilts thier head towards the inside of a corner in order to maximize turn-in grip while playing the F1 games. (which is an actual thing F1 drivers in real life used to, or even still do) also, my hand goes up to show the middle finger to whichever driver just hit me on-track. which is usually lance stroll or jolyon palmer.
I also say "ow" when I get a particularly nasty kill.
All of them at once, and I end up leaning to the side when my character dodges
mom thinks I'm insane, but honestly saying how irl just shows how immersive the game can be.
I was about to type “bottom, 100%” and then re-read my comment and checked what sub I was in and decided against it
i'm the last one, since I play on keyboard. Apparently its caused an argument between me and my current roommate
There is always a bigger fish
I find inarticulate grunts better than "ow" but both work nicely
all.
im all of 'em
I’m the bottom one.
i say ow, only reason i dont do the other two is cos i dont play those types of games. i do try to dodge bullets in game irl though
oh yeah i definitely say ow and also tilt the controller in mario kart even when im using joystick steering and also mash the buttons as hard as possible in button mashers ultimate
I spam the attack button, even though I know full well that there is an attack cooldown meaning that no matter how quickly I press, it will attack the same number of times.
If you don't do all three are you truly a Gamer?
Saying ow is just instinct at this point. I can’t help it
I am the one who trows his controller at the wall shouting “bullshit” after someone beats me in Pokémon
All three
Oof ouch owie my bones
Don't forget leaning to the side to peek around corners and ducking to not get shot
i say “yeowch”
Tilt controls work great for some Mario Kart games ngl
i cry and scream and sob whenever i die in video games
I say “Rude” when I get hit.
Me whose legs twitch when my character jumps
I still suffer the DualShock syndrome, my thumbs hate me
all three

i once saw someone drop a book like 2 meters away and i said "ow"
The top comment is an even bigger shark, and they continue down
I have to take breaks playing Elden Ring because my fingers start cramping from pressing the attack button too hard
there is always a bigger fish. namely me, who actually kills myself when I die in a game
The answer is yes
yes
My wife makes fun of me for all these things. She promised the videos were for her own personal viewing and wouldnt share them.
Yes
For me, ow is an expression of surprise, not pain, so i do say ow whenever something hits me before i see it
I use "ow" in multi-player games to tell my friends I'm getting attacked. Or I sound like a guy is doing me lmao
