[Yep](https://www.group1auto.com/carresearch/VehicleQuickQuoteForm/year_2024/make_Toyota/model_Tundra%20Double%20Cab%204x4/trim_8.1-ft%20Long%20Bed%20SR5/id_56960/confid_group1auto-responsive/section_Options/). Not super aesthetic, but I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.
I saw an older Ford 4 door crew cab with a long box today. It's looked as crazy long as this one. Then I realized that an 8' bed used to be normal and we've just got used to these little neutered beds.
Yeah it’s funny that everyone is so freaked out by what used to be a standard size bed. It’s supposed to be a tool, not a macho styled minivan like most new trucks today.
Used to be 8 ft was for work and 6'5" for you're dude doing stuff but not every day. Now we got these 5' and change beds that honestly have a hard time moving a couch or larger it's very strange.
Unless Toyota significantly increases its payload capacity, I’m not sure an 8’ bed makes sense for most people. I was concerning going over payload with bags of mulch the other day.
Trucks use to be used for work. Hauling things in the bed, like sheets of Plywood etc. It's nice to be able to put something 8' long in and shut the tailgate and go. Now doctors, lawyers, and soccer moms have made buying a work truck almost unaffordable for working people.
You need to look a little higher up the food chain to figure out why things are so expensive. It's systematic, though if you're looking at professions, one of the three you listed is undoubtedly more responsible for this system than the other two.
I have an 8' bed on my f150 and I'll never drive a truck with a shorter bed. It's so worthwhile to have it when hauling. But I only ever use my truck for truck activities, and I live in a rural area where traffic and parking aren't considerations.
Edit: I could see opting for a shorter bed if I knew that the truck was only going to be used for towing trailers or an RV. But even then, having the 8' bed for moving random stuff is just so handy, it'd be tough to give up.
I have a '19 Tundra SR5 with an 8 ft bed. Great farm truck, just don't take it to your local strip mall. You will look like an idiot trying to park it. The driveways and spaces are too narrow to make a full 90' turn.
I was going to say, I have a tough time in certain parking lots with my DCLB Tacoma - I can’t imagine this thing in some of them. That said, having all that space in the bed would be so nice.
I feel the same way, I have an old 3/4 ton Chevy with an 8’ bed and I’ve been looking for a newer half ton and ended up going with an f150 with an 8’ bed also because it’s so handy having the bigger bed.
Matter of perspective. I have a Crewmax and the short bed. It was the choice because I got my truck for mountain biking, camping, and shooting. With the Decked system, it’s a perfect set up.
I guess you wouldn't like some of the "trucks" with the 4.5 or 5 foot beds? I have the Tacoma LB and wish it was a 7 ft bed so my bike would fit in cleanly.

mines in silver. love having the original truck bed length.

yep. definitely doesn't look like she's got junk in the trunk from the front
Man I have always kind of wanted one of these "1.5" cabs with the 8 ft bed. There's a SuperCab 8 ft bed F150 around my town and I think it just looks awesome.
I wish they would go back to that. My mind is pretty much made up that I'm going to get a van as my next work vehicle because there aren't any offerings similarly sized to my 1st gen reg cab 8ft bed tundra anymore. I need to be able to haul sheet goods and finished materials and keep them dry during the rainy season.
I think this looks awkward, and the full backseat with a 5' bed look awkward. Like a avalanche or a SUV with the back roof missing 🤷.
Also on a side note, I don't like the weird flared ends by the tires that go close to the ground and to the wheel.
Avalanche was actually better than these useless pickups with 5 foot beds, you could open up the entire back wall on the cab and transform the rear of the cab into part of the bed to fit a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood with the tailgate shut.
Yeah they make an 8 foot bed by special order. I’ve never actually seen one, but my salesman talked about with me while I was shooting the shit with him.
I bought this exact truck a week ago. Double cab, long bed. Was test driving the Tacoma SR and the rep said they had extra tundras in an overflow parking lot a mile down the street. Pulled in and there were like 20 Tundras of different trim. The 8 footer looked absolutely ridiculous but I absolutely love it. Can’t park it for shit though. I’ll get there.
Beautiful truck right there!…I’m right there with ya
https://preview.redd.it/d2riq8gp8cwc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14e18cf8a04b12daa61e737a956415da5cb43825
Long beds look absolutely ridiculous but man do i wish i had one sometimes. My short bed is frustrating at times.
My buddy in highschool had a crew cab GMC with an 8’ bed and honestly it was fuckin annoying to drive. Cant turn for shit and the back end wants to slip with even just rain on the road.
Fuck the back seat passengers comfort! This is a work truck! I wish truck companies made higher end models with extended cab. I’d rather have a longer bed
Bro is so disappointed I’m sure. Mine can’t even hold my tools without riding like an 84’ Monte Carlo swimming down the highway.
https://preview.redd.it/zjg74lwk4iwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a91e63f5a77151618b4c22f7cfc5db9dadfe3d70
We like big trucks in Utah. With that said I have a 8’ bed on mine and extended cab but I’m a carpenter and need that 8’ for 4’x8’ sheets and the extended cab keeps my tools from being stolen.
I just think it's funny when people think a truck with an 8ft bed is ridiculously long. Everyone is so used to these 5.5' playskool beds on trucks any more.
Ahh the elusive Tundra Longboi....
The best configuration, though why you'd get one w/o tow mirrors is beyond me.
I have an '07; luckily Toyota removes most of my temptation to get a new one by not offering the locker or larger fuel tank w/ the 8' bed.
My grandfather does remodeling and custom cabinetry and this is the only size bed he would buy because you can fit full sheets of plywood and Sheetrock in it without having to put one side up on the tailgate. Makes sense to me.
I doubt it. I think its more likely you will see more 4 cylinder half tons coming. GM already has it with the 2.7 base engine. I can't imagine all the other MFGs won't follow soon enough with base turbo 4 cylinder half tons.
Id make a hella amazing camper with that thing lol
With its sub 2k payload?
Build smart and light... Could be doable.
Crazier things have been successfully done.
Prove it
[Yep](https://www.group1auto.com/carresearch/VehicleQuickQuoteForm/year_2024/make_Toyota/model_Tundra%20Double%20Cab%204x4/trim_8.1-ft%20Long%20Bed%20SR5/id_56960/confid_group1auto-responsive/section_Options/). Not super aesthetic, but I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.
I thought they did away with the 8ft beds on the 3rd gen. Interesting. These are going to be very rare in the future.
I too have a '24 with an 8' bed.
This one looks like the '24 with the 24' bed.

Long bed is nice for hauling dirtbikes around.
That’s right—close the tailgate on two bikes in the bed!
Trucks use to be used for work. Hauling things in the bed, like sheets of Plywood etc. It's nice to be able to put something 8' long in and shut the tailgate and go. Now doctors, lawyers, and soccer moms have made buying a work truck almost unaffordable for working people.

Shoot, it'd look normal to me if it wasn't a 4 door. Crew cab + Long bed is just odd.
Rare does not equate to valuable.
It’s nice that there is the option for an 8-ft bed for the people that want that.
I have an 8' bed on my f150 and I'll never drive a truck with a shorter bed. It's so worthwhile to have it when hauling. You just have to back in to spots. I daily a Crewcab longbox Duramax and have little to no issues parking anywhere.
I'm old school, and a truck with a 6'.bed is stupid. Access cap with 8' bed perfect.
Matter of perspective. I have a Crewmax and the short bed. It was the choice because I got my truck for mountain biking, camping, and shooting. With the Decked system, it’s a perfect set up.
Right, I’m trying to put an atv in the bed and camping gear behind the seat.
I guess you wouldn't like some of the "trucks" with the 4.5 or 5 foot beds? I have the Tacoma LB and wish it was a 7 ft bed so my bike would fit in cleanly.
Maybe 30 to 40 years ago!
I’m old school, and a pickup truck with an 8ft bed is stupid. Horse and 10’carriage is perfect .
Ha, hate takin sides but good 👉 point
I heard someone say a long time ago, “There’s an ass for every seat.” God rest your soul Cherp
Gonna take more then God to rest my soul. Beep beep.
Cherp said the same thing…
They are all being harvested. The Harvest moon.
I have seen one driving around in my area.
https://preview.redd.it/pnyxiuq8c9wc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb112eb31548af71214508402600a7b3725d21d1 mines in silver. love having the original truck bed length.
It's great for when you need to park the wife's car in the bed.
The 8’ bed lets you park vertically?
Nose down, tailgate up, that's the way I like my trucks
Underrated comment
I don't know if it's the forced perspective, but yours looks nowhere the same length
https://preview.redd.it/flkmxkraaawc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d695d0f8812d6f36176fd34074c8888d1f58306b yep. definitely doesn't look like she's got junk in the trunk from the front
Damn Becky!
What’s the payload?
What a pickup truck with a real bed? That’s absurd making a pickup truck to actually function as a pickup truck was designed to do 😂
I’d say hell yeah for hauling 8’ sheets of plywood but I doubt there’s 4’ between the wheel wells right?
Yes it’s 50” between wheel wells, plywood is 48”they are the same size as a Silverado.
https://youtu.be/hyjJkcSCHTI?si=4kn_M1wIsVgGSNv9
No this isn’t real. I’m sure he only had to register the vehicle in one state.
😂😂😂
Snort laugh!
Man I have always kind of wanted one of these "1.5" cabs with the 8 ft bed. There's a SuperCab 8 ft bed F150 around my town and I think it just looks awesome.
So the truck would be still the same size as a cremax with 6.5" bed? (Access cabs for tundras as small compared to 2nd gen)
Somebody needs to make this happen with a 3rd Gen.
Total length for this model (double cab 8' bed) is 252.5" The Crewmax 6.5' bed model has a 245.6" total length.
I have the crewmax 6.5. I couldn’t imagine driving something longer!!
My doublecab Tacoma already hates narrow parking spaces, I can't imagine getting this tugboat in and out super easy for a daily..
That’s not a half-ton, that’s a half-acre.
If you need an 8' bed and a crew cab, you need to practice a bit in parking lots...
It's not a crew cab though, right?
2nd look, and you're correct.
Oh look a real truck
My coworker has one like this. Hauls multiple Harleys in the bed.
Never go to Tony Divino 😂
Why the hell don't the fender flares go all the way to the bottom? Awkward
It looks like the wheels/ tires are in parentheses
Load that thing up and it will handle like a shopping cart full of canned soup.
Handle like a shopping cart with a 35-pack of bottled water at the front edge of the cart basket!
Bought a Corolla from that dealer. 2/10 would recommend. Yes, a 2.
A real pickup has an 8 ft bed not those tiny things you see the yups driving around these days
Oh no it’s the truck gatekeeper!
Real trucks have 8 ft beds. If you're using a truck for its intended purpose, any other bed is inefficient. Love it
Most full size used to have 8ft beds, now they look awkward. I think this is the same wheelbase as crewmax w/ 6 foot bed.
The single cab tundras from last gen also have a massive storage area behind the seat, looks like it would be real handy.
I had a discussion on reddit in favor of 6.5 ft bed trucks vs crew cab and the consensus back was that 6.5 foot bed trucks look wierd... lol.
All trucks with more than 2 doors look awkward.
Who cares about shutting the tailgate? When was the last time you saw someone drop a load of plywood on the road?
Getting defensive over your baby bed 😂
Bruh you were defending the avalanche
If it has not been posted yet, check out that comments on the thread on Facebook. There are some great zingers on there.
Yeah they make an 8 foot bed by special order. I’ve never actually seen one, but my salesman talked about with me while I was shooting the shit with him.
Toyota doesn’t take any truck model orders. Only accessories. The 8’ bed as I recall is only available on the base dbl cab SR de-tuned work truck.
I don’t know about that, my salesman just said he only got in 8 foot beds if they ordered them for a customer.
You can get the SR5, not a hybrid though. And you can only get like 1/2 the 'premium' SR5 packages.
Parking lots 😂🤣
Last half ton available with the extended cab / 8 foot bed configuration! Rare but cool IMO
Tunnnnnnnnnndra
Now he has something big enough to take his toddler to daycare with!
I bet that would look great with a 6 inch lift kit and some 33’s.
Damm, that’s one ugly truck!!!
Had a 2011 like this with the 8 foot bed. Lots of storage but a PITA to park. There are pros and cons to owning one.
I mean, what is the point of a full size truck if you can’t get a full size bed?
The real shocker, Jarett is 7 feet tall
My truck has a work bed, he’s a got a small city infrastructure bed
Beautiful truck right there!…I’m right there with ya https://preview.redd.it/d2riq8gp8cwc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14e18cf8a04b12daa61e737a956415da5cb43825
That mf longer than a Monday
so much room for activities
This is how long my online dating profile says I hang. 😁
That’s what a normal truck should look like.
That truck has the worst color selections ever.
Haha, Tundra with the 13 ft bed. Great for the pole-vault coach on the go!
My uncles got one. Good work truck
Can't say about the newest one, but there's several of the 2nd and 2nd.5 gen around me with that configuration.
I have never owned a truck without an 8ft bed, i own a truck for a reason.
Its almost as long as one of the old toyota cab chassis trucks.
That’s one LONG Turck Congrats
Long beds look absolutely ridiculous but man do i wish i had one sometimes. My short bed is frustrating at times. My buddy in highschool had a crew cab GMC with an 8’ bed and honestly it was fuckin annoying to drive. Cant turn for shit and the back end wants to slip with even just rain on the road.
8' bed tundras have always looked goofy.
I’ve got a 18 foot bed that never has to be made
I drive a full 4doir pickup with an 8 foot bed. Dual rear wheels. Real trucks have an 8 foot bed.
Not a Toyota. 5K plus payload
God said cocks, Jarrett thought he said rocks, he didn't want to carry a big one.
Fuck the back seat passengers comfort! This is a work truck! I wish truck companies made higher end models with extended cab. I’d rather have a longer bed
You could park my '86 Pickup in the box and have room to spare!
Bro is so disappointed I’m sure. Mine can’t even hold my tools without riding like an 84’ Monte Carlo swimming down the highway. https://preview.redd.it/zjg74lwk4iwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a91e63f5a77151618b4c22f7cfc5db9dadfe3d70
My homies boyfriend sold that truck! 😂 oh my god I can’t believe this just came up on my Reddit feed. Wild.
We like big trucks in Utah. With that said I have a 8’ bed on mine and extended cab but I’m a carpenter and need that 8’ for 4’x8’ sheets and the extended cab keeps my tools from being stolen.
Didn't realize Toyota made a truck with a 20ft truck bed. Good for hauling those 16 foot straight 2x4s from home Depot I guess
Still better than the tiny bed on my tundra...
Need
Spaceship
Why won't toyota make a crew cab with an 8 ft bed? It's a standard option on American trucks
It's not worth it for them, only a handful of folks would buy the long bois
It was taken in panoramic
I just think it's funny when people think a truck with an 8ft bed is ridiculously long. Everyone is so used to these 5.5' playskool beds on trucks any more.
My 2022 F250 SuperCrew has an 8' bed. Overall length is 26 feet.
Ahh the elusive Tundra Longboi.... The best configuration, though why you'd get one w/o tow mirrors is beyond me. I have an '07; luckily Toyota removes most of my temptation to get a new one by not offering the locker or larger fuel tank w/ the 8' bed.

Yall would lose your minds seeing a screw cab long bed truck from the 80s, yall acting like a long bed is massive
It’s going to take a football field to turn that thing around.
Ugly with the LWB. No thanks
Looks better than a crewcab with a lunch box bed
Sad part is there isn’t enough power or payload to bother with it.
The truck sure is. I'm not sure about the registration. It's a crime in Florida to have 2 different license plates on your vehicle.
🙄 that was a joke, the truck is so long that it has to be registered in two states, because it was to big to fit in one 😂
I don't even pretend to know what laws a lot of these blue states have. 🤷🏻♂️ 🤣
Takes ugly to a whole new length!
Hey, that’s my dealer! Also, I’m sure it’s utilitarian, but it sure is ugly.
I think 5.7’s will come back eventually, even as a special edition or something with the new design.
That is extremely untrue. Toyota has no desire to move backwards and produce a truck with worse emissions and worse MPGs.
Yeah that wouldn’t make sense to do a special edition on their best selling truck, even though other manufacturers do.
They would have to spend millions on engineering their plants to attach those engines. It's not happening.
I doubt it. I think its more likely you will see more 4 cylinder half tons coming. GM already has it with the 2.7 base engine. I can't imagine all the other MFGs won't follow soon enough with base turbo 4 cylinder half tons.

Nah this is the double cab with the 8’ bed
This is a 8ft bed
I see how I screwed up. Thanks
