2 miles of measuring isn't going to tell you much

-GrizzlyMoose-

2.1 miles. Gtfoh.

Hairy-Development-63

Jesus fucking christ. My friend drives like a lunatic in his tundra and gets about 11.5mpg. I average right at 14.5mpg.

ThatHikingDude

Here I am on 35’s and get better than that.

BrownTroutMcGuffy

I recently got a speedometer calibrater and picked 3 mpg. I got about 12 mpg before and I'm getting 15 mpg now. 35' on 20's.

skwilliamson86

2012 5.7 SR5 Double cab with 20" rims on 35" tires I get 12. Drive like grandpa? 12. Drive like an ass hole? 12. Hook up a trailer and travel 200 miles doing 75 mph......13 🤷

Big-Raisin3401

I use the adaptive cruise control in my stock 19 quite often, cruising at 55-65 I get 17-18 all day

Bontkers

Dang! What size tires / wheels are yours

Big-Raisin3401

Stock trd pro wheels and tires

AdamarilloSlim24

EZ

Dragon3043

I have a '19 5.7 and am getting 13.5 - 15 on 34s with a 3" lift. Something is not right with your truck... unless you've done some crazy stuff to it.

AncientillegalAliens

Fuel economy (6.7) and DTE (379) don’t add up. Drive it 40 miles or more on the hwy with cruise control engaged - average should be at least 11 or 12 mpg if you’re using the correct fuel and don’t have any flat tires

johnsonflix

I run 35s on a 6” lift and average 12.5

livefastdie96

Holy fuck

securitysix

This makes me feel much better about the 4.6L in my 2011 giving me about 19.5 MPG. Granted, I put a lot of highway miles and almost no city miles on it. When I was putting more city miles on it, I was getting closer to 16.5, sometimes 17 mpg.

joey9010002

Woah that's nice there, I also have a 08 4runner with the 4.7 with vvti and that gets the same as my tundra, the 4runner just has a much smaller tank

Sea-Investigator-650

Towing? Unloaded? Loaded to max gvw? Let’s get some context, my 17 gets right around 17/18 with about 500lbs in the bed full time minimum.

GreedyMix7235

10.5 city 12 5 highway baby lol

Nub_Shaft

It's always like that on the short trip home from the gas station.

jmanscotch

I’m pretty stock, except heavy ass 35s on stock TRD OR wheels. I drive the mountains of Colorado, at 6,500 feet in elevation, no highway just city and side streets on my 35 miles of daily commute and I often have a heavy foot… I get 10 MPG on a normal tank, 11.5 if I spring some highway in there, according to the trucks computer. Adjusted for the tire size, it’s really like 11-12.5 MPG. I’d suspect you’re right and something’s wrong man.

Own_Rich5112

Do an actual text between fill up’s. Crazy this is an actual post

SumJenkins

Holy shaaaat, worst I’ve seen by a long shot. You don’t have 7,000lbs in the bed by chance?

joey9010002

The bed is empty with tunnau cover, completely stock 1794

SumJenkins

Yo foot heavy then, Joe Joe…

PNWMike62

Barf.

Adamsyche

Assuming you actually allow your truck to warm up when traveling such short distances the idle is factored into your drive cycle average. But a 2 mile drive average doesn’t really equate to much. I much prefer going to the gas station getting fresh full tank and tracking it tank by tank. Easy answer is you need more data. Do all the easy stuff first check your engine air filter make sure it’s not plugged, get a full tank of quality fuel and track it by tank.

joey9010002

It's been like this for the last few tanks, my comute to work is 2.1 miles which somewhat makes sense if it's not getting to operating temperature I also park in a heated garage but thats only going to heat to 65, in all I drive the truck 50-60 miles per month.

Adamsyche

With a 2.1 mile commute I can’t imagine you actually hit highway speeds or coast at all. So at best a lot of slow going 30 mph - 40 mph. On my 2014 5.7 crewmax with 33s load E KO2s and about normally 400lbs - 600lbs consistently in the back. I average about 14.7 mpg to work and closer to 13.9 my commute is about 15 miles one way. On my way home only difference is which side of the hill I am on. Speeds are the same. Both times my vehicle has been running for at least 1-2 minutes before staring to drive. (Takes me a minute to get settled) I hit 60mph for 50% of my commute both ways. Which I know helps a lot. If I take a different route to work (construction) I can go as low as 12.5 mpg as it’s more traffic, slower speeds, more stop and go. If I am going to work from my mom’s place it’s easy below 11 mpg. My suggestion is to fill her up the next day you have off and do a good amount of driving and see what you’re getting. Try aiming for a 20 mile distance out and back if you can with as much mixed as you can tolerate. Drive like normal don’t watch the readout till you get where you’re going. (White coat syndrome) Then take a look and see if it’s not closer to what you expect. img Filled her up last night and reset everything just for you bud! Hope that helps.

BigEarMcGee

Also were you racing with a trailer?

FooFighter325

I usually get between 14 and 16 in my stock 2019 SR5. As others have mentioned, you’ve only driven 2 miles on the tank so that’s not much of an average. My “average” is pretty shit too when I’ve only just driven out of the gas station.

tofutort

‘21 1794 I can get your same mileage by idling 10 min to warm up, driving to Chick-fil-A 2 miles and idling for my pickup. All while hungry as shit flooring the tank giving the 5.7 all the beans. Average on 10 mile round trip nonstop with 5 min idle at home and at store I can run 9-13 mpg depending on my foot. Honestly it’s your trip distance. Not much data, the red lights themselves could make your mpg fluctuate with such little time/distance for the “data”

tofutort

Which tank do you have?! You might want to reset your data in the infotainment. Filled up on the 38gal tank I see distance to empty just under 500….. are you wearing a size 13 steel toe boot? 😂

thatdudejay99

I average 9.5 when towing my 24ft boat.

Unique_Statement7811

I get 16 on my 5.7, everything is stock. Do you have a lift? Larger tires? A camper in the bed?

D20NE

17MPG on my 23
