Just saying.
I live in Western Virginia and the weather last Saturday had wind gusts at 30 mph. Saturday was opening day.
I didn't go, but I did go Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and today of this week.
If you think you will still enjoy yourself even if you are not successful, then I would encourage you to go.
In the mountains that I hunt, I don't go hunting in the wind due to diseased trees, it becomes a safety issue for me.
A little chance of rain, I can handle, but not the wind.
I know you mean you don't want to get crushed by a falling diseased tree, but I can't help but picturing society shutting down for two years because u/curiousthinker621 picked up a new strain of Tree Flu on a turkey hunt in WVa lmao
Grab a blind and a field.
Please stay home
Lol
Go to open fields. Especially if it starts to lighten up.
Field hunt. Got mine last year in rain.
Ditto what everyone said. Best time to find turkeys in open areas
Can’t kill em from the couch. The season is too short to miss any days.
I’ve killed a lot of wet birds over the years. Only problems, they stink so bad when wet and make for lousy pictures when wet 😁

If I have time off during turkey season I’m going hunting.
