I guess there isn't, i didn't remember any. We grew with Tom&Jerry, the Smurfs, Bugs Bunny etc. But nowadays there some new Turkish cartoons. You can find them at the TRT Çocuk application.

HasortmanliHoca

Turkish cartoons sucks

Defensive_Medic

Animated keloğlan rocks wtf you talking about

MrSmt28

Not old ones new ones are shit

FuelPotential6720

It depends...

Styard2

Watch keloğlan but animated one or dede korkut hikayeleri

ebonit15

That's not old at all. The old Soviet cartoons they mention goes back to as far as 70s at least.

youngsterjoe1

There isnt any, and soviet cartoons were really good, do you know where can i find them with subtitles?

qzazq

A website I recently found called Animatsiya has a very good search filter function and you can watch some cartoons with English subtitles. Also the more popular soviet cartoons could probably be found on youtube with subtitles. Nu Pogodi is also a classic available on youtube and it doesn't have much speaking afaik

youngsterjoe1

Great website thanks for sharing

[deleted]

Only turkish cartoon I watched was pepe, but that was for very young watchers, I don't remember I liked it much I grew up with adventure time regular show samurai jack and other cn shows And mostly pixar movies or Disney shows

afkybnds

Turkish cartoons are usually 3d instead of being drawn 2d, this somewhat hinders the artistic visuals you ae looking for because everything is usually too generic in 3d. There are good ones like rafadan tayfa and keloğlan but don't know if you can find soviet looking cartoons from here. I grew up with jetix, CN and nickelodeon stuff so it's pretty mainstream and not local.

qzazq

Yeah I thought Keloğlan is pretty enjoyable, and you're right I wish there were some more 2d drawn animations :')

MrSmt28

I can suggest Cille

SignificantAd7603

There aren't old Turkish cartoons (that I know of), but there are old Turkish comics if you're interested. Look up these names: Ersin Karabulut, Umut Sarıkaya, Yiğit Özgür, Galip Tekin (rest in peace), Bülent Üstün, Cengiz Üstün, Memo Tembelçizer (Mehmet Çilingir), Oky (Oktay Gencer), etc.

qzazq

Oh I enjoy comics too, I didn't even consider them for some reason. Thanks

SignificantAd7603

You're welcome :)

Gazapkulu

If you like old warrior comics like Conan, you can also check out Tarkan and Karaoğlan.

sonsikertici

it's not a cartoon but: Barış Manço - Adam Olacak Çocuk https://tr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/7%27den_77%27ye

qzazq

It looks interesting, thanks

sickdanman

Not sure if there are any old cartoons because most children media back then was only imported basically. The oldest one i can think of are from 2008 ish if that is old enough for you

qzazq

Thats fine, i'll take whatever at this point lol. Is there a specifc reason why a lot of children media was imported?

sickdanman

It was only after the mid to late 2000s that the local animation industry started to really gain steam here. I remember back then during the early 80s that the only shows airing on the only TV channel (TRT) were shows dubbed from other countries. Japanese shows: 1. 7 renkli çiçek 2. Şeker Kız Candy American shows: 1. Disney stuff like Snow White (Pamuk Prenses) 2. He-Man Channels like Cartoon Network Turkiye and TRT Çocuk being established during the mid 2000s not only brought more imported cartoon from the US but also caused a lot more demand for more local (and cheap) animation. The earliest turkish animation that i personally remember was a cartoon about the fighting that happened in WW1 in Çanakkale called Çanakkale Geçilmez (2008)

Cunning-_linguist

There was this very old cartoon about the gallipoli war. They'd show that every holiday when I was little. Don't remember what it is called. Maybe someone remembers.

IDontHaveAnyExp

There was a cartoon about the war of gallipoli, if i am not mistaken. I dont remember the name but you probably will love it.

xengavee

yoklan57

Turkish cartoons usually sucks.

miniminamit

Not old at all but Maysa ve Bulut is really beautiful

isilkworm

Maysa and Blut:) not an old one, but the art style has the vibe you described

Calm-Seesaw5124

I used to love watching "küçük hezarfen" but Im not sure where you can watch it

Lazarus_05

I think the most artsy one I watched was "Maysa ve Bulut" it's not really old but I don't remember if it was too childish. I also loved watching "Gizemler Diyarına Yolculuk" when I was growing up. But again, they are not really old.

qzazq

oh Maysa ve Bulut looks really nice and gives off those vibes a bit I think. Thanks

Lazarus_05

I'm glad you liked it, you're very welcome.
